The Heartists - #1 Episode: In October, 2020, we finally announced Maya’s second pregnancy to the world. Unlike most illustrations, however, the creation process for this particular comic took a serious toll on us, both creatively and emotionally. After endless brainstorming sessions and dozens of sketches, we finally realized why we weren’t getting it: We wouldn’t nail the visual until we figured out the emotion we wanted to convey with this piece. Our journey wasn’t physical, but rather an emotional one. Sitting down to brainstorm about what exactly we would want the artwork to convey in this special comic, Yehuda recalls how he felt after Ariel (our first child) was born. We didn’t know it then, but he went through a dark, lengthy battle with postpartum depression. Not a man of many words, he dealt with it the way he deals with most of his emotions - through his art. The decision to expose my postpartum depression after Ariel's birth was not an easy one for me. I think this

Digitize your [traditional] art - on a budget
Content Prelude Fantastic Equipment and Where To Find It Be PrePAAAAAAAAAAAARED Location Location Location! Digivolution - Make your Rookie a Champion! Final Words I‘ve come across a bunch of #tutorials on #howto #digitize #traditional #artwork in order to #publish them and their first steps looks ever so often like this: Get a small loan of a million dollars. Get yourself some decent equipment with it. This should do as first time setup: But in my guide I want to show that this isn‘t necessary if you know where to look and which steps to take. Well, that sounds just like I‘m about to give advice to Pocarrontas while scratching my bork-beard. Let me rephrase: I‘m happy to show how I prepare my pieces of paper before spamming groups on DA ᵒʳ ʷᵃᵗᶜʰᵉʳˢ ᵒʳ ᵘⁿˢᵘˢᵖᵉᶜᵗᶦⁿᵍ ᴰᶦˢᶜᵒʳᵈ ᶜʰᵃⁿⁿᵉˡˢ ᵒʳ ᴵⁿˢᵗʳᵃᵍʳᵃᵐ with it. 2. Fantastic Equipment and Where To Find It Yea sure you can use your #DLSR (or whatever gibber jabber order those letters come in) but I‘m not. I have a dated #Smartphone

The fires do not distinguish
fauna or flora,
they raze
the infinite lives,
built on generations
upon generations,
who flee
their forever homes
to become will-o'-wisps
of blackened forests,
haunting
the land down under.

How to DeviantArt: Watch
The state of Massachusetts is starting to re-open (relevant because it's where I live) and so is the world... And so is our community on the new DeviantArt! My goal was to get this tutorial written before it went live but alas, life gets in the way. But let's waste no time and get right into a tutorial to cover the new Watch area of DeviantArt! We'll cover the following areas: What is "Watch"? Where Is It? Parts of the Watch Page Managing Your Watch Feed (this section is a biggie!) Manage Who You Watch Recommended For You Shall we begin? What is Watch... Where Is It?! Watch is the page you'll visit when you want to view deviations (individual and group), posts, and more from the community members that you've added to your Watch list. On DeviantArt, to "Watch" someone is to follow their work. Simple as that! Watch is the place to find anything those you watch upload to DA. It's also where you can find new people to follow and manage your watch list. But we'll get to all of that
