We’ve come a long way  from family feuds and  kids just breaking rules. Now, warlords replace crime lords, heralds seek evolution, and inventions become weapons of the war  nobody thought they asked for. Hellfighters use hellfire, revenge the deepest desire; a battle brews beneath the streets where the smog silently creeps. Black roses bloom in the ashes gloom, blows are traded for blood; those in love are torn apart when grief guides a change of heart. While others, unconcerned, just want to watch the world burn.

Full moon, clear night, freezing cold at midnight. Stardust falls to frosty ground, paparazzi all around. There’s gold and silver in the starlight, but the sky is beneath my feet  tonight.

Tulips sprouting before March, lulled into birth by warmth of the sun, will soon find their early demise in the frost of false spring.

My rims are rusted and worn, my brakes are bled and shorn from running on these rotted roads trying to beat the Devil. But I’m still drowning on dry land, underneath the avalanche of my anxious heart.

The chestnut tree sheds its leaves as two friends spend one last day, and say adios in their own way.

Could you call me cold hearted or insincere if I don’t need to cry about it later?

The things I would have done, the things I would have said, if I had not let love make a coward out of me.

Do not come to me looking for sympathy, there is no neutrality here - the cause of this antagonism does not get my shoulder to cry on.

Sometimes the only certainty is that love remains in a world of change.
