Firstly, I love Jacks face in that top panel... 'Hello god...' The all knowing Soph... hehehe.

I also like the wing muscle detail... I've always found musculature on fantasy creatures to be interesting... bones and the like rarely capture the nature of such things well.

For instance, the whole fire breathing thing... I once saw an awesome picture where the artist had actually refined a vipers fangs to function as the ignition atomizer, spraying out the inflammable liquid, while bile sprayed from the nose reacted and exploded a short way away from the face... a very cool concept, I thought. But I've gone off on a tangent.

The wing musculature is what I was getting at... I don't think anyone will ever get it right, not that anyone can say whether or not it would be, being a creature of fantasy, and what with no other creature alive with wings and separate arms, we may never know... But I like the way you've done it, what would be the shoulder muscle stretched out like that over the bone, not just some pissy little sticks fumbling for air, you've got some real raw tendon going there!

The one thing I don't quite get is the explanation, and I know it sucks having someone nitpick logic in something like this, but thats what mates do! So, if the younger dragons can still fly, why would a pit be a problem? And the concept of clipping the wings, much like they do with birds... the feathers clipped never grow back. But this scar completes the membrane again, so can't the blue beastie still flap his lungs out and take off?

All the same, I think a complete encircling Victorian cage with that black steel curly design work all the way around would be rad!! Do one of those! Do it NOW! NOW!

Omfg, mega post XD
I shall answer your question!
I guess I never really made it perticularly clear, but the younger dragons still cant actually fly with thier wings, they can just propell themselves to jump much higher. The thing with the scar tissue is that its much weaker and hurts when a dragon flaps its wings too hard and would tear if it flapped with enough force to life it off the ground.
I canit claim too much credit for the wing musculature, though XD I poached that somewhat from other Dragon Images I have seen. I massive victorian enclosure would indeed look awesome, though.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. So the little ones basically skip around and run along the floor furiously flapping their wings until they're airborne for a little bit... before smashing their faces into the wall enclosures! Aha! I get it now. lol. Rad. I'd like to watch that, I see now why.

And I now understand the larger scar tissue thing, makes sense... Although he could just furiously flap the one working wing and kind of corkscrew about furiously... but of course he wouldn't because he'd look like a wally and even dragons pay attention to that... XD

They actually cut both of the wings! That way they avoid having to re-brick the walls due to Draconic face smashage every other month. I would love to watch that, though XD I wish they would put some Dragons in real Zoos.

That would be legend! ... although I imagine theres all sorts of related issues there... concerning fire safety and whatnot...
