Weapons & Equipment:
Millennium Justice Identicard: As a “part-time” member of Abel’s group, Blackswan possesses her own MJ Identicard.
OG Catsuit: The black & purple skintight bodysuit Blackswan dons during her “shopping trips” and other missions. It is incredibly lightweight yet resistant to bullets, blades, and abrasions, offering some protection while allowing full unrestricted movement. It also has various pouches, where she can store additional tools and items. Perhaps the most prominent characteristic of her costume, is the ample naval-deep neckline which reveals much of her shapely chest and breasts to the world, which provide the perfect distraction against other criminals, the cops, and anyone else, both heroes and non-powered individuals, that will try to cage her in. She also has a pure-white version of this costume, for operations in snowy climates where she must blend in with the snowy landscape. During a surprise attack from Erzsebet Bathory, Blackswan’s original catsuit would be absolutely ruined beyond repair. Abel however, would provide her with a reconstructed copy of her old suit, as well as a newer and superior version. This said, she sometimes wears this catsuit, out of nostalgic reasons, or for missions which she may not require the protection her 2nd catsuit provides.
2nd Catsuit: During her first Christmas with Abel, her angelic beefcake would give her a new and far more superior catsuit (alongside new and upgraded versions of her gadgets, and an entire cave filled with jewels from a slain dragon’s horde). This new bodysuit, constructed of the same material as Pussycat O’ War’s outfit, bears the same color scheme of black and purple as her original suit. It grants Blackswan greater protective capabilities than her OG catsuit, without compromising her agility and sense of movement. It features armored padding at the knees and elbows to provide additional protection and enhanced knee and elbow strikes alongside the still-prominent “boob window” that provides the perfect distraction against other opponents. It is highly resistant against gunfire, laser and energy blasts, bomb/grenade explosions, knife attacks, piercing damage, monster fangs and claws, acid, is fireproof, waterproof, provides warmth in cold climates, and is insulated against electricity. It also offers protection from mystical attacks, especially curses and demonic possession. It also features an integrated jetpack on its backside that unfurls when in use, granting Mel the ability to fly without having to resort to using her flying vehicles. Through nanites located within its fabric, the suit darkens whenever she is in shadows or in darkened areas, and lightens when Blackswan is standing under sources of bright light.
Self-Repair: Blackswan’s 2nd catsuit features self-repairing nanotech in its fibers, allowing it to repair itself from scratches, abrasions, cuts, and other forms of damage.
Blackswan’s Toolbox (Weapons and Gadgets): Blackswan owns a wide plethora of weapons, tools and magitech she has either stolen, built or otherwise modified to suit her needs. Her stash of weapons and gadgets is well, needless to say, VAST, and is forever expanding. She’s got so many gadgets that would put Batman and James Bond to shame. She is known to have weapons/gadget stashes well-hidden inside all her hideouts and safehouses across the Network, the Monztarverse, and the other realities beyond. Hugh di Angelo, her ex-boyfriend, was her original supplier of gadgets and weaponry. Nowadays, Pussycat O’ War is her main supplier, who sends her surplus Prodigium tech to do with as she pleases, via Abel. Here, we cover the items among her arsenal she commonly employs on a regular basis.
Ondÿrhæll Gauntlets: The magnum-opus of her arsenal, are the high-tech gauntlets she wears typically during her burglaries; arm-mounted multitool bracers on her forearms that can be cycled between different modes whenever she wishes. Named after the mythical subterranean homeland of the dark elf race, Blackswan has extensively modified them with a varied assortment of weapons and gadgets, including but not limited to heated blades for close-quarters combat, wrist-mounted micro-rockets or bolts for ranged combat, and a short-ranged communicator that doubles as a control panel for some of her devices. Each gauntlet could originally be used only for one mode at a time, but she had managed to work around this former limitation by making each gauntlet work independently of each other. Later on, her gauntlets would receive upgrades, courtesy of Abel, to where they can now be used for multiple modes simultaneously. Blackswan would first begin work on her gauntlets with help from her former lover before Abel, and it was Abel who gifted her with far superior versions of these gauntlets.
Resistance Towards Damage: Her gauntlets have shown to be quite durable against damage and wear, with the battle against Cain’s troops, Cain himself, and Bathory’s sneak attack being the things that would eventually bring Blackswan’s bracers to their limits. Her newer and improved gauntlets from Abel are thus considered even more durable. Aside from routine maintenance/adjustments for particular missions, Mel needs not worry about having to repair her gauntlets.
Concealment: Whenever not being used, Blackswan’s gauntlets collapse themselves into smaller, more bracelet-like forms which can be concealed under other forms of clothing whenever she’s not wearing her catsuit.
Grappling Hooks: Blackswan’s usual go-to method for quick travel and escape, and at one time, the only feature of the Ondÿrhæll gauntlets that could function alongside the tech’s other uses, until Abel gave her current upgraded versions. The lines extend up to a full 50 meters in length, and are primarily made from a combination of nylon and coils of a tensile, strong metal found only in Dok’Kuumo’s caverns; this allows the lines to remain thin enough for easy storage while also supporting Blackswan’s weight. Her grappling hooks shoot out with enough force to pierce through Cain’s mouth and out of the back of his skull. The line on her left arm is equipped with a potent magnet, while the one on her right arm is equipped with a powerful gripping claw for everything else, and both are able to sprout numerous sharp barbs from within their coils; Mel is well known to use her grappling hooks in battle to deadly effect, often dragging enemies in range of her kicks, punching attacks, and slashes, as well as constricting them, to then slice them up with her lines’ razor-sharp spines. Both her grappling hooks would later be enhanced with adamantite, making them even stronger than before, and were also blessed by Abel, transforming them into not just effective traversal/burglaring tools, but also fatal weapons against the creatures of darkness and evil.
Gauntlets’ Weapons Systems: Among the vast array of weapons the gauntlets can employ, include deployable smoke bombs, shurikens, wrist-mounted machine gun fire and missiles, laser beams, and heated blades designed for melee battles. Some of these, she’s always had since the creation of her gauntlets, while others were add-ons from Abel’s upgrades.
Wrist-mounted Guns: Can either discharge bullets at a rapid rate of fire similar to actual machine guns, or a less-ranged but more devastating shotgun blast. Aside from firing standard armor-piercing rounds, Blackswan can customize her gauntlets with incendiary/explosive bullets, as well as silver bullets (for supernatural beings) and UV rounds (specifically designed for vampires).
Metal Bolts: Aside from bullets, Blackswan’s gauntlets can also fire metal crossbow bolts made of hardened metal alloys, for stealth kills and other missions where she cannot rely on her typical ammo.
Missile Launchers: Both her gauntlets can also fire potent micro-rockets with an incredibly high explosive output despite their small size. These are homing, heat-seeking missiles, which automatically target an enemy’s/structure’s weakpoint. These missiles can either be armor-piercing, fragmentation explosives, incendary, ect, depending on what mission Blackswan is tackling at hand.
Laser Beams: Blackswan’s gauntlets can emit deadly red lasers which travel far, at incredibly fast speeds, and are able to pierce clean through fighter jets, tanks, and even the toughest of mechs. Inspired by the Illuminati’s laser cannons. She typically uses her lasers to cut through glass and vault doors to steal the contents on the other side.
Flamethrowers: Additionally, the gauntlets also house flamethrowers which emit potent streams of fire which can instantly melt away thick sheets of metal, including titanium and hardened alloys.
Deployable Weaponry: These include smokebombs, sonic grenades, shurikens, smart bombs, homemade explosives such as the pipe bombs she built for her and Abel’s heist at a Canadian Illuminati weapons depot, flashbangs, caltrops, and anything else she would normally throw using her hands.
Heated Blades: Another mode of Blackswan’s gauntlets, but suited for melee combat; when set to this function, a single blade will pop from her bracers. These have been shown to be incredibly sharp, allowing Blackswan to slice a werejackal, a wererat, various zombies, and several chupacabras into pieces with them during her and Abel’s fight against Cain’s troops. These wrist blades can be heated to temperatures up to 3,000F, enough to melt through titanium vaults and even higher, enough to burn monster flesh. Though the heat will not harm Mel herself, the blades will need to cool down before she can switch modes again to prevent damage to the gauntlet mechanisms. Thanks to the upgrades provided by Abel, her gauntlets can now tolerate increased temperatures for longer periods of time without their inner mechanisms sustaining damage.
Various Explosives: Blackswan is known to employ various types of explosive devices throughout her missions, depending on the specific mission at hand. These range from standard grenades and explosive pellets, to specialized smoke bombs, flashbangs, incendiary grenades, and other similar explosives. These may be deployed manually or launched from her gauntlets.
Smokebombs: Blackswan always carries a sizable assortment of smoke bombs that she typically uses to cover her escapes, leave tight situations, disorient her opponents, and create diversions.
Tear Gas Capsules: Carrying out a similar function as her smoke bombs, Blackswan may also use these capsules filled with highly concentrated tear gas, which cause temporary blindness, coughing, and incapacitation. They are particularly effective against multiple opponents for situations whenever she is vastly outnumbered.
Explosive Pellets: Micro-charges which she uses to destroy vault doors, reinforced doors and walls, and burst armored display cases and safes open. She can also use these explosives for creating instant openings and exits for quick getaways. These tiny pellets unleash explosions which can clear out an entire room full of enemies after they hit something upon being thrown.
Fire/Ice Grenades: Specialized grenades that when thrown or used, can either combust or freeze whatever they hit. Abel has also given her holy/blessed variants, which are effective against the demonic and beings of the dark, and creatures with immunity towards ordinary fire or ice.
Sonic Grenades: Part of her specialized explosives, these explosives emit intense sound waves which can knock enemies unconscious and even disable electronics. These can be particularly dangerous against people and non-human beings with enhanced hearing, like Beastking during their confrontation on the rooftops of New York.
Flashbangs: These emit bright blinding lights capable of blinding opponents and deafening soundwaves more powerful than those produced by her sonic grenades after being thrown.
Gold Cross Dagger: For whenever she encounters the unholy, demonic disciples of Cain or any other being of evil, Blackswan carries a small cross of solid gold that can shift and unfurl into an atom-splitting dagger, blessed by her lover, the Saint of Heroes himself. The blade can elongate even further, becoming a sword which Mel wields with ease, and emits holy golden flames for increased power. Her Cross Dagger has been proven to be among the very few objects capable of harming the Father of all Vampires himself, along with the Sword of the Spirit and the Sentinel Timepieces. Cain himself hisses at the blade whenever he sees it, just like how he does with Abel’s sword.
Indestructibility: Due to the various ores, metals and magic her dagger was forged from, Blackswan’s Gold Cross Dagger is an incredibly sharp and durable weapon. It is virtually indestructible and able to cut through any substance, including ghosts, spirits, even atoms and electrons. It is also immune to all magical enchantments of demonic nature.
Healing: As long as her dagger remains in her grasp, all of Blackswan’s wounds will heal and restore her elven body to optimal condition.
Mystical Link: Just like with the Sword of the Spirit, Blackswan’s Gold Cross Dagger has formed a mystical bond with its owner, allowing her to summon her dagger to her grasp, no matter the distance or barriers (including interdimensional ones) between them.
Stun Claws: The tips of Blackswan’s gloves are equipped with retractable reinforced razor-sharp metal claws which can cut through most materials, including fabric, rope, and even police-grade body armor. With her razor-sharp claws, Blackswan can scratch and slice her opponents, and also climb walls and other vertical surfaces. These claws also function as “stun guns”. They can fire blasts of electricity which can immobilize her enemies, leaving them at her mercy, override electric circuitry, and send opponents flying with built-up concussive force. Because of the enchantments within these claws, Blackswan is also capable of temporarily nullifying the abilities of a magical practitioner.
Short-range EMP Emitter: Blackswan wields a small EMP device that emits omni-directional EMP pulses which can wipe out security measures/systems, electronic devices, and high-tech weaponry such as Rex King’s Warsuit. She can also switch her EMP Emitter to focus on magic-based technologies.
Caltrops: Blackswan’s vast assortment of caltrops are usually the first thing she uses for distraction, diversion and getting pursuers off her back. While many of these are completely unmodified, various others are in fact, magitech devices with a wide range of applications, including paralysis, venom injection, small explosions, and more. These are deployed from metal balls which Mel chucks with her hands or launches from her gauntlets. Once they hit whatever she has targeted, the metal balls explode, releasing the actual caltrops themselves as they scatter across the floor. Her caltrops can puncture tires, shoes, and combat boots, making them useful for escape tactics.
Shurikens: Blackswan’s custom shurikens, black feather darts with razor-sharp metal tips, which she typically uses to knock enemies’ weapons out of their hands. She can throw them with such force and accuracy that she can pin her enemy to the wall and pierce steel. Updated versions of her shurikens feature bladed tips that have rocket propulsion, and can release either electric discharges or concentrated knockout gas.
Bolas: A throwing weapon consisting of a set of three weighted balls attached to strong cords, used by Blackswan to entangle enemies' legs and disable fleeing targets. Effective for immobilization without causing fatal injuries, perfect for capturing fleeing soldiers of the Confederacy whom she desires to interrogate.
Malebranche Whip (Stolen from Eisheth, minion of Lilith): An infernal whip originally belonging to one of Lilith’s lieutenants. It is the same type of whip used by fellow great succubi Naamah, Agrat, Mahalat, and the Mother of Sex Demons herself, and Blackswan stole Eisheth’s for her own use. It was formed from the spine of a dragon Cain had killed, then forged by Tubal-cain using the damned souls of nuns, which made it completely unbreakable, immutable and indestructible. As it is the same type of whip Lilith uses, it bears the same properties. It can change shape in accordance to Mel's wants and needs: it can resemble a bullwhip, a spiked ball-and-chain, or a cat-o-nine tails. In addition to being unbreakable, the whip is also infinitely elastic and can alter in length based on its wielder’s needs. It can channel hellfire, burning whoever it strikes. Those that are struck by the whip not only suffer physical damage, but are also drained of a portion of their life force with each strike. Blackswan has used this demonic whip to strike enemies with precision, grabbing things from a long distance, ensnaring enemies, pulling them in, and knocking them away. It also doubles as a grappling tool.
