Faction name: Deep dive resistance
Government: Stratocracy

Faction colors: Black & Dark blue

Symbol

Deep dive resistance has chosen the feathered serpent as their symbol. Seen as impure and driven from villages, so does deep dive wish to chase the impurity of the intruders from their home. As such the serpent is predicted with clipped wings and a sword embedded in it’s head. The symbol is depicted in various shades of navy and black.

Leader appearance/attire

As leader of the resistance Kanaloa goes around dressed up in armor most of the time. It was advised by some of the horses closest to him that he should look the part to inspire morale into the resistance. The armor covers the front of his face, neck, shoulder, back and flanks. Also his legs are covered with braces. At the centre of the breastplate the old Talori herd symbol is engraved, symbolically referring to how close to the heart their herd lies. On his left shoulder hangs a banner with the Deep Dive faction logo embroidered on it. When fighting however it’s taken of, revealing a smaller engraved depiction on the armor below. The armor has a blue sheen to it, in resemblance to the sea they reside in. When not wearing his armor Kanaloa is still often made to wear the banner. On the day of rubble, a day day remembrance of Inaria’s fall, he will appear to the public without anything at all, just like any horse of the resistance, showing off their vulnerability on that day and remembering who have fallen because of it.

Map/Location

The centre of Deep dive resistance is Deep dive itself. It lies at the bottom of the Talorian sea, deep beyond the reaches of members of the flock. It was first scouted out by hippocampi, blessed by Cascade to dive deeper than any other of their kind. It was them who stumbled upon an ancient city that fell out of record in any of their history books. It was soon found out that it lay into connection with the temple found by refugees in the wilds , allowing others also to take refuge in the air-pockets Cascade had so gracefully provided. The city is well defended and it’s location still unknown to the flock. Though time has taken it’s toll on Deep dive’s infrastructure it is the haven the Talorians sought for and they don’t complain about it’s dishevelled state. Furthermore because of it’s age, philosophers have begun to discover secrets that had long been lost, giving the resistance more insight as time drags on.

Mythical familiar

When Deep dive was discovered, so where the creatures that were dubbed Leviathan by philosophers. The creature was also found depicted on several walls around Deep dive but in much much bigger size, making researchers wonder about ancient variants existing. The Leviathan has a snake-like body covered in scales who appear in all kinds of colors from vibrant to pastel. Muted variants are far in-between. They have four pair of fins, also debated to better be called flippers, that they can use to move on land much akin to how a seal would, still not quite the same. They also use their tails to help them move both on land and in the sea. The form of its scales is often likened to that of seahorses. Roughly the size of a cat, the Leviathan feed on fish and fish alone. Any kind of other meat or fruits are turned down, having them earned the tittle of safe familiar. Because of their limited numbers however they have been marked prohibited for catching, becoming a familiar always the choice of the Leviathan itself. They seem to be reasonably smart and can learn to understand basic words without uplifting, making them up to par with dogs and dolphins in terms of intelligence.

Patron god

Name: Cascade
Gender: Female
Element: Water, time, healing, ...
Personality: Idem but with a darker touch to her, like the sea who swallows those who thread upon it without care
Blessings: Idem

It stands to say that the horses of Deep dive resistance still worship Cascade. It is she after all who provided their safe haven and the reason they still exist at all. Her children, or rather the children of the emperor, are well protected, the royal line well protected within their city’s walls. It’s how she was depicted on those walls, in statues and mosaic that came to shape a new Cascade, a Cascade of the deeps. Truly their goddess they had depicted in only one form, but seeing these other depictions it became clear to their people that she as divine being surely must posses more than one form. Her locks were still long and wavy like the sea and her body still like their hippocampi brethren, but now instead of shades of blue and green, it were shades of blue and black that colored her mane, coat and fins. Her fish tail was also longer, more akin to the leviathan that lived in the depths of deep dive and from her head sprouted an angler with a light. Sometimes she was depicted as a monster, teeth sharp and long sprouting from her mouth as she grabbed ships and dragged them below the sea. On other occasions she was a light that guided the horses in the city, soft and caring, a light in the dark. It was that ferocious side that the horses of the resistance needed and latched upon. That their caring goddess would lash out to those who they called enemies, those who they needed gone and would stand on their side.
