See The Bird With Fruit In Her Mouth

Where: Berkenhof's Tropical Zoo Kwadendamme, The Netherlands

We visited the zoo because we read online these Turacos had a chick They are rare as it is in Dutch zoos, we'd never visited the zoo before, and it looked like there was decent lighting to photograph the chick, so we decided to give it a go.

Neither the chick, nor the parents disappointed, giving us some good chances to watch and photograph them! One of the best things to watch, in our opinion, is when Turacos eat. Their crest will move up and down As you can see, at this point, the crest was down.

Species: Purple-Crested Turaco (Purperkuiftoerako)

Latin name: Tauraco Porphyreolophus

Originates from Africa.

Current status: Least Concern
