There is nothing like looking, if you want to find something. You certainly usually find something if you look, but it is not always quite the something you were after. For until lions have their historians, tales of the hunt shall always glorify the hunter.

That's one of many reasons I'm happy the Renaissance Festival comes in October/November - at least there's a chance you won't roast to death in your jerkin. In fairness, my costumes lean more to Viking or barbarian than a presentable knight or ranger such as yourself, so I don't typically do as many layers.
If you don't mind my asking, where do you get your armor and mail? It's exceptional quality, and I have had my eye on a set someday.

Dozens of sources. For Steel Plate I've been commissioning pieces from Steel Mastery in Ukraine. Suits can range in the $4500.00 to 8500.00 range though. Steel plate requires determination and often takes 8 months after paying before seeing any progress due to most armor smiths having a waiting list. I've been waiting 6 months for a new Brigandine suit by ArmorySmith. Also in Ukraine. Other small items require various other artisans from all over the world. I'll list a few sites below. If you're referring to this particular leather set. I bought the boots, gambeson, pants, cape, gloves and arrows. I made the mail, jerkin, belt and quiver. A company I ordered a leather doublet from. Ravenswood Leather sold me some bulk soft brown deerskin leather which I used for this. It's influenced by viking design. Basically long strips cut and stitched together. The chainmail is way cheaper to make than to buy. It's super easy but very time consuming.

Thanks! Yeah there's a whole armory here at the house with costumes and weapons that are still waiting their turn for some airtime haha. It just seemed iconic you know? Elf hunter with a bow. Easier to move around in the snow too. And yes I totally role played that I was sneaking through enemy territory in the snow that day. This squirrel decided to jump on a branch overhead right as the shutter was closing. It wasn't intentional but actually made the picture better... Albeit a bit annoying.
