Introducing abigaillarson

:iconabigaillarson:

Hi! I'm Abigail Larson, and for those who've followed me these past thirteen years on DeviantArt already know, I love all things strange and macabre! I've been drawn to dark fantasy and classical horror my entire life, beginning with a love of the works of Edgar Allan Poe, Mary Shelley, and H.P. Lovecraft.

DeviantArt opened the doors for me to share my work with others who share my interests, and because of the overwhelming support and encouragement I've received here, my work has grown so much over the past decade. I've met incredible artists, learned new techniques, and have truly enjoyed being part of this community. It's an honor to be awarded with Deviousness!

AbigailLarson's work immediately caught my attention the first time I saw it, and her art has been a favorite of mine ever since. Her gothic storybook style never fails to delight me and, I think it's safe to say, her legions of fans. She has been posting to DeviantArt pretty consistently for over a decade, and it's amazing to see her progression both technically and stylistically as an artist, and also to see how much success she has gained over the years as a freelance artist! I am thrilled she is being recognized with Deviousness as I truly believe she is an artist to look up to in many ways. Congratulations Abigail!

I've followed Abigail Larson's work for some years, and while it's grown more refined over the years, it maintains a core identity that is remarkably subtle in what it addresses. There comes a point in all our lives where fables and nightmares can intermingle, and the stories we knew as children return to us tinged with fear and sometimes longing. Her work captures this well, and makes the seduction easy. The questions are intermingled: What do we want, and what do we fear? Her work has informed my own, though it may not seem like it on the surface. For that influence I'll always be grateful. It makes me happy to see the success and recognition she has achieved, and I wish her much more in the future.

Abigail Larson does beautiful art and has lovely themes that mesh perfectly with whatever piece she showcases.

Well-crafted and hauntingly whimsical, Abigail's illustrations delight the senses and ignite the imagination, inexorably inviting the viewer's mind to linger pleasurably over her sensual, organic designs. From iconographic fanart pieces to flirtatious Victorian witches, vampiric bloodlust, or charming and intimate pictorials of daily life in the nether reaches, Abi's eccentric, dreadfully bewitching style deserves all the awards and accolades bestowed upon it, including this one. It is little wonder her otherworldly work features proudly on the bosoms of ecstatic t-shirt owners, graces the covers of novels and glossy pages of reputable zines, and has been richly entombed upon prints adorning the worldwide walls of galleries and fans alike. May the fae with whom she obviously struck a soul bargain continue to bless Abi with the preternatural ability to create such wondrous illustrations forever.

It is always a pleasure to see new work from Abigail in my notification center. She has a wonderfully unique style, and is able to breathe fresh visual life into old stories. I am particularly fond of her forays into Lovecraft

Abigail is one of the most outstanding artists of our time. Her attention to details and graceful lines steal your heart at a glance. But the main thing why I love her work is that she popularizes the Gothic culture, which is so close to me, she skillfully showing the viewer romantic and attractive gloomy images, giving you a very special feelings, thus inspiring even those, who are usually disinterested in dark art in general. Largely thanks to Abigail Larson, I became an illustrator, thanks to her my style was formed. Congratulations for your Deviousness Award Abigail! This is so well deserved!

I've been a fan of AbigailLarson's work for a long time. I was initially drawn in by her ethereal, sometimes spooky figures. I find her stylized, yet beautifully detailed, drawings uniquely engaging and inspiring. Her minimal palettes are tastefully elegant. It's good to see her receive this recognition

What first attracted me to Abigail's gallery were the whimsical shapes, interesting color contrasts and compositions, and of course the beautiful character designs. At the time I was confused about my own style, so I was looking for 'different' artists who could inspire me, and I immediately fell in love with her gallery! Each image seems to tell a story. Sometimes it's only a few words, sometimes I feel like it could fill a book. It's these silent stories that keep me captivated image after image. Her gallery is truly an inspiration!

The first time I saw AbigailLarson's art, I felt like I had been transported into a deliciously macabre fairy tale. A master of atmosphere, her style is instantly recognizable. Every piece feels like an invitation, beckoning the viewer to step inside a dark, brooding world that is both alluring and treacherous. In her 12 years on deviantArt, AbigailLarson has inspired a whole generation of artists to identify and pursue their unique passions. She's the quintessential deviant – creative, sincere, and encouraging. I'm always looking forward to her next drawing!

Congratulations to AbigailLarson!
