Well well :) for some time now, alot of people have asked me to do a tutorial on how to create textures for planetary use. Well, in this tutorial i show some pretty fast, easy and good ways to create textures wich you can use for your planets. I show how to easily implement water into your texture and im pretty sure that by the end of this tutorial, you guys will be creating smashing textures yourself :D

As you can see i've zipped some files here. Its the highres version of the tutorial itself, and two jpeg images and a fractal image. Please use these if you want to achieve the same result as i've shown in the tutorial.

Damn this took some time. I was originally planning to make a spacepicture yesterday, but i ended up working on this one :) and it took me around 5 - 6 hours i think.

I hope it'll be of use to you guys/girls. And please, if you guys have any questions, just ask :lol:

Wow my friend, until now I had the time to try this tutorial... *:worship:*, its truly amazing, I might be trying to do some awesome planets like yours one of these days :D.

well i like it how you explain it but there is one reason why i couldnt finish it !
it was WAY to big ! because of that i had to wait a very long time,and i really dont like itwhen photoshop is slow >.>
but no complains other from that, i mean good job !

Great Tut man:) Totally using this i know how to make planets and other methods of making textures but this one is Great, And your planets are also amazing looking:D, Can't wait to see the other tuts you come up with if there will be any ;)

I`m practising with textures lately and still find it hard to use it in a good way. :)

It's is very understandable. And it makes fun!
You did very well! But I can't find the apophysis (water.jpg) file...And you now it is really needed. Perhaps you could help me ;)

call me noob, i am noob. but i couldn't find "clone tool" the closest i found was clone stamp tool, which wouldn't work
