For all of you Canadians (and Brits!) out there who tire of being told that they can't spell. We're not wrong -- THEY ARE!

Centre too
I get so many people thinking I'm spelling it wrong but I'm Acadian and on the east coast

Exactly! We have a program where I work that is spelled "center" because it's also used in the U.S. and they thought the branding would be confusing if it was spelled differently across the two locations.  I cringe every time I have to refer to the program in writing.

Australian,NewZealand,Canada and Britain all spell the same way,so what right do Americans have to say it's wrong?Silly concept lol.

We don't have U's "added", they have U's taken away.

In the canadian or british english dictionary we do.

The U.S. is pretty much the only English speaking country that I know of that removes the U's from words. So we're not adding U's the U.S. is taking them away.
