Planescape: torment

By mr-nick
(c) 2005 Nick Egberts

At the center of all things lies the city of Sigil. Neither Gods nor Deities holds have power here. Within it it can be found portals to even the most far flung of planes and most obscure of worlds. The city takes the form a giant wheel that turns on a giant hub called the Spire.

This is ofcourse the center for the incredibly cool planscape setting of (back then TSR) D&D. The characters this painting feature are from the Black Isle game called: Planescape : torment.

In the center is the Nameless one: somewhat forgotten by death, he can be hurt he just cant die. Every time he wakes up in the mortuary he is without memory of his past. He searches the multi-verse for clues about his past and has become jaded to the extreme by his experiences, so that not even the din of battle can light his face.

he faces the Shadows:servants of the Lady of Pain, ruler of Sigil.

They should made a movie about it, and Sean Bean should play Nameless One. He has the best....experience.... for that role.

Beautiful piece. The Nameless One's expression is perfect! I agree with DarkUrsa that Morte is adorable. I'm in the midst of playing this game!

The look on his face says to me: "I hate Mondays"

The ending at the end of that game was absolutely brilliant, it felt concluded and established closure well. Heck even when you talk and merge with the Nameless One's true self, that was a powerful moment for CRPG's everywhere. He finds what he's looking for, understands the consequences and accepts his punishment. It was a bit wrenching to say goodbye to Morte and Vhailor though, Vhailor since he's a badass and voiced by Keith David.

Anyways, amazing piece here, pretty much captures the Nameless One's demeanor in everything. Dead but stoic. Not to mention the colour palette is nicely done, fits well with the original art of the game.

But who cares? Iven if this character got ring from his intestines, removed his eye by himself, dead many generations ago... He is perfect sample of handsome man in game that we love... And other doesn't matter...))
P.S. We can't hear the smell of his body... Thanks all gods and Lady. Illusion continues...)

Truly mesmerizing artwork. Although it looks like the perspective is off 30 degrees or something. And the Nameless One has a very silly posture, as if he isn't standing on anything. Otherwise, the drawing and coloring is excellent.

Love it :)
Torment is still the best RPG ever made for PC!

though the witcher 2 comes close :)

Your Nameless One actually looks like Geralt.
