Merv Griffin by mrentertainment Merv Griffin by mrentertainment
Today is the 10th anniversary of Merv Griffin's death. The famous talk show host and game show creator died of prostate cancer on this day 10 years ago at the age of 82. His talk show: "The Merv Griffin Show" aired from 1965 to 1986. Merv also created the 2 hit game shows: "Jeopardy!" and "Wheel of Fortune". Merv did hosted some game shows as well, he hosted the Goodson-Todman game: "Play Your Hunch" and he sub-hosted for a vacationing Bill Cullen on "The Price Is Right" as well as for Bud Collyer on "To Tell The Truth". He was offered the opportunity by NBC to host a game show called: "Word for Word", which he also produced. He also produced both for NBC: "Let's Play Post Office" in 1965 and "Reach for the Stars" in 1967 and "One in a Million" for ABC. Merv may this picture of you honor your memory. I'm also working on artwork based on his game shows and plan to post them.
