Speak Across the Miles
Speak across the miles
I can hear your voice
Playing like a song
To touch me hereTalk to me in letters
Tell me of your life
I can tell you things
I've learned to knowTouch across the miles
For a moment, like you're here
Feels like rushing water
Running clearWords that feed the spirit
A kindness to the soul
And the sweet words
Of a voice I cannot hear
The Carillon by Moonbeams, literature
Literature
The Carillon
In the belly of each the sky rings to a placid place
swapping dusk for sunrise for dusk
in the patina --
the silhouette of the black
of buildings buried in the tarnish
as they're remembered --
spires surging somewhere -- roads
as seen through smoke stained screens,
and proto-eyes
laid through an alloy of tableau patterns and bric a brac,
and somewhere a child plays for eternity.
