Breathing life by Moonbeam13 Breathing life by Moonbeam13
Yes another abstract.. I'm going through a phase apparantly. I think it's important to note that there is no photo manipulation, it took me a while to make it look in my camera as it did in my head. The only computer "addition" is a saturation boost and my copyright stamp.

I've struggled with whether to post this at all as it was an interesting experience for me and it's possible it's only going to be beautiful to me. However, that's never bothered me before so why it would now, I have no idea. Artists are weird :P

Ok so I won't leave it completely cryptic for you. It was drizzling slightly when I went outside.. I wanted to mimic a watercolour painting with movement so the piece would breathe.

I was inspired by the rain because we've been dry for a while and the ground is just quenching a long thirst, I swear to you things were growing as I watched them, it was surreal. I chose a relatively green spot to focus on because green is the colour of life and I began the process. I was breathing rather deeply because I was using my breath as an artistic metronome and I think that could have caused me to go into a bit of a meditative state. When I was satisfied that I had captured what I wanted, I came out of the fog, realized how hard it was raining and ran inside soaked.

I transferred the photos to the computer, and ironically, realized I got water in the camera and it ceased to work. My desire to capture life seems to have stolen the life from my camera.. however, I've pulled it apart in the hopes that it can be saved otherwise we're visiting the hospital tomorrow.

So there's my long drawn out story for those that bothered to read this far.

i love how the colors mix together to create a beautiful landscape. blue, greens and a hint of redish brown is perfect! and then there comes the detail in ur title. the water droplets.
it definitly gives it a original yet complicated structure. the droplets makes it look like spring. which is definitly new life. i also like how u zoomed in on the front and made it a bit blury in the background. and the sparkle this droplet made on the leaves makes the whole picture look very dazzling. this deserves a daily deviation. and last but not least, u have made it look like modern day life can be turned into a piece of fine artwork. awesome job!^^
What do you think?
The Artist thought this was FAIR
4 out of 4 deviants thought this was fair.

wow...how ironic, your experience...
"My desire to capture life seems to have stolen the life from my camera..."

however, the colors are caleidoscopic. very beautiful.

hello:)
this photo is the most beautiful i have ever seen
you have captured the color and form of life
you have matched the hard focused stems with the soft whimsy of leaves magically with the water droplets acting as a mirror to this mystic world
adore!
i could look at this piece all day
painters such as i see things like this in their heads and make them up on canvas (or an old piece of wood found in z garbage), but YOU my dear have succeeded in locating the beauty of obscurity in your environment
... thank you for capturing this for us to see and /// i hope your camera is ok

really such chaotic color and movement here. it's nice, and i think you did manage to get a little of the watercolor feel you were going for. i hope the camera pulled through for you. i do find it amazing that you were so caught up in taking the picture that you didn't notice the rain.

Way to go, way to experiment. I find the idea of an "artistic metronome" in breath a fascinating and exemplary one.

Thank you for sharing the story and the image~

Oh i'm so glad you included that description, for several different reasons
I am amazed that you were actually able to get the pictures out of your cam! However small, that's still quite the miracle. And this is such a good shot, i'm glad you were able to accomplish your mission.. despite the sacrifices. Also, i am *so* glad you mentioned watercolors because honestly, i'm afraid i wouldn't have gotten that without your help. Knowing that makes this all the better. I like the lush colors and the moisture saturating this image. I really get a sense of fertility, life, and growth from this. You are quite damn talented with the abstract

I love this! The abstract nature of the saturated colors are very inviting, and I really adore the green! What I like a lot about this piece is that how you described how you could literally see things growing right before your eyes...and I feel with your selected focus points, you captured that aspect.

Spring Time!