ACME POP! Gun (stolen from Wolfie the Toon Wolverine): An emergency back-up weapon, a comically-oversized pistol she stole from MJ’s toon animal member. It is a golden Colt SAA with a massive barrel and muzzle. It fires a single cartoonishly large bullet that will tear through reinforced armor and metal plating, signaled by a loud “POP!” To date, Blackswan has never used it on a living target, only against robots and cyborgs, and to bust open locks, chains, gates, and safes. This gun is so powerful, that the results of it being used against a living creature would guarantee messy red results, hence the reason she has refrained from using it on living beings. This said, she has however, used the gun to threaten and intimidate other people.
Various Dark Elf Weaponry: In all-out warfare situations when she cannot flee or escape, or otherwise when any of her usual weapons have been disabled in some way, Blackswan will employ modified versions of the weapons used by her fellow dark elves in times of war. Dark elf weaponry often employs a very specific munition that can unleash a small and temporary, but very powerful black hole that tears their unlucky enemies apart from the inside, AND sucks in anyone else in a 2-foot radius.
Non-Combat Related Gadgets: Various other items which assist Blackswan during her thieving missions and other adventures, which include:
Various Ziplines: An alternative to her main grappling hooks, Blackswan has been shown firing ziplines from other parts of her suit other than her gauntlets, most notably, the left & right sides of her waist via special compartments on her belt. Just like her main grappling hooks, these ziplines also allow her to get from one place to another, swing across buildings and wide gaps, and slow down her descents to reach lower levels from the rooftops of high skyscrapers. Also like with her main grappling hooks, she can use these back-up ziplines for combat, pulling enemies closer to her, launching herself at her foes while being propelled by her ziplines with great force, and as whiplike weapons.
Zipline Pulley: Like her grappling hooks, the zipline pulley is a device meant to get Blackswan from one place to another. When activated, it will fire a long and sturdy line that firmly attaches itself between opposite walls, allowing her to cross over wide gaps or reach lower levels.
Scanner: A monocular screen device, worn over her right eye, that Blackswan uses to get the interior layout of a building, starship or conglomerate, and know which rooms to avoid and which rooms may contain valuables for her to steal. It also functions as a comms device, allowing her to communicate with other people while she has it on. She can also use it to track potential targets during battle or assassinations, and scan any biological lifeform, identifying info such as age, race/species, sex, vital signs, power level, potential weaknesses, etc. Upgrades from Abel now allow her Scanner to identify and track supernatural creatures which would otherwise be unable to be tracked by electronic devices. When not in use, the scanner folds into a small cube attached to her right ear.
Mechanized Lockpick: A small, capsule-sized device that can unfurl and shift into several different picks and tension wrenches for a vast variety of mechanical and electronic locks. For breaking into safes, doors, and security systems.
Cryptographic Array: A phone-sized device that allows Blackswan to hack into information networks, bypass security terminals, listen in on radio transmissions and track down signals. She will often put this to use when in large-scale facilities or tracing potential opportunities for thievery.
Hacking Laptop: Blackswan’s personal customized PC laptop, decorated by several pink swan stickers on its hull. Some of its features include an absolutely untraceable IP Number, and cannot be hacked into by hostile parties. It functions better than the best high-end laptop on the market. From it, she scouts her next targets; new places, and people, from which to steal from, researching assassination targets and other people of interest, and for hacking purposes. And just like everyone else, Mel also uses her PC for internet scrolling during leisure time.
Spatial Belt: One of her many accessories she dons alongside her catsuit, clawed gloves, and gauntlets, Blackswan uses a professionally-modified utility belt, illegally gained from black market dealers, in exchange for the last heirloom of her family house (which Abel would eventually manage to track down and bring back to her). This belt is perhaps Blackswan’s most characteristic item in her entire repertoire after the Ondÿrhæll Gauntlets themselves. Multiple utility pouches containing various items which she may require in relation to the mission at hand, are attached to the belt. It has been equipped with the same Spatial Rift technologies used in the Multiversal Network’s starships, creating what is essentially a prehab-sized vault carried on her person at all times when she has the belt on her waist. Mel not only uses this belt to store vast amounts of stolen goods that no one person is capable of physically carrying, she also uses it to store an arsenal of modified dark elf weaponry in case a fight is unavoidable.
2nd Spatial Belt: Alongside her 2nd catsuit given to her by Abel during Christmas, Blackswan also gained a new Spatial Belt to go along with it. This belt is basically the same as her original one. However, this one has greater storage capacities, allowing Mel to store even more loot. Unlike her original spatial belt, this one also bears a gold belt buckle decorated with a black swan emblem.
Wormhole Discs: A quick but destructive way for Blackswan to gather up large amounts of goods in a very short amount of time. Inspired by the “black hole bullets” used by her fellow dark elves in wartime, these are small metal disks she will push into a vault via a hole she had previously made with either her laser or heated blades beforehand, before retreating a short distance away. Upon activation, the disk will release a temporary but powerful wormhole that will suck up everything within the vault and transfer it to her Spatial Belt. Because of the risk of potential damage to the loot, Mel only uses this as a last resort.
Dimensional Gate: A heavily-modified Blue Glass device with Hyperjump drive components and magitech based on Dimensional Magic, this device allows Blackswan to travel to other realities and expand her arsenal of tech, magical artifacts and stolen goods. The original version of her Dimensional Gate was what allowed her to cross the veil into the Monztarverse in the first place. The original version could only allow her to travel to a different reality once, as it would not possess enough energy to open a wormhole back to the Multiversal Network. However, during her stay in the Monztarverse, she and Abel together would construct far superior dimension-hopping devices that granted them the ability to traverse different realities simultaneously, and return without wasting much energy. Her Dimensional Gate is in the shape of a golden crucifix, while Abel’s is made to look like a black swan.
Meridiana’s Artifacts: These are items that were given to Blackswan by the ruler of Purgatory, and Abel’s niece, the good-natured daughter of Cain known as Meridiana. These are an invisibility cloak, which conceals her from all forms of detection from both mundane and supernatural beings, including Cain himself, and a necklace which shields her from all forms of mind-reading and psychic abilities, including Cain’s.
Blackswan’s Rides: Though she generally prefers her grappling lines and parkour skills as her main mode of “transportation,” Blackswan had made use of various vehicles throughout her thieving career and other exploits. Every self-respecting thief requires a good get-away vehicle, and Blackswan is no exception. Ranging from motorcycles, to interstellar starships, whatever vehicle she may choose, they all share the following characteristics. They are fast, untraceable, and elegant and high-class, just like her.
Jetpack: Integrated into the backside of her 2nd catsuit, is a collapsible jetpack which grants Mel the ability to travel longer distances than she can while on foot, to counter airborne threats, reach injured/distressed Undersider/Millennium Justice members faster, and to ambush enemies from above. Her jetpack features two large, black metallic wings that can also be used as shields, and small rockets for propulsion. When not in use, her jetpack collapses into a small compartment located on her 2nd catsuit’s upper back area.
Swanbike: Blackswan’s iconic customized sports hoverbike, and her favorite vehicle. A sleek, high-performance black hoverbike designed for speed, agility, and maneuverability. The Swanbike allows Mel to speed through narrow alleys and in-between larger vehicles, where police cruisers cannot follow. It is powered by custom silent running engines for stealth operations, which allow the swanbike to outpace all civilian vehicles, escape from pursuing Confederate vehicles as well as the fastest police cars from both her reality and the Monztarverse, and keep pace with pursuing Illuminati attack helicopters in flight. It is equipped with hidden compartments for weapons, gadgets, and loot storage. It also bears stylized purple lights that trail behind her as she moves at high speeds.
The Swanmobile: Blackswan’s trademark 4-wheeled vehicle, a modified, high-speed sports car with stealth capabilities. A recent acquisition, this was originally Rex King’s car, which she and Abel stole from him during the night when they had infiltrated one of the Illuminati’s arms & tech depots in the Canadian wilderness. Together with Abel, she has modified the vehicle to better suit her needs. It retains its original state-of-the-art defenses, including among other things; Bulletproof tires, armor plating and windows which can resist bomb and missile explosions, anti-laser/energy shields, and anti-EMP defenses, while the door handles can emit dangerously high watts of electricity to deter car thieves. New additions include integrated rocket boosters and fins for higher speeds and flight capabilities (it can cross distances from New York to the Mexican state of Sinaloa in mere minutes), angelic wards placed by Abel against supernatural attacks, an AI-assisted driving system, a cloaking device to avoid detection from law enforcement and enemies, a formidable weapons system that includes laser cannons, railguns, missile launchers, and caltrop dispensers for pursuing enemies and police, and remote-controlled functionality, allowing Blackswan to summon her vehicle from a distance. It still retains its original power windows, retractable headlights, sunroof, leather seats, and numerous other features one would expect a luxury car to have.
Mach-Wing (air/spacecraft): Originally a standard-issue Confederate star cruiser she and her fellow Undersiders stole during one of their many Confederate hunts, Blackswan had repurposed it into her trusted air & space transport vehicle. Like all her previous rides mentioned above, the Mach-Wing also sports a black swan motif. With enough room to house herself plus the rest of Undersider, plus many pounds of stolen loot, and any one of her other vehicles, Mel uses the Mach-Wing to prowl the vastness of the Multiversal Network and the cosmos of other realities beyond, mainly in search for worthy targets to steal and ransack from. It is equipped with an on-board computer and auto pilot mode that allows Mel to remotely control her ship. A common theme present in all of Blackswan’s rides, the Mach-Wing features stealth, anti-radar, and cloaking capabilities to avoid detection from enemy starships and tracking tech employed by security forces. It is capable of vertical take-offs and landings, and can enter hyperdrive speeds to cross the vastness of space. It is also equipped with a vast array of energy-based weaponry for combat situations. When Abel infused her craft’s energy cannons with some of his own angelic energy, he effectively transformed the ship into a one-cruiser space fleet capable of wiping out entire Confederate star fleets during their liberation of Dok’Kuumo.
Whitehorn: While Blackswan is obviously not the pure soul that her angelic beefcake is, she is certainly not the evil bloodthirsty maniac that Cain is. This means that for some mystical reason, she is able to touch (and steal) pieces of Abel’s armor along with his sword & shield. Due to this same reason (or maybe Whitehorn just likes her), this also grants Mel the ability to ride Abel’s mighty alicorn steed, thus, making her the 2nd person in all of Creation to ever ride atop Whitehorn’s back, after Abel. She can call upon Whitehorn at any time she desires to come to her aid.
Random Stolen Vehicles: During situations where she may not have access to any of her rides or Whitehorn, Blackswan will resort to car-jacking other people’s vehicles. Cars, motorbikes, hovercraft, boats, spacecraft, any vehicle is fair game. Notable mentions include the hoverbikes she had stolen during her first visit into the Monztarverse, Rex King’s car (which she turned into her Swanmobile), and an Illuminati attack helicopter. She also modifies whatever vehicle she obtains for increased speed, better handling, and stealth capabilities, characteristics common of her usual vehicles.
Toolkit (Powers):
Dark Elf Physical Attributes: Through years of survival and intense training, Blackswan has achieved the pinnacle of dark elf physical perfection. Like both her native reality’s dark elves and the dark elves of the Monztarverse, Blackswan displays greater strength, speed, durability, agility & reflexes, and stamina levels greater than that of even a peak-level human. Her physical attributes obviously exceed that of any Olympic-level athlete, which allows her to defeat Cain’s rank-and-file troops in combat without the assistance of mystical weaponry, and is superior to the likes of Batman and Captain America. Whenever facing any of Cain’s dark elves, she is always the winner. Beastking once commented that she is in "perfect physical health.” Her strength, speed, stamina, agility, reflexes, endurance, balance and coordination are in peak dark elf potential. She has performed amazing physical feats that no other dark elf can replicate due to her pinnacle physique. She regularly engages in intensive exercise regimens (including advanced calisthenics, weight lifting, gymnastics, and simulated combat) to keep herself in peak condition, and has often defeated/survived against opponents whose size, strength, or other powers greatly exceeded her own. Following Countess Bathory’s attempt against her life and resulting healing at the hands of Abel, Mel’s exposure to her lover’s healing energy has made her stronger and faster.
Extended Longevity/Decelerated Aging: Dark elves, while mortal, age at a rate far slower than humans, retaining their physical prime for far longer than humans and other mortal species, and live for far longer as well, at least for millions of years, making other beings falsely assume that dark elves are immortal, when in reality, they’re just really long-lived. This is also the same case for Blackswan, who is guaranteed to outlive all her fellow Undersiders, retain her physical prime far longer than they will, and may live on for another 5 million years. She has also most likely discovered some arcane tech that will extend her lifespan even longer. At some point in the future, Abel, unable to bear the idea of the woman of his heart dying, would bless her with true immortality, making her immortal just like him.
Enhanced Strength: Like all dark elves, Blackswan possesses incredibly high levels of strength and physical power. Unlike other members of her kind, and the Monztarverse’s dark elves for that matter, her strength is at the peak of dark elf potential, far beyond that of an ordinary female dark elf. Her muscles, like those of other elves in the Multiversal Network, are more akin to coils than tendons like in humans and other humanoids, springlike in shape, providing extra bursts of muscle power. During her exercise routines, she regularly bench-presses, squats, and curls weights that go above 100000 lbs without even flinching, and performs advanced calisthenics (one-arm push ups & pull-ups, squats with one leg, front levers, etc) with extra weight for increased difficulty, and practices gymnastic moves that would be considered impossible for any human gymnast to perform. She can casually lift an Abrams tank with a single arm, break metal chains, snap handcuffs and zip tie restraints with ease, smash stones barehanded, support over several pounds of rubble over her head to stop a building from collapsing, break a bearman’s arm, punch down thick metal doors, kick down trees with her legs, break/bend guns with her mere grip, smash through bulletproof glass, and rip apart prison bars with her bare hands. Mel has also demonstrated enough strength to easily overpower dozens of combatants at once, easily knocking out multiple street thugs and Illuminati footsoldiers with a single punch or kick, punch a man through a brick wall, effortlessly lift full-grown heavily-armed men in body armor into the air with one arm to then throw them away for several meters, toss T-800 Terminators around, tear off an airplane door in mid-flight with one arm, break into an Illuminati attack helicopter’s cockpit, pull down a speeding helicopter with a chain, yank a speeding Ferrari into the air, and beat the cybernetically-enhanced superhuman Rex King to near-death. She is also more than strong enough to pull a team of 10 guys over in a tug-o-war match with one arm and use heavy objects as weapons (car engines, tables, lamp posts, trees, motorcycles, etc), all performed with casual ease. Blackswan usually holds back, merely knocking out her enemies unconscious. Only in specific circumstances when the situation is dire and demands more from her, she reveals her true potential, and is capable of maiming her foes and causing internal injuries. By using highly effective muscle control, Blackswan can apply even greater force into her physical attacks, able to overpower even beings like the top-tiers in Cain and Lilith’s armies, as shown when she killed Eisheth Zenunim, one of the strongest succubi under Lilith’s employ.
