Alyssa - Emergence

Alyssa's awareness gradually surfaced. All she could remember was that her name was Alyssa and that she was a woman with red hair and green eyes. Alyssa couldn't feel anything but a vague warm sensation. No sensation of touch, of a pulse, of breathing or needing to breath, no sensation of a body whatsoever.

While Alyssa couldn't remember anything specific from her past, she was acutely aware of the lack of any bodily sensation. However, she felt no panic or concern, just an emotionless detachment. Was she asleep and dreaming?

Alyssa thought she should see if she could wake up and willed herself to open her eyes. She could "see" but, it wasn't the sensation of opening her eyes, rather a realization that visual information was already present and she just became conscious of it.

She was could see she was looking up (as if she was lying on her back) at a cavern of some sort, lit by a bright orange - yellow light "behind" her. Her vision was strange, she couldn't turn and look in any particular direction. It was like she saw everything above a certain plane. It was unfocused, like she could see everywhere out of her peripheral vision, but she couldn't turn.

She willed herself to focus, eventually she fell the sensation of trying to push her head up from submersion to above the water in a pool, except the liquid felt much thicker. As the top of her head pushed through the surface, she could feel the small portion of her body that was above the liquid, but still no bodily sensations below the surface of the liquid.

She continued willing herself to rise above the surface of the liquid, as she did she was suddenly able to focus and look around. She was neck deep in a molten pool of gold. But wait, while she now had a focused view like normal human vision, her peripheral vision expanded. She was looking up at herself from the pool still, and from her emerged head, she could see in every direction. She had this peripheral vision from the pool surface and the entire surface of her body above the pool.

She continued to will her body to rise up from the pool. It was like she was flowing up and out of the pool until she was mid-calf level. From her "surface vision" she was aware that she had long flowing red hair and big bright green eyes. That made sense, all of her life she was the girl with "long red hair and big green eyes." Like it or not, that is what defined her, what people saw and said when they looked at her.

Alyssa held her palm up in front of her face, it wasn't a mirror but she should be able to get a better look at herself through this bizarre surface vision. It took a lot of concentrated effort to move her body, she had no sensation of muscles and bones. She was finally able to move when she visualized her hand in front of her face and concentrated into flowing into that shape. The way her arm moved was unnatural, it sort of melted then flowed to the new place and shape.

"Looking" at her face through the surface vision on her palm, her skin was completely golden, except for her lips which were a red bronze color. She wished she could see her face more clearly, suddenly a green eye opened in the middle of her palm. On one level, it freaked her out, on another level it felt easy and natural. It was surreal to have focused vision from two view points.

Her red hair was thick, long, and luscious. It was well defined and looked "human," her green eyes looked human, except they seemed bigger, and certainly brighter, like sparkling green diamonds. The features of her face were well defined, but her skin was a smooth gold surface, no pores, no wrinkles. Other than her hair, eyes, and lips the rest of her body was solid gold, like she was a living statue.

The features of the rest of her body weren't as nearly defined as her face and hair. Though she can't remember details, she had an awareness that she spent a great deal of time focusing on caring for her face and hair and were intimately aware of their details. She hadn't focused a fraction of the amount of attention on the rest of her body throughout her life. Emerging from the pool, she knew she was "naked" but the features of her "private" areas were not defined. She realized that she almost never looked at herself while she was naked. Almost all of her awareness of herself was wearing clothes.

She "dispelled" the palm eye and the creepy uneasy sensation went away. She couldn't step out of the pool or separate herself from it. She finally realized the entire pool of molten gold was her body.
