Beyond | Aodh | Chevalier | Maelorom
Renata walked passed Cascade who was challenging other horses into what she called bobbing apples. To say Rena was bemused would be an understatement. How could the gods -gods of all horses- invite them up here for such frivolous affairs when such cruel things were happening in the mortal world? Surely she had eaten something bad and now she was having a strange dream. There was no other explanation. Or was she perhaps dying and stuck in limbo. Maybe it was a test of morality, her actions set to determine her next live. The thought frightened her. Surely it was just a dream and she would wake up and see Izel later. She looked back to see Alya encourage some other horses to pin a tail on... was that Ignacio?! She was so buzzy watching her surroundings, she didn't notice the other horse until it was too late.
Beyond reeled with an angry snort as someone ran into her, a feathery wing caught in her mouth for a second, causing her to choke for a moment before she spat it out and turned angrily to see the horse that had caused her trouble. A Pegasus, of course, she spat out another small feather, some kind of draft cross maybe? She was terrible at this guessing game, why even bother? "Watch where you're going please" she said in a tired but irritated tone, this wasn't the first horse who'd run into her, but it was certainly the first to leave her with a mouthful of feathers. She shook her glorious red antlers as he tried to relieve herself of the sensation of feathers in her mouth, she was very proud of her costume, especially the gravity-defying horns.
There was some awkward shuffling as one horse tried to get away from another and wings were removed from mouths. Embarrasedly Renata dipped her head. "Ah, apologies. I was not paying enough attention towards where I was going, it seems." She gave the mare a quick once over, making sure she had not taken out an eye in the collision. She saw nothing, but out of reflex she still asked the other to confirm that fact. "Did I hurt you?"
“No, no” Beyond replied “I'm fine” she spat one last little feather out as she spoke. “I'm Beyond by the way” she introduced herself, she might as well make use of this accident to have a chat and maybe even make a new friend. “What herd are you from? Serora?” She made a wild guess, going by feathers she assumed she must be one of Alyas followers, but of course it was highly likely she would be wrong “or War-Forged?” She added, unsure if she'd said the right thing.
This dream was getting weirder and weirder by the minute. She looked on as the stranger introduced themselves, followed by them taking wild guesses atbher herd. She quietly wondered why someone would guess her to be Seroran or Warforged. Did she look a certain way? The only thing she could guess would point to anything her related was the golden band around her ankle which she still wore. It was a memoire of Lothos and the one thing of the herd she had not discarded. Still that screamed Talori, not Serora and definitely not Warforged. Maybe it didn't matter and was her victim just trying to start conversation to ease the awkwardness from running into eachother. "Pleased to meet you, Beyond. My name is Renata. As for my herd well... I have none." Even in dreams it was probably unwise to disclose information on the flock. There were horses that walked dreams, right? "How about you? Where do you come from?"
“Aodh, I'm a chevalier, I usually spend my days chasing your type, but not today” A friendly smile crossed her face for a moment as she recalled the many vagabond hunts she'd been on”oh and please pardon my rudeness of guessing your herd so inaccurately if it caused any offence, most pegasi I meet either come from Serora or sometimes War-forged if not Aohd. You didn't look Aohdian but I didn't see you as being vagabond either” that was quite a surprise, this well-kept mare a vagabond? Then she noticed the band on her leg, very obviously Talorian “are you a runaway from Talori? I have a bit of a hate against that disgusting herd, chopping the wings off innocent pegasi, not that there's anything I can do to stop their sacrificial rituals” Beyond regretted her words immediately, what if this mare had loved her herd and been forced away or something of the kind? “My deepest apologies if I have offended you with my opinion, in Aohd we tend to be outspoken but unfortunately I am particularly opinionated” well there goes any chance I had I had of making a friend, Beyond thought with a sigh.
Adept as she was at it, Rena had difficulty as the other horse talked on. She let out a polite laugh at what she could only hope was a joke on the other horses' part. Then again they were Aodhian. It would not suprise her if these horses, known as heithens amongst the Talorian,
would actually hunt down Vagabonds. And no doubt not because they did something wrong either. They went out about the herds and she nodded to show she was listening. She barely noticably cringed as they bluntly asked if she ran away from Talori herd, only to be surprised in the next moment when they went out about the sacrifices. Interesting. It seemed even those who kept slaves thought the practise barbaric. She found it curious how both herds could treat a certain group if horses in such cruel ways, yet only see how wrong it was if it was not part of their own culture. Ot was not her battle to fight however, not now at least, and she smiled politely again. "No need to apologize, but lets keep it at the fact that I am in a much better place right now," she offered as answer. In an attempt to change the subject of conversation, she let her eyes wander over the eerie place she found herself in. She vagually wondered if she was in the sky as she considered her options. She assumed that what Alya had set up would be considered rude by the Aodhian. She wondered how the deitt god away with makingbabgqmeboutbof pinning a tail in another deity's behind without starting a fight over it. She'd like to think perhaps the gods were above such petty squabels bit considering the game in itself, this whole festivity and the fact they started a war amongst themselves, that was perhaps nothing more than wishful thinking. She wasn't feeling the need to go share scary stories around the campfire though. Maybe apple bobbing? She felt herself drawn to Cascade even when she had started to doubt the goddess. But this was a dream right? What did it matter? "Would you like to accompagny in a game of apple bobbing?" she propossed as she started walking to set venue. This was a dream so she might as well enjoy herself. She never got ones this lucid after all.