Super Leaps: This strength also extends to the muscles in Blackswan’s toned legs, allowing her to execute her complicated acrobatics and parkour maneuvers. She runs with grace, leaping across skylines and trees alike, with extraordinary power and precision.
Enhanced Speed: Like her strength, Blackswan’s speed is at the peak of dark elf potential, far beyond that of an ordinary female elf. She can run and move at speeds beyond that of the finest human athletes. In combat, she is extremely agile and evasive, supplementing her strength with sheer speed to defeat her enemies. She can match Pussycat O’ War’s combat speed. She’s so fast that her punches and kicks are blurs in combat, and is typically shown and described as running and moving so fast that she is a blur. In short bursts, she can reach speeds reaching up to 340 mph. She can catch up with, and outrun speeding cars on foot, and is fast enough to speedblitz hordes of thugs and Confederates before they can even fire their weapons. No man or woman can shoot or even aim their guns fast enough to get a lock on her. Mel can outrun missile/bomb explosions, run faster than the NYPD could even see, caught up to a Confederate train, and moved faster than an Olympian had ever seen. She’s so quick, that she can change into her catsuit in seconds, and back again into civilian clothes just as quickly. From her perception, Blackswan can not only dodge bullets but see them in slow motion.
Supernatural Agility: Her agility is greater than that of a Chinese acrobat and superior to that of an Olympic-gold-medal athlete gymnast due to being a dark elf. Her training has brought her agility to peak levels of dark elf physical perfection, meaning that she outperforms even other dark elves in this. She can flawlessly coordinate her body with perfect balance, flexibility, and dexterity. Her main form of movement is parkour, which she uses to scale city rooftops in an acrobatic manner which even other master acrobats cannot replicate. She is capable of completing a triple somersault and running across thin wire cables with absolute ease. Mel regularly practices her agility by practicing gymnastics blindfolded. Likewise, her balance is shown to be flawlessly perfect when she runs across a thin wire cable and has a lot of mid-air maneuverability. She has shown multiple times to be able to jump very high and leap very far.
Supernatural Balance: Likewise, Blackswan’s balance and dexterity are at the peak of dark elf perfection. She has been shown to perform feats that rival those of Pussycat O’ War. Like her, Mel can stand on virtually any object, no matter how small or narrow. She can walk and run along narrow beams, wires, tightropes, pipes, and ledges with zero risk, and never loses her footing in unstable terrain or combat, even when struck or leaping about.
Supernatural Reflexes: Blackswan's reflexes are clearly and far superior to those of humans and even other dark elves. She can quickly react instantaneously to simultaneous attacks from multiple enemies and dodge rapid gunfire and laser blasts at point-blank range on many occasions, though she can be hit if there are too many to evade. Her Seismic Sense further aids in her already-fast reaction time. Mel herself has stated that she literally perceives bullets in slow motion, and likewise, human movements are also telegraphed to her in slow motion, as evident in another incident when she noted that it takes less than a second for her to cripple three men. She is also fast enough to catch grenades and throw them back at the enemy, catch a speeding baseball at the last moment, disarm multiple gangsters before any of them could pull the trigger, block a crossbow bolt from only five feet away, anticipate Pussycat O’ War, Libertina, and Alucardia’s attack patterns, and deflect several high-speed shurikens at once with one of her own feather shurikens.
Enhanced Durability/Resistance to Pain: Being a dark elf, Blackswan’s muscles and bones are far tougher and denser than those of humans, and possesses a higher pain tolerance than that of the average dark elf due to years of having to survive under Confederate occupation, making her extremely durable to certain degrees, particularly towards blunt-force trauma and temperature extremes. Dark elves, originally being a subterranean species that can live in areas closer to a planet’s core, are adapted for intense heat. Thus, Mel can tolerate hot climates and temperatures far better than most other beings. Augmented by her iron-forged willpower, she can tolerate massive amounts of physical pain and damage. She has learned how to essentially "turn off" her pain receptors to convince her brain she isn't feeling pain. Her physique, which is rigorously trained to the uttermost dark elf limit and is thus extremely tough and resistant to damage, allows her to survive dangers that would have killed most other elves, like being slammed straight through thick reinforced metal and concrete with little to no injury. She has been able to withstand beatings from metahumans and paradigms, such as the Confederacy’s “heroes” that the Undersiders often encounter, as well as attacks from Alleycat (who is superhuman), withstand a few blows during her tussles with Alucardia, Libertina Glory, and Pussycat O’ War (all being A-list heroes), and most notably, survive being choked out by Cain long enough to distract the Father of Vampires in order to leave him wide open for Abel. Against superpowered opponents who may possess strength equal to hers or are otherwise stronger than she is, Blackswan rolls with her enemies’ punches and kicks, so as to not take more damage than necessary. She can also survive falls of considerable height, such as atmospheric drops and falls, and is never injured from any of her absurd jumps and high-rise acrobatics. She can even survive atmospheric re-entry with only minor injuries (albeit using Abel’s shield to absorb most of the heat generated by her re-entering the atmosphere). She has also survived the force of having an entire building collapse on top of her. Blackswan's durability allows her to be completely unfazed by a chair being picked up and smashed against her head, as well as tank electric shocks that would have killed an African bull elephant. She can survive in the vacuum of space with nothing more than a steady supply of breathable air, and easily withstands being in planets with gravity that is greater than that of Earth’s. Blackswan’s durability however, isn't nearly as formidable against penetrative forces. She can be killed by knives, bullets, and energy beams that penetrate any of her vital organs. Otherwise, she is able to withstand being stabbed and shot at multiple times; she once took a bullet to the chest that narrowly missed her heart by inches, and lived, and kept on fighting after Pussycat O’ War had slashed one of her thighs with her claws. Mel’s durability may not be on the levels of high-tier beings like many of MJ’s and the Nightlighters’ most powerful members, but to make up for that, she expertly weaves around enemy attacks and projectiles with her unmatched agility, reflexes and speed. It is virtually impossible to catch or touch her.
Enhanced Metabolism: Blackswan's natural healing, metabolism, and immune system are superior to those of humans due to being a dark elf, which means that she can heal much faster than normal humans, though her healing ability is obviously not on Wolverine’s level. Her metabolism enables Mel to recover from mild to moderate injuries much faster than a human can. For instance, she can recover from minor ailments, such as a severe cold or fever within a few hours. More severe injuries, like broken bones, fractures, torn muscles, gunshot wounds, knife wounds, and puncture wounds, heal within a few days, whereas humans might take many weeks or even months to heal from such injuries.
Enhanced Stamina: Blackswan's highly trained and developed elven body generates considerably fewer fatigue toxins and is much more resistant to fatigue toxins than normal humans and elves, granting her exceptional endurance and lung capacity. In environments without breathable air such as underwater or outer space, she can hold her breath twice as long as the longest time a human can hold theirs (14 minutes). She is able to go entire months without the need for sleep, and for those moments when she really must sleep, she has mastered the art of power naps and evolved it into what she calls "microsleeping." Although these periods of sleep are shorter in duration (about an hour or so), they would be more replenishing and much harder to wake up from. This said, Mel would never say no to a good night’s sleep on Abel’s bed. Her advanced musculature produces fewer fatigue toxins during physical activity than that of a human or other being’s. This allows Blackswan to exert herself physically for much longer periods of time before fatigue begins to impair her. At her peak, Blackswan can physically exert herself at her peak capacity for many hours before the build-up of fatigue toxins in her blood begins to impair her. She has burgled and fought for days at a time without rest. She herself states to have the endurance of 10 men.
Supernatural Dexterity: As mentioned before, Blackswan’s body is at the absolute pinnacle of flexibility, agility, and dexterity. She can move her body and limbs with remarkable precision that far exceeds the capabilities of any gymnast, acrobat, and even other dark elves. This extends to her fingers and toes, with tendon strain not being a problem for her. She can precisely control her movements and muscles for various purposes. She can seamlessly slip through intricate laser grids, traverse narrow hazardous vents and tunnels, and juggle with flawless execution. She is virtually immune to tripping or losing her footing, and is able to maintain stability even on the most unstable surfaces, like moving vehicles and collapsing structures. Even in the rare case when she’s physically disrupted or pushed, Blackswan will quickly regain her balance and recover her footing. She can stand upright and steady herself on the most precarious terrain, whether it's during an earthquake or other turbulent conditions. This level of body control also allows her to perform feats like accurately firing a gun or throwing a knife at impossible angles.
Supernatural Beauty: Blackswan is a tall, well-endowed, long-legged, seductive, attractive dark elf with a husky purr of a voice, and clad in a catsuit that accentuates her athletic and highly voluptuous figure. Abel, whom countless sex goddesses, demonesses, and female vampires had tried to seduce him in the past, was instantly smitten the first moment he saw her, through recordings taken during her first robbery in his reality no less. He considers her the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. She can enchant and seduce any man or woman. She gladly uses her “assets” to her advantage, by sensually swaying her hips when she walks, and by constantly wearing the zipper of her catsuit down to her navel, exposing a large amount of her equally large breasts. This is meant to draw the eyes of her male opponents to her assets and leave them vulnerable. Some female opponents fall for this advantage too. Women want to be her. Men want to be with her. But Blackswan herself? She has eyes for only one man, Abel, whom she led astray with nothing but her good looks and hips alone.
Enhanced Senses: Blackswan’s senses, her eyesight and hearing in particular, are very keen. Those long ears of hers aren’t just for show. Like all elves, she has a very keen sense of hearing. She can hear a sniper load his weapon from across the street a block over, has heard Norea, Seth, and Meridiana eavesdropping on her and Abel from behind a reinforced metal door, can hear an alarm from three blocks away, and hear the subtle movements of mice running on the floor and bats flapping their wings. Her eyesight is similar to that of an eagle, allowing her to see even the slightest shifts in the air, enough to fight an invisible person. Her eyesight is particularly tuned to be able to detect the glint of hidden gleaming gems and other valuable items that are ripe for stealing. Her awareness, instincts, and senses combined make her extremely alert to danger, bordering on a sixth sense.
Subterranean Adaptability: The dark elves of the Multiversal Network, as well as Cain’s dark elves, were once a subterranean species that thrived underground, before ascending to the surface world. As such, Blackswan is able to survive and adapt to underground, stuffy, low-light terrene conditions, like caves, caverns, and underground tunnels. This grants her senses suited for subterranean environments, such as:
Nightvision: Mel, like other dark elves, is able to see in low-light conditions, as well as in total darkness, just as well as in the daytime, with her blue eyes giving off a bluish glow whenever she uses her nightvision.
Echolocation: Like bats and Monztarverse vampires, she also possesses an exceptionally advanced form of bat-like sonar. She is able to detect objects in her environment by sensing echoes from those objects, by actively creating and listening for sounds (tapping her fingers, raindrops, ticking from a watch, tumbling of a safe’s locks, rattling chains, a person’s heartbeat, etc). She can then interpret the sound waves reflected by nearby objects, accurately identifying their location and size.
Seismic Sense: Blackswan is able to pick up even the slightest vibrations through physical contact with the ground, enabling her to perceive her surroundings as precisely as she would with her eyesight. She is able to sense the structure and materials of solid substances, including the presence of caves, material changes, structural weaknesses, etc. This can also alert her of imminent earthquakes, as well as dangers such as burrowing enemies. Thanks to further training in this ability, Mel can not only just detect vibrations through the ground, but also through the air. This allows her to detect the movements of invisible/cloaked beings and anticipate their movements during combat. Her Seismic Sense also contributes to her absurdly fast reaction time. Thus, it is virtually impossible for someone to surprise Blackswan or sneak up on her.
Magical Abilities: Being the tech-savvy lady that she is, Blackswan is still a dark elf, a magical creature, with the potential to wield magic (mysticia, as her reality calls magic) of her own. She is knowledgeable enough to instantly identify magic being used against her and her allies and what type of magic it is, stating she can feel the sensation of it. During her time spent with Millennium Justice, she would even learn some spells of her own, including one for banishing demons and demonic spirits, and one for summoning mystical chains to subdue her enemies.
Clear Sight/Illusion Awareness: Blackswan possesses the ability to see through the Veil that separates the Supernatural World from the Mortal Plane, and can see through any illusion, no matter how powerful the illusion caster may be. Thus far, only Cain’s illusions had been able to override this ability. Still, this only works once, and Mel never falls for the same illusion twice in the rare cases she does get deceived by an illusion. Usually, she may not even be aware of what illusions an enemy is attempting to project.
Emotion Absorption & Empowerment: She can also absorb emotions from other people and beings, increasing in power and magical might as a result, while draining her target of their emotions as a result. While this can make her more powerful, this ability has a drawback: Mel can be affected psychologically by whatever emotions she absorbs if they are too intense (ex. anger may make her act more aggressive, sadness will overwhelm her with gloom.) Beings who lack emotions are immune to this ability.
Pain Magic (Limited): A form of magic exclusive to the Multiversal Network’s dark elves, Blackswan is able to wield Pain Magic. She was originally not as well-versed in pain magic as she is now, but after her time spent with Abel and MJ, she has been undertaking training in her magical abilities. She can inflict agonizing pain with magic, increase the pain she administers with her weapons, fists and feet, increase the pain, both physical and emotional, in her enemies, as well as suppress it, a method of healing. She can also transfer the pain she suffers back at her attacker.
Abilities:
"Thief? Hun, I prefer the term, 'Freelance Wealth Redistribution Specialist’." — Blackswan, on her greatest talent.
