it all started few weeks ago while talking to a friend, I suddenly felt the urge to draw a tavern...yet I needed a excuse to do that so here it is....I'm not totally stasfied with it, I know that I REALLY need to get back to work, I need to practice all over again, but that's a step (at least). So as you can see, those are (pregnant) Galadriel and Celeborn when they were in Eregion (during the 2nd Age, before its fall)...those were happy times back then...
Took me quite a lot of time to comment on this one. Life.
I remember this really made my day when I saw it, a few months ago - I really missed your C/G paintings. This is quite an unusual atmosphere - I'm used to seeing them in relatively open spaces. I wonder what made them get in here in the first place; I find whimsical Galadriel weird, even when pregnant.
I can't decipher her expression. Anything in particular? As people noted already, Celeborn's protectiveness is so sweet. ^_^
Worry seems to fit her expression, but I'm not sure she'd choose to have Celebrian when she knows the city is about to be ruined. It took some time before Annatar's scheme was exposed. Maybe she wonders what it'll be like to be a mother? (Yet, no answer to why they're in a tavern in the first place. XD)
I guess in LoTR Celeborn and Galadriel are almost ethereal...ageless creatures, characters from another time. But in the Silmarillion or the lost tales, you see them as people...So since they had a child, she had to had gotten pregnant
yeah, I wanted him to be protective...it is something that always strikes me when I hear people speaking about pregnancy : they are all crazy about mothering love, instinct...how it is awesome to be brought to live by a mother and they always overlook the role of the father. Human is one of the only species where the male is so concerned for his mate and children...I always find that very cute to see men all worried and protective when their partner is pregnant.
Well I think that the main problem is that the fandom bases its opinion on the short version of the movie and not the long so we only see a bit of him....moreover, in the book the fellowship stayed for a month in the Lothlorien and we had the opportunity to learn much more about him... yet they gave his role to Galadriel and totally overlook him because of the movie.
