Description
NOTE: I did NOT do the artwork, I only took the photo.
Taken last night in Hosier Lane in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Hosier Lane is known for its diverse graffiti that can tend to be quite political in nature. Shree Ganesh is one of the best known artworks in the laneway and he is noted as the "god of knowledge and the remover of obstacles. He is worshipped, or at least remembered, in the beginning of any auspicious performance for blessings and auspiciousness."
I decided to post this for a couple of different reasons:
as it's the start of a new year, I thought an image reflecting a good start to the year was in order.
as a small gift to lolly, as I know he likes images of Ganesh. I thought he might like to see an Australian version of Ganesh.
I fixed the perspective on this a little, hence I had to crop a bit. Brightness, contrast and sharpening adjustments made as per usual. Note also that as this was taken in the middle of the night, the image is a lot darker than how you would normally view it. I tried brightening the image, but it washed the colours out, so I left it dark.
I hope you all like