Genius-Level Intellect: Despite her lack of a proper education, Blackswan has demonstrated to be highly intelligent; one could argue that street smarts are her forte, as opposed to booksmarts, which supergenius characters like Rex King and her own dimension’s Osmosis tend to have. She processes information very quickly and efficiently, and excels at thinking outside of the box. Typical Blackswan plans, even improvised ones, tend to be brilliant, unusual, daring, and relying on her ability to predict the actions of her foes. She is regarded by Millennium Justice as their most cunning opponent. To aid her criminal pursuits, Mel has obtained study for various different fields of knowledge related to theft, assassinations, and anything else that may help further her goals.
Multilingualism: She knows multiple languages, and can learn new ones rather quickly compared to most people. Aside from her native Dark Elvenese and English, Blackswan is fluent in many other languages from her native reality, including the various other elven dialects, Galactic Manual, Aar'kin, Dwarf, Vampiric, and the Multiversal Network’s equivalents to Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, and various others (which gteatly assisted her in learning the human languages from Abel's world), along with something she’d describe to Abel as “Confederate Morse Code”. She also knows actual Morse Code. She has additionally learned Enochian (the angel language) from Abel, as well as other arcane tongues. She can also read lips.
Voice Mimicking: Via precise muscle control, Mel can also imitate other people’s voices and vocal tones with uncanny accuracy, perfect for undercover work, psychological manipulation, and infiltration. It’s easier for her to mimic another woman’s voice rather than a man’s voice.
Polymath: They say knowledge is power, and Blackswan took that phrase to heart. Despite the absence of a college, high school, or even primary education as a result of the Confederate occupation of her home-planet and resulting life of crime, Blackswan has read countless books and encyclopedias, and completely memorized their contents. She is competent in various subjects including Mathematics, various Sciences, History, Geography, Medicine, and is exceptionally knowledgeable in engineering, computer hacking, thievery, infiltration, assassinations, criminal science, and anything else that would prove useful to her line of work.
Photographic Memory: Mel has total recall and can remember just about anything in great detail, allowing her to recall every detail she encounters, remember everything she has ever learned, and remember every single theft and hit she has carried out. She has memorized every single face of all the crime bosses and gang leaders of her reality and the Monztarverse. She had also memorized the entire layout of Cain’s castle during her time as his prisoner, as well as the layouts of New York and other major cities on the Monztarverse Earth, and as well as various specific locations from her home-reality. She also remembers the spot where the Asri Estate once stood, which would be the same spot where she and Abel would build their love nest and raise their children.
Master Engineer: Ever since she was young, Blackswan has shown aptitudes for engineering, be it for fixing/modifying something, building something from scratch, or reverse engineer something. This had cemented her as the most reliable repairwoman among Dok’Kuumo’s upper-class. She has personally built and over time, improved upon her various sophisticated gadgets and weapons, most notably her Ondÿrhæll Gauntlets and Spatial Belt, her personal laptop, all her various personalized vehicles, and her and Abel’s highly-advanced reality-hopping devices. She has studied and reversed-engineered whatever tech other heroes and vigilantes employ for possible future confrontations. She often upgrades/equips whatever surplus tech she gets her hands on with magitech, for enhanced effectiveness. She is the Undersiders’ tech wiz, and is the person who provides them with their sophisticated weaponry and tech, and is also Millennium Justice’s illegal weapons & tech broker. Mel would also personally design and build Abel’s new upgraded armor, saw-shield, and shotgun-styled blaster, all enhanced with Star Metropolis tech.
Expert Hacker: Blackswan is an immensely formidable genius hacker and information broker, able to hack into just about any computer and information network, and learn what she needs from their databases. She has the ability and skills to access just about any file or record that has caught her eye, including redacted, sealed, or highly-encrypted files, on any planet, as well as radio frequencies, and bus, train, plane, and spaceship schedules. She is constantly hooked up into police radios, superhero comms, and news stations from the Multiversal Network and Monztarverse, so as to be up to date with all the goings on in her surroundings. Mel was able to hack into Millennium Justice’s info network, equipped with THE most advanced anti-hacking measures in any info network she had ever hacked into and powered by angelic, alien, and the most advanced of human technology. With her hacking skills, she can deactivate Tyrannoc security systems, reprogram various Major Supremebots into attacking each other, and hack into and steal all data and information from Prodigium, various Confederate & Illuminati bases, Area 52, the US Military Comms Grid, NORAD, and NASA, with ease. She can even hack into a Cain Army supercomputer. She routinely advises the rest of Undersider during infiltration missions that require hacking, and does so with Abel as well. She is the one who handles the technological aspects of certain missions whenever she and Abel are working together.
Forensic Science: Due to her being a criminal mastermind, as well as spending much of her life living in crime, this has ironically made Blackswan into an expert criminologist, having great insight and understanding of the Multiversal Network & Monztarverse’s criminals and their mindsets, as well as other high-profile threats such as supervillains like Rex King, Heatrix, and those hailing from her reality, which allows her to consistently undermine their operations with extreme effectiveness.
Medical Science: Blackswan holds an encyclopedia’s worth of information on human anatomy inside her mind, which also explains how she’s so efficient at killing humans. She can grievously maim a human being without killing them, for torture purposes. She is careful not to strike any vital organs, or tear off limbs. Likewise, she can prologue their suffering and grant them a truly agonizing death. This also obviously grants her first aid skills which she puts into good use whenever healing any potential human allies, usually those related to Abel in some way, as well as non-humans, her fellow Undersiders and even herself if need be. She can perfectly diagnose injury and cause of death in crime victims.
Occult Knowledge: With assistance from Abel, Blackswan has also been learning all she can about the occult, to better be able to defend against and combat the disciples of Cain and other creatures of darkness and evil. This includes knowledge on supernatural creatures, their lore, their strengths, powers and weaknesses, how to detect them, and killing/containment methods, as well as means of protection against black magic. Blackswan doesn’t usually rely on magic for the most part, but has nonetheless learned a few spells to counteract it, which she learned from Abel.
Master Tactician & Strategist: She is a master strategist and tactician who commonly utilizes extremely cunning tactics, strategies, and protocols to outwit her many foes, and carry out her many heists without ever being caught by security forces or heroes of justice. Being the Undersiders’ 2nd in command, she has shown capability to lead the group whenever Overdrive, the group’s actual leader, is unable to do so. Millennium Justice’s villains database files refer to her as “the most dangerous tactician to step foot on the planet". Indeed, Blackswan is known as one of the greatest strategists and tacticians in the entire Multiversal Network, and no one in the Monztarverse has come close to her level save for Pussycat O’ War, who has enhanced mental performance. Mel regularly outsmarts Alleycat, the Monztarverse’s resident master thief who is no slouch by any means, can match wits with Abel, has beaten Pussycat O’ War in chess, defeats entire Confederate squads by herself with strategies and not just firepower, and has even outsmarted Cain himself on occasion. For these reasons and more, she is listed as one of the greatest living strategists and tacticians in the entire multiverse.
Classy Cat-Burglar: Blackswan is the greatest thief in the Multiversal Network, and one of the greatest thieves in the greater multiverse (if not THE greatest one). Out of all her talents, this one became her way of life ever since her early years on Dok’Kuumo, and what allowed her to survive brutal years of Confederate occupation until she took the chance to explore the greater cosmos. She can crack safes, pickpocket, bypass security systems, and escape undetected with ease. She routinely pulls off the sort of complex thefts one would expect to see in the best heist movies, all by herself, without a crew. She will even steal from other thieves that get in her way, especially those committing more malicious crimes. She first began stealing food and water to survive, then graduated to small devices, and weapons, then began to reverse engineer whatever tech she could plunder to further aid her thievery and strike back harder at the Confederacy. Nowadays, Blackswan is infamously known throughout all of Totality for her burglary of gems, jewels, and other valuables of the highest quality, and most notably, bird-themed objects. At one point in her long life having to rely on theft to live another day, Blackswan continues to burgle not for monetary gain, but for the thrill of it, and for what she now considers the best part of her heists; when Abel comes in to “stop her.” Hardly one to knock over a bank, Blackswan would rather break into the chairman's office and take his personal documents. She's even capable of stealing Abel’s weapons and armor, all just to goad him into chasing her down. She’s also stolen various other MJ members’ weapons in previous instances, and even disarmed a minion of Lilith’s. Catwoman, Black Cat, Carmen Sandiego, Sly Cooper, and even Alleycat seem like mere amateurs when compared to Blackswan. Abel himself considers her a superior thief compared to his universe’s Robin Hood and Arsene Lupin, further stating that she would have "given them a run for their money….and taken it too." This said, she would never steal from the poor and downtrodden, only from the rich, the powerful, and the corrupt, and will go out of her way to help the poor and needy by giving them stolen food and valuables she takes from the rich and wasteful.
Master Spy: Her elite training under CYGNUS, alongside her dark elf physiology, have made Blackswan into a master of stealth, espionage, infiltration, and sabotage. She is capable of breaching very high-security facilities with ease and without ever being detected. Not even the most advanced security AIs will even notice she’s broken into whatever facility she has targeted for burglaring. No guard, security drone or watchdog will ever find her, unless SHE wants to be found, and the first idiot that finds her, will wish they hadn’t. Her stealth is so effective in fact, that her targets wouldn’t even know she was there until it was already too late. Mel’s remarkable speed and elven agility allow her to move away from the sight of others and stalk enemies from the shadows and higher vantage points. Blackswan’s stealth prowess is so great that she's capable of effortlessly breaking into a top-secret underground Illuminati arms & tech depot base several miles into the Canadian wilderness, infiltrating the President's White House, breaking and entering into the Pentagon instantly, entering and breaking out of prisons to rescue fellow captured Undersider members, breaking into various Millennium Justice bases, NYC’s oldest bank, one of Prodigium’s Yamato battleships, Major Supreme’s Fortress of Solitude, the Adam Family Mansion, the infamous Area 52, and even HEAVEN itself completely unnoticed. She has proven to be very familiar with military protocols and codes, as she casually anticipates and counters law enforcement/military tactics and strategies used against her. Blackswan also knows how to pick locks with her mouth. She once picked a lock to get into the White House, and can pick locks at military bases with just a Ballpoint pen.
Master of Stealth: Blackswan is as stealthy as any large cat hunting in the deep, darkened jungle. No ninja master could ever hope to rival her stealth skills. She has easily been able to sneak up on large groups of people, including cops and even other vigilantes on patrol, as well as evade them just as easily. She shows marked prowess in this ability while she's on the prowl for her next job. Most impressively, she can evade detection from even Cain’s minions, beings with super senses, as well as senses which mortals lack altogether, and even sneak up on Abel while he’s out on patrol, surprising him. She is the mastermind behind multiple successful high-profile burglaries without being noticed at all by the police or various hero teams, with Abel being the only one who is aware of Mel’s top-secret crime activities, and that’s because she wants it that way. Because of her stealth training and speed, Blackswan is known for appearing and disappearing when no one is looking, much like Van Helsing.
Master of Disguise: To help pull off her many capers, Blackswan has resorted to using disguises and aliases. She may apply makeup, wear different-colored wigs, either deepen or raise her voice, and also employ glamour charms that changes even what species she is, so as to remain unrecognizable by hostile parties, with said glamour charms being useful against mystical foes. She routinely uses multiple aliases to hide her real name. “Miss Noirfeather” is her public identity.
Master Seductress: Blackswan is an expert in the field of seduction, being infamously known to distract & bend many different men, and women, to her will and even get them to do her bidding for her using nothing else other than her sex appeal and dark elf charm. She often resorts to seducing other people to further her own goals. By showing off her curvy and toned body and speaking attractively, she can easily get a man into doing whatever she wants them to do, including committing crimes for her. She knows many flirting skills, using them in the suitable situation. She makes thugs and gang leaders fawn for her. Cops let her go and then daydream about her. Heroes let her get away with her crimes and have sexual fantasies about her. Other men may get to look at Blackswan, but only one gets to touch her, and that is Abel. She is the only woman in all of Existence who could ever seduce the mighty Abel and make him stumble with lust, something which not even female vampires and demonesses could ever do.
Carnal Master: Going hand in hand with her seduction skills, Blackswan also knows how to pleasure a man (and woman) under the sheets. Her strength, agility and stamina, combined with years of experience in laying with all sorts of partners who have been entranced by her dark elf charm, translates to immense prowess in the bedroom, to the point where all her previous partners before Abel could never last beyond mere minutes before they’d drop down absolutely tired and unable to continue. She gave Abel the night of his life during their first time together, and has since taught him how to please her in the ways she loves, effectively turning Abel into a sex master.
Expert Deceiver: Blackswan is a master of deception and lying, even being able to hide her true intentions from Cain himself, who is known as the King of Lies. Only a few select people can see through her lies, including Countess Bathory. Those who know her best describe her skills in the arts of deception as equivalent to Mozart’s in music. Blackswan has dwelled together with various thugs, killers, crime lords, and other sorts of unsavoury people, only to betray them once she had obtained what she wanted from them. She has been able to bend many men to her will and even get them to do her bidding for her, and would continue deceiving them through different means necessary if she still had a further use for them. Moreover, she displays an uncanny affinity for psychological manipulation and can mask her real emotions perfectly. She can also read people. Her incredible talents for deception also allows her to detect whenever someone else is lying to her. She lies to just about everyone else, but never to Abel, because he never gave up on her, and always spoke to her with the truth.
Escapology: Blackswan is a master escape artist, and says that escaping a straitjacket is child’s play for her. She has effortlessly escaped handcuffs specifically designed to resist her enhanced strength, casually on multiple occasions within seconds, even going as far as saying "they were a joke". There exists no prison that can contain her, and no cell which can cage her in. On one occasion, she quickly identified at least three ways to seamlessly escape her prison cell without requiring any tools or gadgets at all. She can even free herself from Cain’s tentacles. She also states that she has escaped "every conceivable death trap" at least a dozen times.
