Description

Referencing Michelle Wie's swing. Which, if I know anything about golf, and I don't, is a pretty great swing.

I'm looking for feedback on clothing, mostly. I'm aware there are a couple anatomical problems (like that right leg being too fat).

I want ideas on how to draw wrinkles in fabric, or how movement affects the flow of clothing. Also shading, and where that should be emphasized when dealing with fabric folds.
I mean, if you're a golfer, you could also chew me out on how this isn't proper form. Really, I'll take any feedback I can get.

HI from :iconprojectcomment:

Unfortunately, I am not a golfer and can't really offer any thing about form... But, as artist, I can say from the first look of this, I thought how simple, clean and accurate this is. The first thing I noticed that I must commend you on is, the proportions and anatomy. I see a lot of characters poses and perspectives of body angle, and they seem to be an issue for many people. Especially, when some one is trying to depict a realistic human figure. I think you nailed it in this pose.

Starting with the neck being drawn into the shoulder and having the hands placed and posed as they are, are realistically positioned. The bend and how the rib cage and shoulder are sticking out and twisting back, again, are pretty accurate.  Even the way you have the one knee positioned higher, than the other one due to the calf muscle being stretched, wonderfully and accurately done. I can't praise you proper anatomy enough on this. It is refreshing to see this. Well done.

In regards to the fabric, I think for the most part, the way you have the shirt seems to be okay. If I am not mistaken, it looks like a polo shirt? Polo material tends to be a bit thicker and doesn't tend to leave tiny thin wrinkles when being bunched or folded. The skirt on the other hand, I think tend to be pressed and some times pleated. Usually it would be a bit stiffer?  Your skirt seems to look light and airy so, I think the way you have it, works okay here. The way you have the material waving like that, makes it look like she just took a swing and creates movement.

To better draw fabrics in general, I would actually recommend draping and bunching different types of fabrics over a table or chair. And just sketch what you see. That way, you can get a better look at how the fabric naturally lays and folds. I have done this and it helps me.