Master Acrobat: Blackswan is an elite acrobat and aerialist who surpasses other master acrobats like Van Helsing, Red Riding Hood, and is far superior to any Chinese acrobat and Olympic-level gymnast, often incorporating gymnastics and acrobatics into her fighting style as she fights various opponents. While Alleycat is considered the greatest human acrobat, Blackswan is regarded as the greatest non-human acrobat, which means that she surpasses all human acrobats. Only Pussycat O’ War, an augmented cat furry, is capable of rivaling her acrobatic abilities, something which Mel respects her for. Her immense limberness, combined with her dexterity and balance, allow her to perform a wide variety of gymnastic and acrobatic maneuvers that are impossible for humans, and even some non-humans, to perform. She has shown immense capabilities in freerunning, able to freely move about in both urban and wilderness environments in an extremely efficient and acrobatic manner, able to leap, climb and scale complex terrain and architecture with ease. In combat, she can twist, bend and contort to an extremely high degree, able to evade her enemies from multiple directions and counterattack just as quickly. She can perform impeccably precise acrobatic moves instinctively in combat and while escaping a catastrophe and can even dodge Cain’s attacks with acrobatics. She regularly practices gymnastics blindfolded.
Ghost of Dok’Kuumo/Universal-Class Killer: While she may not be on the same level as powerhouses like Commander Atlas and her angelic beefcake, Blackswan is nonetheless, one of Totality’s deadliest fighters and assassins, and is easily considered the best trained killer in all the Multiversal Network. To the point where Confederate soldiers, and as of late, Illuminati grunts, members of Rex King’s private army, various crime bosses from New York, and even a prominent Mexican drug lord are absolutely terrified of her. Considered one of the most dangerous criminals to ever step forth outside the Multiversal Network, Mel’s body count stretches into the thousands at minimum, with police forces theorizing her list of victims reaching well into the billions. She is capable of killing her victims in a variety of ways, with either her bare hands, or with various weapons, and even with unorthodox weaponry (ex. couches, ramming cars into her targets, etc), all while erasing any evidence that may lead back to her. Whenever soldiers of the Confederacy want to scare each other, they tell Blackswan stories. Her combat and assassination skills are 2nd to none.
Blacks-Ops Operator: Her training undertaken under CYGNUS, combined with her prior experiences against the Confederacy, and the lessons her own father had taught her since she was a wee little dark elf, have made Blackswan well-versed in various Special Ops disciplines including intelligence gathering, escape arts, assassinations, demolitions, survival tactics, hunting, swimming, mountaineering, cqb skills, map-making and reading, decoding cipher and other secret code messages, reading and making wood craft signs and other secret code languages, disguising, interrogation, computers, explosives, communication systems, vehicles and electronic equipment used in spec-ops armed forces. All this also assists her in her other skills.
Expert Tracker: Mel is an expert bounty hunter and is capable of hunting and finding any chosen bounty in urban environments, as well as in the wilderness. She was also already well-versed in hunting monsters prior to her meeting with Abel, as she would also often be paid for slaying dangerous creatures inhabiting her reality alongside the usual criminal scum she hunts.
Master Intimidator: Out of all the Undersiders, it is Blackswan who seems to inspire the most terror in all Confederates and anyone else who happens to find themselves on the receiving end of her wrath, perhaps even more so than the hulking fungus monstrosity that is Rancor. Even the people who know her best (except Abel) are intimidated by her. Whenever angry, her face morphs into “the stuff of nightmares,” a miasma of red-eyed glowing fury and a mouthful of sharp fangs. Mel regularly forces low-level criminals, police, Confederate & Illuminati grunts, and mediocre heroes to either submit to her or flee in terror. The better for her, as that means not having to engage in unnecessary fights. Even those who aren't afraid of Undersider’s more psychotic members, fear Blackswan. Her ability to inspire great fear in other beings has even made her eligible for induction into the Yellow Lantern Corps.
Master Inquisitor: Blackswan is adept at using interrogation techniques to extract answers from her captured quarry, be they Confederates or other people of interest. She often is the one who conducts Undersider’s interrogation sessions whenever they have captured people of interest. Her interrogation skills are such that she once even got a Chaos Space Marine to talk. She employs anything from law enforcement/military methods, to outright torture. Several techniques have been observed, including waterboarding, starving, sense deprivation, electrocution, burning, slicing her victim’s ear off, smashing their fingers with a hammer, hanging a person over the edge of a tall building by one leg, chaining a person upside down and beating them like a piñata, and other methods which shall not be named. Other times though, she simply seduces her victim, and uses her sex appeal to goad them to telling her everything she wants to know.
Master Combatant: Blackswan is one of the greatest fighters to step foot on the Monztarverse, and is considered one of the deadliest combatants among the dark elves. She is a highly-skilled martial artist due to her enhanced elven strength, agility, and speed, as well as her unpredictability. She is a master of the Ninja Arts, and the exotic martial styles of her people. Her fighting skills allow her to hold her own against a Jade Sister. She is a natural genius in fighting due to "her inherently violent nature." She can identify whatever martial arts her opponent uses against her, and come up with a devastating counterattack to put them down. She is also capable of deducing when opponents are holding back in a fight. She has honed her body through a thousand battles against all manner of opponents, ranging from low-life criminals, to rival thieves and hitmen trying to kill her, to cops trying to bring her in, to hostile aliens, to robots and cyborgs, to supervillains who want her dead, to cocky heroes attempting to make a name for themselves, and most recently, all the beings of darkness and evil which haunt the dark corners of humanity’s existence. Mel knows a technique called "language of combat," wherein she can communicate with others while fighting without speaking. Her fighting style, which various Millennium Justice members have referred to as "Dark Elf Capoeira”, resembles dancing. Both beautiful to look at, and deadly. Graceful and sensual, yet ferocious at the same time. Even Abel has been transfixed by it. It is her peculiar fighting style which has earned Mel her codename. She incorporates ninjutsu, black-ops military combative methods, and street-fighting techniques into her style of combat and is known to fight dirty, hitting enemies in the weakest parts of their bodies (ex. the crotch, stomach, armpits, and the head). During her time spent with Millennium Justice, Mel would further master more martial arts (boxing, muay thai, karate, jeet kune do, dragon style kung fu, hapkido, and jujutsu), as well as ansatsuken techniques, pressure point fighting from Abel, Amazon combat from Guardian Athena (she’s considered an honorary amazon due to this), monster hunter combative methods from Alucardia, and has even learned how to sense ki and use ki to enhance her physical attacks. She blends all this, along with her acrobatics, into one truly devastating fighting style. Blackswan can easily defeat a highly-trained Green Beret within seconds, defeat multiple groups of armed opponents, fight evenly against Abel’s human form during sparring sessions, and defeat enemies stronger than herself through the use of sheer skill. Being a capable fighter by herself, Blackswan is also a valuable team player, fighting alongside other people together as part of a team, especially when paired up with other Undersider members, and even more so when fighting by Abel’s side.
Weapons Master: She has used just about any weapon known to man and dark elf alike, being well-versed with every type of blade, firearm, explosive, and heavy military weapons like pistols, shotguns, automatic rifles, sniper rifles, grenades, tasers, rocket launchers, alien beam cannons, and even mystical weaponry. She is also experienced with daggers, shurikens, throwing knives, whips, swords, sticks, staffs, blowdarts, and arrows. Even something as simple as a mere pen, becomes a deadly weapon in her hands.
Improvised Weapons: An example of her resourcefulness, Mel has been known to use just about anything that’s not bolted down to win a fight, in addition to her plethora of actual weaponry, from glass bottles, tools, scrap metal, the contents of her own hauls, a couch, and in one occasion, a car engine.
Crack Shot: Blackswan is a bonafide markswoman on par with Van Helsing, Pussycat O’ War, fellow Undersider Apostate, and Hawkmoon. She is highly skilled in throwing projectiles, firearms, and archery. She is skilled with a wide variety of firearms, including her wrist-mounted gauntlets, handguns, sniper rifles, high-caliber assault rifles, bazookas, laser blasters, the firearms used by the dark elves, and energy beam weapons. She can shoot an apple over someone’s head with her eyes closed. She is equally skilled with the bow and arrow, as well as throwable projectiles such as ninja stars, throwing knives & tomahawks, and especially her trademark feather shurikens. She is capable of shooting at targets at far longer distances than what military snipers can accomplish, even whilst engaging several other opponents. She can shoot either to take down a target without killing them, maiming someone but still leaving them alive, and deliver the coup de grace to terminate them. She rarely ever misses her targets 9 times out of 10.
Fencing: While she prefers her barbed grapple lines as her usual melee weapons, Blackswan has also demonstrated proficiency with wielding bladed weapons in combat. She is an exceptional fencer, trained in both classical and street-style swordplay. Already experienced with knives, daggers, and her gauntlet blades, Abel would later train her in using swords. She favors the katana, which blends well with her fighting style, the same weapon their daughter would use as well. She can duel at an expert level when necessary, often combining her acrobatics with sword-fighting for unpredictable attacks.
Demolitions: Blackswan is an expert at bomb making, either making explosives from scratch, such as the pipe bombs she had made to use during her and Abel’s breach at a Canadian Illuminati underground tech depots, and modifying existing explosives for various effects. She can also disable timed explosives planted by enemies.
Expert Driver & Pilot: Blackswan is a highly skilled stunt & combat driver & pilot with many vehicles like cars, motorbikes, hovercraft, trucks, and is also skillful at driving jets, helicopters, motorboats & ships, submarines and starships. She was able to successfully pilot a Confederate starship for the first time many years ago while still on her homeplanet, the very same spaceship which would present her the key to her life of crime and the means to escape the hands of the Archfather’s rats. She is also obviously skilled at carjacking. She has even stolen Rex King’s car, which she eventually converted into her Swanmobile. If the need calls for it, she will take someone’s vehicle even while said vehicle is in movement. During an engagement against several Illuminati attack helicopters, she broke into the cockpit of one of the choppers while airborne, kicked its pilot out, and wasted no time in taking control of the machine while wasting the other helicopters with its missiles. She can successfully pursue her enemies, as well as escape from the law, through city streets, country roads, over & underwater, the sky, and in outer space, capable of keeping chase with incredibly fast supernatural targets, while successfully avoiding falling debris and can easily use various vehicles in combat as a one-woman army. She can kill enemies with vehicles, delivering sideswipes, reverses and head-on collisions to deal devastating damage.
Expert Rider: Thanks to Abel, and through time spent with Whitehorn, Blackswan has also become a highly skilled horseback rider.
Survival Instincts: Though naturally attuned to subterranean and darkened environments due to being a dark elf, Mel has excellent survival instincts and can quickly adapt to a wide variety of environments should she need to. She can survive anywhere, and anytime.
Queenpin Blackswan: She was once a scared little elf girl who had everything taken away from her. Her family was killed. Her kind enslaved and slaughtered. Everything Mel knew and loved, was burned down to rubble. In order to live, she was forced to survive by methods which in other circumstances, would have landed her several lifetime sentences. Gone was the frightful little girl who had to watch as humans destroyed her former way of life. In that girl’s place, now stands one of the most infamous criminal masterminds Totality has ever known. She has learned from the worst of the worst, the best in their respective criminal fields, and has had plenty of time to perfect her own criminal career. As mentioned before, thievery is her main line of work, the one thing which represents Blackswan the most. Following theft and burglary, she is also guilty of the following crimes: data & identity theft, serial robbery, first-degree murder, contract killing, assassinations, aggravated assault, kidnapping, torture, terrorism, cyberterrorism, forgery, racketeering, illegal arms possession & dealing, smuggling operations, espionage, money laundering, treason, sabotage, blackmailing, extortion, stalking, bribery, evidence tampering, vandalism, prison extractions, conspiracy, perjury (via proxies), vigilantism (something Abel himself is guilty of and would gladly remind him multiple times throughout their time together), illegal border hopping, illegal planet hopping, and as of late, illegal dimension hopping. Blackswan can commit the perfect crime by any means without ever being caught, and in the most effective ways possible, using anything at hand to do so, while leaving behind no evidence that may lead the authorities or hero teams back to her. This said, during certain instances, she may sometimes leave behind her calling card at her crime scenes, a piece of paper with a taunting message, followed by a drawing of a black swan. Even Millennium Justice, with all their experience and resources at their disposal, could never capture Mel. She has no mental/emotional issues or moral dilemmas either before, during or after she has done the deed. She commits crimes with perfect skill, technique, and timing, making Blackswan the ultimate criminal. With her criminal expertise, she would take away Rex King’s position as crime lord of New York, take control of the Mexican drug trade, and become the undisputed crime queen of the entire North American continent in the Monztarverse Earth.
Leadership: Blackswan has influenced many, and with intimidation, forced even more people to join her and carry out her bidding. She routinely uses intimidation and psychological manipulation to strike fear into her subordinates, but is ultimately a much more fair crime boss than Rex King ever was. Mobs, gangs, and lone criminals alike are required to hand Blackswan 40% of their profits monthly, as opposed to Rex’s 90% monthly quotas. They must also follow three simple rules she has instated; No prostitution. No sex trafficking, and no selling drugs to children. In exchange, she grants them protection from the cops, Rex King, AND Millennium Justice. In mere hours before her 2nd date with Abel, she brought together the rest of New York’s gang leaders, killed several of their lieutenants in order to properly get her message across, and formed a new criminal empire composed of gangsters and thugs that became fiercely loyal to her. The crime rate in Blackswan’s turf, formerly Rex King’s turf, has actually gone down instead of increasing, thanks to her.
Vast Wealth and Resources: Blackswan has access to vast wealth and countless resources that she has acquired through her criminal enterprises, using this immense amount of money to among other things, fund Undersider’s continuous anti-Confederate operations, purchase weapons and other supplies for Undersider, hire henchmen, bribe public officials, police officers, and superheroes not aligned with Millennium Justice, and purchase several abandoned properties throughout New York and other key locations throughout her and Abel’s realities and beyond, to serve as her hideouts.
Network: Mel, as a powerful and influential crime lord, uses a dense network of contacts throughout the Multiversal Network and Monztarverse to further her criminal ambitions. Her relationship with Abel and resulting association with Millennium Justice, also grants her a very important contact with the hero community, which ultimately also serves her to further her own ambitions, though comes in handy whenever she wishes to dispatch the competition, and far more violent supervillains that attempt to encroach on her operations.
Graceful Dancer: Blackswan is a profound dancer of various genres, and her fighting style reflects this. She was taught ballet as a child. One of her most favorite things to do with Abel is dancing, and loves dancing with him at his concerts. She even appears in some of his music videos, albeit disguised.
Art Talents: She is also a talented artist. As a child, she would enjoy landscape painting of what she imagined Dok’Kuumo used to look like before pollution had its way with the environment. Nowadays, she has taken up this hobby once again due to Abel’s encouragement. He too paints and draws alongside her.
Indomitable Will: Blackswan is a very strong-willed woman, this being one of the reasons why Abel fell in love with her. Her determination and strength of will makes her an extremely formidable opponent. The suffering she endured on Dok’Kuumo forged her legendary willpower, which would go on to launch her into becoming the Multiversal Network’s legendary master thief and criminal. She hates being the damsel in distress; rather than wait for her knight in shining armor to arrive, she’ll find a way to free herself, regroup with Abel, and fight alongside him against whoever tried to cage her in. Her strength of will makes her able to function while tolerating massive amounts of physical pain, and also allows her to resist telepathy, possession and mind control.
Weaknesses:
Oranges: This may be perhaps this dark elf’s number 1 weakness. She absolutely despises oranges, and will not eat any if her soul depends on it. She can’t stand their citrus. The mere taste of orange is enough to make her violently gag. Lilith once tried to impersonate Mel. Her eating oranges was the one thing that tipped Abel off.
Kleptomania: She has a strong impulse to steal things. Theft stopped being a means for survival a long time ago for Blackswan, and is certainly more than just a job for her these days. She is addicted to the thrill that her heists bring forth, especially high-risk ones. The fact that Abel has reformed her doesn’t mean that Mel will ever stop stealing things any time soon, though she is now more willing to use her main talent for the greater good, rather than just for her own selfish gains.
Limited Durability: Despite her high durability, Blackswan is still vulnerable to very sharp objects, as well as extreme cold, and attacks from beings with very high power levels. Her natural healing capabilities can be overridden by certain bio-engineered/supernatural diseases and toxins, as well as venom and poisons strong enough to override her immune system. If any of her vital organs suffer excruciating damage, then she will perish. Decapitation and suffocation are guaranteed methods of killing Blackswan. She, however, usually compensates for this quite well with her masterful combat skills, superior physical condition, her numerous weapons and gadgets, and lethal accuracy.
Magic: Despite being a magical being, Mel is still vulnerable to magic-based attacks and weapons just like any mortal. She can be cut and wounded by magically-imbued weapons, restrained by magically-imbed ropes/chains or enchantments, and she is vulnerable to mystical attacks and spells used against her. Fortunately though, ever since meeting Abel and Company, she has been undertaking training in the magical arts in order to counteract the effects of magic attacks used against her.
Beings of Equal/Greater Power: She may be stronger and more powerful than the average dark elf, but Blackswan can be felled by opponents of superior power without having to rely on her specific weaknesses to defeat her. There are weights she cannot lift, speeds she cannot reach, and a skilled enough fighter can take her down. Powerhouses like her Abel, Commander Atlas, Arthur of the Alpha Stars, and Major Supreme can and will defeat her in a direct fight, and likewise, she absolutely stands no chance against Cain in a head-on confrontation.
Abel: Oranges are her number 1 weakness, but her beloved Abel has become Mel’s most prominent weakness yet, just like how she is to him. His sweet whispered words into her ears, a loving massage, his mighty arms holding her close, and other things, will leave this normally-ruthless thief like a lovelorn college girl being romanced by her crush. Abel is also the only person who can snap her out of her berserker rage whenever she is spilling Confederate blood. Blackswan considers Abel her “moral compass” and “her future.” He has helped her in ways that Abel himself doesn’t even realize. If something were to happen to him, then Mel would relapse in a very, VERY bad way, with no hope of ever turning back, and become even worse of a villain than she was before.
Blackswan's Personality and Backstory:
"Never quit. Never let them see you're afraid. Never let them see you're hurt. Never let them see you cry. Never." — Blackswan's personal motto.
Personality: This sultry dark elf with a love for art deco, film noir, and jazz music, is far from being the heroic sort that Abel is. So different, yet at the same time, complementing each other so well. Drawing the fine line between hero and criminal, Blackswan is a master thief, ambiguous hero, sometimes villain, once a deadly adversary of Millennium Justice to then become in her own words, a “part-time” member, and is Abel’s lover and most devoted ally, despite starting out as a bitter enemy of his (partly due to Cain’s manipulations). Yet, ironically, it was Cain, (and Mel’s own ex before Abel), who brought them together. Although originally adopting cat burglary as means of survival on a harsh, cruel world governed by deranged human fascists, in a greater uncaring cosmos, Mel grew to enjoy the thrill of the chase, the highs brought about by illegally obtaining some valuable object, and continued to steal more and more, for no other reason than sheer thrill-seeking. Throughout her time spent with Abel however, her reasons for stealing would later become more altruistic, stealing from the rich to give to the poor, as opposed to just her own hedonistic reasons alone. She became something akin to an elven Robin Hood. She prides herself in being the Multiversal Network’s greatest thief, and one of the best in all of Totality. As part of the high-risk lifestyle of being a thief, Mel would willingly place herself within dangerous and life-threatening situations for little reason than for the thrill of it all, knowing well that she can weasel herself out of such situations with ease, which she does, leaving her pursuers, be they the cops or other heroes from all corners of Totality, behind in shame, laughing at their incompetence in failing at bringing her in. She finds her games of cat and mouse between her and Abel to be invigorating, and considers her favorite part of all her heists overall, Abel being sent out to “stop her”, Abel catching her in the act, to then “apprehend her.” This is actually how most of their dates go; with her breaking into some sort of jewelry store or other place with valuables, Abel coming out to stop her, and the rest is best left to the imagination. She herself admits that her heists aren’t as fun when Abel’s not chasing her down.
Ever since she was a child and well into her teens, Mel was forced to survive in a ruined, Confederate-occupied homeplanet by unfavourable means such as stealing and looting, something which would later lay the foundation for her criminal career after the chance to leave her planet behind presented itself. All her prior life experiences would forge Mel into one of the greatest criminal masterminds the Multiversal Network & Monztarverse have ever seen. Weapons trafficking, hacking and selling of classified data, assassinations, and her main talent, theft, there is no crime under the sun Blackswan hasn’t committed. Rivaling her outer dark elf beauty, lies a most merciless and bloodthirsty nature and hatred for mankind Mel keeps in check with a seductive, playful and snarky disposition. She bears a ruthlessness that surpasses that of even the most seasoned crime lord and mafia don, which effectively has left other notorious criminals fearful of her, some even having nightmares about her, and innumerable hordes of Confederate grunts and Illuminati footsoldiers dead as wormfood. She runs New York and North America’s underworld with a combination of charisma and intimidation. She became a queenpin, to keep far worse monsters on the streets in check, managing to steal Rex King’s turf in the process. This is just one of her ways of administering justice. Like Abel, she does care about justice, but her brand of justice. For the most part, Mel does her best to avoid killing enemies and adding more names to her already-long bodycount when possible, preferring to merely knock out her foes unconscious unless her life is in danger. When the need calls for it, though, she will kill other people, either delivering them a fast, painless death, or making their last moments as tortuous, gory, and painful as possible. Whenever Millennium Justice requires someone who is willing to break the rules, she is their main woman in that regard.
All this said, Mel does operate under her own code of honor, and there are lines which she would never dare cross; Rob from the needy, downtrodden and less fortunate, as she herself was once this. Never place the lives of civilians, especially children, in danger. Never kill civilians, and never turn her back away from a woman in distress, especially when it’s caused by a man. She has shown care towards other people, such as her fellow Undersiders, especially Rancor, whom out of all the Undersiders group members, she wants to kill the least, and Apostate, who is essentially Mel’s mother figure, to the point where Rancor and Apostate would end up becoming godfather and nanny to her and Abel’s children respectively. Her relationship with other Millennium Justice members aside from Abel is essentially the “Go-Karting with Bowser” trope. She will never fully commit to being a hero like them, and sometimes even steals things from them, usually whenever she requires any of their mystical weapons, and at other times, as a means of trolling. But when the chips are down, she will gladly join them in the battle against evil. Aside from Abel, she would also grow close with Beastking, Red Riding Hood, and Pussycat O’ War. She’s one of the few who didn’t see Beastking as a monster the first time they spoke, and was the one who helped Beastking and Red be together with their respective partners, and Pussycat O’ War, a fellow gadgeteer of a similar criminal background, is her current supplier of weapons and tech, sending her surplus Prodigium tech via Abel. Nonetheless, Blackswan is still a bonafide criminal, albeit a more anti-heroic one, and enjoys her reputation as such, often referring to herself as Abel’s “criminal baddie”.
Due to her prior experiences with the Confederacy of Men and Hugh di Angelo, Mel once despised humans with every ounce of her heart, especially men, and most notably, Confederate soldiers. While she can control her bloodlust, Mel would often carry out massacres and mass murders of thousands of Confederates alongside the rest of Undersider, killing them in the most gruesome ways. It was humans who killed her family, burned her family’s estate down to the ground, enslaved the planet she once called home. It was an insecure human man, who, seduced by the words and propaganda of that same exact damned fascist regime that was responsible for attacking her home and taking everything away from her, attempted to take her life. While capable of showing respect towards humans who have earned it, she would remain cold and distant towards humanity. It was Blackswan’s hatred for mankind, which allowed Cain to deceive her and temporarily turn her into an enemy of Abel’s. Her time with Abel would slowly, but surely help her move past her hatred towards mankind, for the man she loves was once human too. Just like how humans have the capability to do great evil, they can also be good, and do good, just like how non-humans, like Cain, bring about great evil, which makes others submit to the “vice of Cain”.
Alongside humans, Mel has also shown disdain towards superheroes, or the “losers in spandex” as she calls them, regarding them as a plague upon the cosmos just like humans. Her reason for such was the fact that no hero from her reality intervened to save her planet from the Confederacy’s invasion. However, that was actually due to interstellar laws which prohibited heroes from elsewhere in the Multiversal Network from interfering, not because they didn’t want to help. Rather, asinine galactic laws wouldn’t have allowed it. Prior to her time with Abel and Millennium Justice, her reality’s Nightlighters, and their leader, Commander Atlas, were the only hero team she somewhat respected. Millennium Justice became the only hero team she had decided to associate with. While she does respect the rest of Millennium Justice and their assorted allies nowadays, Mel considers only one man worthy of being called a hero, and that is Abel. Mel has had a lifelong distrust towards deities and authority figures, especially obstructive ones, as well as those who use their power and authority to bully the weak and disfranchised, while looking the other way as the Confederacy and their associates wreak havoc, with the only authority figures she has ever respected being Adam & Eve, Abel’s parents. This would even lead to her calling out GOD HIMSELF, for making Abel into his divine bringer of punishment in the ancient past. She hates being ordered around, and being told what to do, especially by people she considers incompetent.
Despite her faults, Mel’s love for Abel is true. Despite standing on opposite sides of the morality spectrum, these two became one of the most enduring couples ever known. Being the flagship couple of Monztarverse Chronicles, this is to be expected. She was even willing to stay in the Monztarverse permanently, if that meant she’d get to stay with Abel. They weren’t always the loving couple they are now. Still, despite their initial status as enemies, Mel did always consider Abel more physically attractive than all her previous lovers. Cain’s meddling in their affairs was the origins behind the misunderstandings between Abel and Mel, and over time, after Abel has freed her from his brother’s clutches, he and Mel went from enemies, to lovers. She is devoted to her man, always sharing half of the wealth she makes from her thievery with him. Abel is so much different from Mel’s past lovers; A centuries-old warrior angel bound to the divine mission God had entrusted him, and is the Monztarverse’s greatest hero. Blackswan on the other hand, is her reality’s most infamous thief and master criminal, morally gray, and the perfect outlaw. Yet, she is so drawn to Abel’s genuine kindness and his heart of gold. Abel was the first man who never attempted to take advantage of her in any way or control her. She respects his morals, gives him tools to support his mission, even encourages him to never stop being a hero (and considers Abel to be the only person worthy of being called as such), and appreciates the fact that he still sees good in her, despite everything she’s done. For ages, Abel had refused relationships with other women due to his celibate vows, devotion to his mission, and due to his fear of Cain hurting the woman he loves, to hurt him. Yet, Mel made him break his vows, and entered his heart, and has even learned the mystic arts to prove to Abel that she won’t be a liability in the war against Cain. She adores Abel’s adopted kids, and in time, would be blessed with children of their own to care for. Their dynamic includes plenty of teasing from her part, but all in good fun. They cannot keep their hands off each other for long, and in the moments when they do, one can cut the sexual tension with a knife. Abel’s love has changed Mel, a fact she herself acknowledges, and for the better, in ways Abel himself doesn’t even realize.
Backstory: Melleryth Asri, known to her lover and her few friends as “Mel”, and known as “Blackswan” by her VERY long list of enemies, is a morally ambiguous master thief whose goals range from pure self-interest to large-scale charity depending on her mood. She is a character hailing from Blastmasterism324’s Savage Beautiful Worlds, once an antagonist who would eventually assume a more protagonic role in the Monztarverse mythos, as a “part-time” member of Millennium Justice, and most notably, as Abel’s love interest. Born and raised on the notorious dark elf colony planet Dok’Kuumo, she endured a childhood marked by human prejudice, poverty and desperation, and learned quickly to survive by her own wits. Unfettered by morals, ruthless with whoever gets in her way, and constantly walking the dangerously thin line between hero and villain, Blackswan steals not for monetary gain, but for the thrill of the danger and the joy of getting her hands on a neat new trinket as she travels across realities. Never shying away from a challenge, her stealth and agility as a multiversal-class criminal, and her mastery of the martial arts, make her a formidable opponent. Ultimately, Mel holds no allegiance to anyone but herself, and the select few she cares about, especially Abel. This is her tale.
Blackswan is a dark elf, the same type of creature as the dark elves that form part of the Unseelie Court and Cain’s Armies. While similar in many ways, there are differences between the Multiversal Network’s dark elves, and the Monztarverse’s, despite being the same race of beings. The dark elves of the Monztarverse, or the “dökkálfar”, are gray-skinned like Blackswan. While Mel’s people bear inhuman beauty and glamour that captivates humans, the bodies of the dökkálfar have been twisted by eons of Cain’s corrupting essence. Monztarverse dark elves are of similar height to children, and hunched, resembling gnomes more than elves, and have lanky limbs that end in razor-sharp claws. They lack horns like the Network’s dark elves, and instead possess more pronounced fangs, have nostrils instead of human-like noses, and glowing yellow eyes. Mel’s people are much more statuesque. Both Mel’s kind and the dökkálfar possess the characteristic elven long ears. The Monztarverse’s dark elves are skilled in black magic, and like the Network’s dark elves, possess enhanced strength and other physical attributes, as well as being able to thrive underground and in other darkened places. The Dark elves of the Multiversal Network have left their evil ways behind a long time ago, while the dark elves of the Monztarverse are sinister beings of evil. Now, onto Blackswan’s story.
As a child, Mel, heiress to the immensely wealthy Asri Estate on the dark elf colony world Dok’Kuumo. lived a life of privilege, showing prodigious talent in engineering from a young age, even building an electric generator at just twelve (1 year old by dark elf standards), while also nurturing a love for ballet and art, painting the beauty of a world already lost to pollution and decay; once a lush, mountainous planet, Dok’Kuumo had become a crime-ridden, smog-choked husk after economic collapse, where violence, and oppression from the upper classes towards the less wealthy was so common, they became normalized by the dark elves, and though House Asri had escaped the worst of the economic crisis, a deeper fracture emerged between her father Evo, a compassionate idealist not unlike Abel, who sought to use the family wealth to uplift the suffering masses, and her pragmatic uncle Urizah, who prioritized preserving their status and resources. Even after everything that would follow, Mel would still have fond memories of her uncle. Shortly after her 31st birthday (3 years old by dark elf standards), a human “visitor” arrived on Dok’Kuumo, offering salvation to the dark elves in exchange for Dok’Kuumo’s ores and raw minerals. This deal proved catastrophic, as Dok’Kuumo’s governors soon found out, as that man represented the Confederacy of Men, a human-led, fascist, expansionist galactic regime that wasted no time in enslaving the dark elves, stripping their planet of all its resources, poisoned whatever fertile land and water was left with their factories, and ruled through fear, surveillance, and unimaginable atrocities, sparing only Dok’Kuumo’s wealthy elite from the worst suffering, a reality Urizah quickly adapted to for the sake of House Asri’s survival and prosperity. Evo on the other hand, uncovering the Confederacy’s true genocidal intent, resolved to resist the Confederacy at all costs, secretly organizing an uprising and passing his knowledge down to Mel should the worst happen. Urizah, convinced that rebellion would doom House Asri and all their fellow wealthy elites instead of just the lower classes, steeled himself to stop his brother from destroying what little security they had left.
On the night the long-planned rebellion was meant to begin, Urizah sold out his own family, leading the Confederacy of Men’s occupation force straight to Evo’s hidden base underneath the Asri Estate, where Confederate soldiers stormed in and massacred the rebel dark elves with brutal efficiency. Horrified, Urizah tried to stop the slaughter he never intended, only to be killed alongside the rest of the condemned, as Evo and his movement perished in the flames of the collapsing Asri Mansion, while Confederate soldiers celebrated their victory. Only one elf had managed to flee, little Mel, who escaped into the harsh Confederate-occupied undercities of Dok’Kuumo as a hunted child, growing up into her race’s teens, forced to endure a life of violence, theft, and survival in the shadows while evading patrols, their vehicles, and the Confederate warhounds bred to hunt her kind, gradually honing her skills as she scavenged, stole, and engineered her own arsenal of gadgets and weaponry, transforming into a cunning and resourceful thief. Her sabotage of Confederate operations, disrupting tech, stealing supplies, and dismantling their infrastructure, provoked brutal reprisals against innocent dark elves, escalating into a deadly game of retaliation that earned her the name of “Ghost of Dok’Kuumo,” culminating in a chilling message spelled out with the mutilated bodies of soldiers she had been kidnapping, “I’M NOT DONE” which spread fear across the occupiers and inspired scattered pockets of resistance, even as Mel herself grew conflicted, realizing her actions both resisted oppression and worsened the suffering of her people, ultimately deciding that survival meant escape, not heroism. When a Confederate starship arrived, she seized her chance, infiltrating it and, through trial and error, used its devastating weaponry against her enemies in a legendary rampage that obliterated the Confederates, before finally escaping the planet that had become a graveyard of everything she loved, leaving behind a world still suffering under Confederate occupation while she entered the vast, lawless cosmic underworld, ready to embrace a life of crime and independence, rejecting the so-called heroes she believed had abandoned her people, and committing herself fully to the path of a master thief in a universe far larger than she could have ever imagined.
Thus, Mel would vanish into the Multiversal Network’s vast star-spanning criminal underground for years, forging a life of survival, grit, and relentless self-reinvention. She embedded herself amongst gangs, cartels, and mobs, only to outmaneuver and outlive them once after they had no more use to her. She mastered martial arts, armed combat, and the trades of thieves, assassins, and bounty hunters while committing countless crimes of her own along the way, all in service of staying alive in a cold, indifferent vast cosmos, steadily expanding her arsenal with stolen and bartered tech, including a modified utility belt infused with illegal “Spatial Rift” technology that became a personal vault for her ever-growing collection of tools, each advancement making her more efficient, more daring, and more untouchable, until the frightened child she once was disappeared entirely, replaced by a hardened, cunning, and morally-unrestrained woman whose seductive charm and razor-sharp wit drew both admirers and opportunists alike. To the Multiversal Network’s criminal underworld scene, she became a sought-after infiltrator, thief, and killer, capable of stealing from anyone, crime syndicates, planetary governments, superhero teams, and even galactic empires, eventually embracing the work she once merely tolerated, and carving out a legend that mirrored that of Abel’s rise as a legend amongst heroes, in inverse, as her future codename of “Blackswan” would spread far and wide across the cosmos, as one of the most notorious of criminals for heroes and police forces to confront, and as one of the most dangerous enemies of the Confederacy of Men, a near-mythical outlaw who built herself from nothing and struck with ruthless precision, all while dismantling Confederate forces wherever she found them. Her reputation would eventually catch the attention of S.I.R.I.U.S, a covert interstellar agency, and though wary of humanity, she joined their black-ops division, CYGNUS, quickly rising among the ranks as one of their most lethal agents. It was precisely during her time with CYGNUS, where Mel earned her codename of “Blackswan” for her graceful yet deadly dance-like fighting style. She gained access to even greater technology to perfect her craft, but her time with CYGNUS ended as abruptly as it began, when she defected mid-mission under mysterious and conflicting circumstances, whether due to prejudice, pragmatism, boredom, or a secret too dark to bear, ultimately returning to her solitary life of crime, more distrustful of humanity than ever and fully committed to the path of the thief she had chosen.
Before Abel ever entered her life, there was another man who once held Blackswan’s heart. One night, while engaging in a burglary at a magitech tycoon’s estate, she came upon his son Hugh di Angelo, an overlooked and insecure heir whose brilliance went unrecognized. After initially robbing his datapad, Mel was unexpectedly moved by his personal struggles and returned his work, sparking a connection that grew through shared intellect and mutual loneliness into a romance, with Hugh supplying her with resources and helping refine her technology, most notably, aiding in the creation of her magnum opus, the Ondÿrhæll Gauntlets, while Mel helped him realize his potential, and for a time she even considered abandoning her life of crime for him. Unfortunately, Hugh’s deep-seated insecurity and craving for validation would slowly poison their relationship, which made him drive towards the propaganda of the Confederacy of Men, which fed his desire for importance and twisted his perception of both himself and Mel, leading to increasing resentment, arguments, and eventual estrangement, as he came to see her as someone who only took from him. When his family discovered his involvement with her and cast him out, Hugh, consumed by bitterness and fascist indoctrination, attempted to murder Mel in her sleep, an act she narrowly survived, leaving her shattered and unable to fully process the betrayal of the man she once loved, ultimately abandoning him, their life together, and any remaining trust she had in humanity, convinced that mankind was fundamentally destructive and self-serving, even as she begrudgingly acknowledged that her time with Hugh had helped her rediscover the thrill and freedom she truly lived for as a thief. Some time later, Blackswan found herself entangled in the antics of a “temporary alliance” (as put by the official “founder”) of vigilantes, criminals, and other unsavory bunches, all toeing the thin boundary to straight-up villainy just like her: Adrian Flood/Overdrive, Daryl Winston/Rancor, Kendra Dunham/Apostate (a former Confederate who wised up and turned on the Confederacy), Eric Markham/Skyline, and Ron Miller/Scrapheap, all united only by their shared hatred of the Confederacy of Men. Though their clashing personalities kept them from ever becoming a true team, their combined efforts would deal significant blows to the fascist regime, with Mel lending her skills to them and, over time, coming to regard them as the closest thing she ever had to friends.
Years passed, and the fall of Dok’Kuumo under Confederate occupation faded into obscurity, as Blackswan, at the height of her game, found herself restless and bored despite a life that should have been every dark elf’s dream. Countless worlds explored, fortunes stolen, enemies crushed, yet all of it began to blur together. Even her killing of Confederates alongside her fellow Undersiders was growing stale. One night, while in her then-current lair, she unearthed an old, glitching datapad from her relationship with Hugh. Its corrupted files had revealed something unexpected: his secret research into interdimensional travel, a dangerous, little-known frontier beyond the reality she called home. Though part of her scoffed at his ambition, another part of Mel had reignited with the thrill of discovery, leading her to spend a year risking life and limb to construct a crude, unstable dimension-hopping device that could just as easily annihilate her as transport her elsewhere in all of Totality. After having left behind a message for Undersider’s other members and hiding her lair, she activated her Dimensional Gate, and was dragged screaming into a roaring vortex of impossible colors and infinite realities, vanishing from the Multiversal Network and reappearing in the Monztarverse for the first time, in a dark alley in New York City, the city her true love called home, where her arrival already caused chaos before she quickly adapted, stealing an ID from the hobo she landed on, along with money from the NYPD cops who had been sent to investigate the portal she came out of, and escaping across the skyline of New York, only to stumble upon a ritualistic crime involving gang members and cultists sacrificing street children, prompting her to intervene with lethal force despite her criminal nature. In that moment, a Millennium Justice complement composed of Van Helsing, Alucardia, Red Riding Hood, Libertina Glory, Salt & Pepper, and Beastking, who had come to also stop the black mass, mistook Blackswan for an agent of Cain’s, forcing her into a rooftop chase where she outwitted and incapacitated them before disappearing without a trace, leaving behind two demolished skyscrapers as collateral damage and to cover her tracks, and a shaken hero team. Blackswan’s presence would alert higher powers, including heavenly forces, who deemed her an anomaly that did not belong. Thus, God had assigned Abel to track her down and remove her from this new reality, setting the stage for a confrontation that would change both their lives, for the better.
Hidden deep within the forests of the Appalachian Mountains, Blackswan established a discreet base in a rundown cabin, restoring it into a functional hideout where she could operate undetected while planning her next moves in the Monztarverse, effortlessly evading even the most advanced surveillance and supernatural tracking that Millennium Justice and their assorted allies had at their disposal. She would then hack into Millennium Justice’s heavily-fortified info network to download critical data on their members, operations, and enemies, including Abel, whom she immediately dismissed with bitter resentment tied to her hatred of humanity and superheroes, before launching a calculated series of daring heists across various Prodigium and Millennium Justice facilities, outmaneuvering even elite crimefighters like Pussycat O’ War and repeatedly humiliating Abel with taunting calling cards, culminating in a brazen theft from his own family’s resources that finally pushed him toward decisive action. Meanwhile, Mel’s time in this world grew more complex as she found herself begrudgingly intrigued by Abel, his public persona and true angelic self, even admitting his attractiveness, while secretly aiding a hidden colony of wood elves who had escaped slavery under the Hellish Hordes, by supplying them with the same stolen goods she had taken from Adam & Eve, in exchange for help constructing a safer dimensional gate home. Even after so many years, Blackswan’s nights remained plagued by relentless nightmares of her past, of Dok’Kuumo’s fall, Hugh’s betrayal, and the horrors of the Confederacy, visions that would soon become twisted into something far worse, more infernal, as Cain began invading her dreams, confronting her with grotesque imagery and tempting her with promises of vengeance against humanity and the heroes she so despised, offering power and justice in exchange for her allegiance, leaving Blackswan shaken and conflicted as she awoke each night, evermore desperate to escape this reality.
The following day, Blackswan worked alongside the wood elves to complete her Dimensional Gate, sharing a rare moment of peace as she bonded with them, only for that calm to shatter when an illusion orchestrated by Cain deceived Abel into believing dark elves were massacring a fairy village, prompting him to unleash devastating holy power that instead destroyed the elves’ refuge and Mel’s nearly-finished escape back home, until the truth broke through and he realized in horror that he had attacked innocents. As his team restrained him and he collapsed in guilt, Blackswan, consumed by years of pain and rage, lashed out with a brutal condemnation of humanity and superheroes alike before vanishing, though doubt soon crept in as she questioned whether Abel truly deserved her hatred, a conflict that deepened when the spirit of Cain appeared in her cabin that night, deceiving her into a deal: her technology and knowledge in exchange for vengeance against humans and a way back home, which she reluctantly accepted, following him into Hell where she constructed a massive Teleportal under his watch, only to discover through overheard conversations between Cain’s eldest son and Countess Bathory, that Cain never intended to honor the bargain and instead planned to use her work to spread his dominion across realities and ultimately destroy her and her homeworld. Realizing she had been manipulated once again, Mel’s regret toward Abel turned into fury at Cain and herself, and she secretly sabotaged the Teleportal, turning it into a hidden time bomb while enduring the corrupting influence of Hell that began to warp her very being into some insectoid monstruosity, all while further haunted by her thoughts of Abel and whether he would come for her, unaware that help was indeed on the way through Meridiana, who was covertly aiding Mel and relayed her situation back to Abel, setting the stage for a rescue, while Blackswan prepared to outwit the Devil himself.
On the fated day of Cain’s attempted multiversal conquest, he ordered Blackswan to activate the Teleportal, unaware she had actually sabotaged it, just as Abel burst through the Gates of Hell in a blaze of divine light, effortlessly annihilating Cain’s monstrous guardians and troops and clashing with his brother in a titanic battle, freeing Blackswan from Cain’s grasp and shielding her as chaos erupted around them. Thanks to her tampering Cain’s Teleportal, the machine spiraled out of control and detonated in a series of catastrophic explosive chain reactions that devastated Hell itself. Blackswan revealed her deception with a taunting grin, leaving Cain exposed and vulnerable, allowing Abel to press the advantage while carrying her to safety, the two sharing a moment of unexpected closeness as she, for the first time in her life, felt truly safe in someone’s arms, in his arms. Together angel and dark elf returned to the battlefield, fighting side by side with seamless coordination and lots of flirty banter between them, as they decimated Cain’s remaining forces, culminating in a final duel where Abel ultimately overpowered and defeated his brother, sparing his life at the last moment, for he had done what he came for, rescue Blackswan. Just as Abel and Blackswan were about to enter the portal that would take them back to Earth, Countess Bathory attacked, clawed at Abel’s eyes, and hurled Blackswan through the portal, leading to a brutal clash on Earth where the injured dark elf managed to slay the vampiress before collapsing from her wounds, prompting Abel to heal her completely with his divine power before carrying her to Millennium Justice headquarters, declaring responsibility for her safety despite objections from his team. As Mel lay unconscious in the medbay, her body restored but her pain lingering, Abel kept vigil by her side, crafting a small plushy likeness of himself infused with his essence and placing it in her arms, where she instinctively clutched it and smiled even in her sleep, marking the quiet end of Cain’s nightmare and the subtle beginning of something new between them. An unlikely bond between the Monztarverse’s greatest hero and the Multiversal Network’s greatest master thief, which against all odds, had already begun to take root.
When Mel closed her eyes, there were only nightmares; visions of a burning manor, the screams of helpless dark elves, and the faces of those who had taken everything from her. When she finally lost consciousness after Bathory’s ambush, she expected more of the same plus the horrors of Hell or perhaps to wake and find it all a drunken hallucination. Instead, she awoke in a bright infirmary, groaning at the light, greeted by Beastking and the unexpected softness of Abel’s plushie on her lap, which confirmed that everything was real and, more surprisingly, that she had slept without a single nightmare for the first time in ages. As memories returned, Abel carrying her, his words echoing, she felt unsettled by how safe she had been, how different he was. As pain flared when she tried to stand, Abel entered the room and gently urged her back into bed, their exchange balancing concern and tension before softening into awkward silence charged with attraction and unspoken regrets. Mel then thanked Abel for rescuing her, and he, with earnest humility, apologized for his past actions and insisted she deserved freedom and a second chance. Their conversation shifted into teasing curiosity, about his niece’s help, her sabotage of Cain’s teleportal, and his efforts to make amends with the wood elves, before Abel’s sincerity disarmed Mel, prompting a flustered, intimate moment as she touched his face while he touched her hand. Mel would later fully open up about her past, the Multiversal Network, and all her crimes, expecting Abel to arrest her, obly to find compassion instead. Abel had earned Mel’s trust, but their moment was interrupted by his eavesdropping adoptive kids, whose warmth brought laughs to Mel, and as evening fell, Abel brought a healing potion that nearly undid her with its orange taste before returning with a feast that became shared joy and playful bonding, letting Mel experience a rare sense of belonging. Later that night, Abel carried Mel bridal-style towards a balcony on one of the platforms located on the outside of Heaven’s Legend, as MJ HQ was surrounded by a quiet forest where the cool night, bright stars, and natural stillness stirred memories of what Mel’s home once was, leading her to open up about her fallen family and hatred for humanity as emotions broke through, drawing a tear from her eyes, which Abel gently wiped away as she settled into his lap, comforted as he wrapped her in his wings. Now his turn to reveal his past to Mel, Abel spoke of humanity’s dual nature and his role in guiding it, revealing he had once been human himself. Intrigued, she listened as he shared his full story through conjured visions; from his birth to death by Cain’s hand, rebirth as an angel, and his eternal struggle with Cain and the forces of darkness, tempered by lighter moments, their bond deepening into playful flirting before turning to love and fear, as Abel admitted he had denied himself connection out of duty and fear of Cain maiming his potential sweetheart, only for Mel to challenge him to pursue happiness, her words resonating until he admitted he might one day open his heart, even hinting she could be that special sweetheart, their closeness culminating in a quiet embrace before he carried her back inside as exhaustion overtook her. Back at Mel’s hospital bed, Abel honored his promise to let her sleep on his wings, holding her close as she teased him into carnal pleasure, which he resisted, choosing something deeper instead and proposing they forge their own path together, which she accepted with a tired smile before falling asleep in his arms, and for the first time in millennia, Abel rested as well, both finding peace in each other.
Mel and Abel’s growing love would eventually blossom into a true relationship. After a sparring session that would have surely gone sexual had Adam not walked in on them, angel and dark elf shared their first kiss; Abel’s first kiss, and Mel’s first kiss born from true love, while having a picnic. Mel couldn’t hide it anymore. She loved Abel. After all the pain Hugh had left inside her heart, Abel came and helped her heal. Abel went above and beyond any of her past lovers, all to make her feel good. She loved him, even more than the highs her high-risk thief lifestyle provided her. That man, that angel, was far more precious and valuable than any gemstone or gold coin, how could she not make him hers. Blackswan would find herself torn by a painful reality: she wasn’t native to the Monztarverse and was supposed to return to the Multiversal Network, yet she no longer wanted to leave. Specifically, she didn’t want to leave Abel. Once desperate to escape this chaotic universe of gods, heroes, demons, and the war between Cain and Heaven, her time with Abel had completely changed her perspective, as his unwavering kindness, compassion, and heart of gold showed her a kind of love she had never known before, making her a believer in true love. She was deeply in love with him, seeing Abel as her knight in shining armor. The thought of losing Abel felt worse than life imprisonment and capital punishment. However, her love was overshadowed by a growing fear, that her presence in the Monztarverse might expose the reality Abel calls home to something far worse than anything it had ever faced, an entity of pure oblivion from the Multiversal Network, and as that fear overwhelmed her. Abel, picking up on this, comforted her, assuring her that none of it was her fault. He promised to stand by her no matter what, to protect her and face whatever came together, even suggesting that perhaps their worlds could find a way to coexist as well, giving her hope that they wouldn’t have to be separated after all, and reaffirming that whatever the future held, they would face it side by side.
After Abel gifted Blackswan a new, better dwelling to use as her lair, along with her restored catsuit as well as her gauntlets and other gadgets, which had been fixed following Mel’s battle against Bathory, the couple would go out on a series of dates; their first date involved Abel taking Mel on a nightly drive throughout New York City, which culminated in the two declaring their love for each other, and Mel taking Abel’s virginity at Central Park. Even despite his lack of experience, Mel melted at Abel’s passion, eagerness to learn what made her happy, and the fact that Abel wasn’t a nervous, insecure wreck like Hugh was during his first time. Their 2nd date consisted in Blackswan stealing jewelry from New York’s most prestigious jewelry store (while also stopping three other thieves that were robbing the same jewelry store), and Abel coming in to “apprehend her”, via intense rooftop lovemaking. The third date involved Abel taking Mel out on a nightly stroll at Coney Island, where roller coaster rides, and feasts of carnival food followed suit. After their visit to Coney Island, Abel later took Mel towards New York’s most top-end nightclub, where they danced the night away, followed by another intense night of passion. In time, Blackswan would earn Adam & Eve’s blessing, though honestly, she would have continued seeing Abel regardless if she had their approval or not. Abel then took Blackswan on a world tour aboard his alicorn steed. She would even experience Christmas for the first time ever with Abel. What did Abel give her? A new and improved catsuit, which was far more resistant to damage both mundane and supernatural than her old one, along with improved versions of all her gear, and an entire cave of jewelry from a dragon’s horde. Their bond became stronger and stronger, while from afar, Cain watched in seething rage as every attempt of his to tear them apart instead drew them closer.
Blackswan’s time in the Monztarverse wasn't just all fun and games. Moments after a heist, she intercepted and brutally subdued two amateur robbers before slipping away from the cops. She would later seize control of New York’s underworld by gathering intelligence on every major crime syndicate under Rex King’s power, summoning their leaders, and forcing them into submission through overwhelming dominance, terror, and calculated brutality, establishing herself as queenpin, effectively stealing Rex King’s position as New York’s reigning crime lord, while Rex himself, realizing too late the scale of her rise, marked her as a serious threat. Blackswan would later engage in battle with Alleycat, who had been sent out by Rex King to assassinate her, resulting in the dark elf winning against her attempted murderer with ease. While buying several casinos in Las Vegas to further her own criminal ambitions and provide future funding to Undersider’s upcoming anti-Confederate operations, Mel later took control of all of America’s organized crime scene, later taking over the Mexican drug trade as well after she and Abel brought about the destruction of Komandante Kobra’s empire; what began as a simple heist would turn into a rescue mission when Blackswan discovered a horrific trafficking operation, prompting her to call in Abel, whose arrival led to the liberation of the captives, and Kobra’s execution by her hand. Soon after, Abel and Blackswan infiltrated a hidden Illuminati depot in the Canadian wilderness, dismantling its defenses with precision as Abel disabled security and slaughtered guards in the shadows while Mel looted all the tech she required in order to build a new, superior Dimensional Gate, and then some, culminating in a direct confrontation with Rex King, clad in his warsuit, where they overcame his men, several Illuminati attack helicopters, his mutant attack dogs, as well as a massive terminator that resembled Cain, which resulted in the destruction of his facility. Rex was left beaten and humiliated, though not killed. Right after this, Blackswan and Abel faced an ambush by Cain’s monstrous powered-up minions, whom they annihilated together in a devastating display of power and coordination, with Blackswan using Alucardia’s stolen Longinus Spear to fight alongside her man. After all was said and done, the dark elf and her angel escaped into the night in Rex’s own car, going out on a joyride where Abel gave Mel another special night.
Now, with their new dimensional-hopping devices finally completed, it was time for Blackswan to leave, though she would return again and again alongside Abel, for the Monztarverse was now her 2nd home. For now though, their farewell to the Monztarverse marked the beginning of a new crusade: Abel’s mission to free Mel’s homeworld from the Confederacy of Men, and unite with the Multiversal Network’s heroes against a looming force of oblivion. After saying goodbye to his family and loved ones, the couple opened a dimensional gateway and stepped into the vast multiverse together, arriving at Mel’s long-abandoned lair where she welcomed him home and they shared a quiet, intimate reunion before reconnecting with her Undersider allies, who cautiously accepted Abel as a valuable ally against the Confederacy of Men. Barely a day in the Multiversal Network, and Abel resolved to begin his crusade with Dok’Kuumo’s freedom, refusing to ignore the dark elves’ suffering any longer. Together with Blackswan, they launched a devastating assault through Confederate space aboard her spacecraft, annihilating fleets with Abel’s power infusing the Mach-Wing’s weapons systems, before descending upon the planet itself, where Abel obliterated Confederate slavers and liberated the oppressed dark elves, while Blackswan unleashed her own ruthless fury. Side by side, like many times before, they carved through endless waves of Confederates, confronting both Mel’s past, symbolized in the brutal execution of her former lover Hugh, who had transformed himself into a cyborg, and the Confederacy’s might, culminating in their defeat of a powerful metahuman enforcer known as Killgun Champion, whom Abel judged and executed after rejecting his pleas for mercy. Now with the Confederacy’s occupation force crushed, Abel declared Dok’Kuumo free after so long, shattering the Confederacy’s golden eagle symbol and using his angelic power to heal Blackswan’s homeworld, restoring its ecosystems, cities, and hope in a better tomorrow, which moved Mel to tears, as her people hailed Abel as their savior, “Hope-Brought” in their language, and celebrated their freedom. Despite their victory, Mel urged Abel to keep her involvement secret from the Multiversal Network’s hero community, to protect his reputation, and he reluctantly agreed, promising to honor her in his own way, before joining her in Dok’Kuumo’s planet-wide celebrations, where Abel fully experienced his lover’s culture, danced, and found a quiet moment beneath the night sky. Surrounded by fireflies and fireworks, Abel and Blackswan reflected on all that had happened, their love deepening further, when a mysterious encounter with three rabbit-like creatures, revealed through an unspoken bond to be the spirits of Mel’s parents and uncle, offered a final blessing from the Afterlife, leaving the couple to honor them with a small memorial before embracing their future together, united in purpose, love, and the promise of many more battles, and tender moments, to come.
“You’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me… honey… I mean it,” Blackswan whispered to Abel, only for Abel to gently insist that she was the best thing that had ever happened to him, prompting her to confess that despite stealing so many valuables that she’s lost count, none of that compared to the most valuable thing she had ever “burgled,” him, while Abel reflected that everything in their lives, from his divine calling to her arrival in the Monztarverse, felt like pieces of a greater puzzle that had led them to each other. Though uncertain of fate’s design, Mel admitted she was simply grateful it brought them together before sleep overtook her, and Abel, after tenderly wishing her goodnight and wrapping her in his wings, found himself unable to rest as thoughts of looming threats, Cain’s inevitable return and the distant, terrifying presence of the cosmic entity behind the Dark Tricentennial, gnawed at his mind, raising fears of what might happen if those dark forces joined together just like he and Mel have. Yet when her sleepy voice stirred him back to the present, Abel was reminded of his promise and purpose, realizing that his love for Blackswan, and the countless beings depending on him, gave him the strength to push forward, and so, after assuring her that he was fine, Abel held Mel close, kissed her softly, and finally allowed himself to rest beside her, closing this chapter of Blackswan’s journey for now: a ruthless thief shaped by suffering who found unexpected love in an angel, a bond that would only deepen as time passed toward dreams of marriage, family, and an eternity together, even as fate quietly wove darker threads in the background, hinting at a future where Cain would meet the very cosmic horror Mel feared, threatening not just their worlds, but all of existence, leaving only their shared vow, “forever and always,” as both a promise and a defiance against whatever was yet to come.
After so long, she is here!!! :3
