Current layout for my next movie I'd say is about 90%. That's not including rendertime which is a more literal number once I get a hand on the setup. On top of that, new in my current project is going to be cloth simulation. Which on it's own is kind of sketchy. Let's hope it doesn't hit any technical hiccups that require me to rethink my gameplan.

Otherwise, storyboard and layout is almost there. about 14 more seconds of action to cap it off and it'll be time to start composting frames. After that is particles and then tweaking sound. I'd say give it another month or so and we'll be good to go.

In other news I'm off to LA next week for some inter studio training. My company is gracious enough to fly me out to LA to get me up to speed on the workings of Unreal Engine 3. Let's hope I'm not too old to soak it up. I'll most likely try to make time to visit some people. Hopefully I'll be able to pay the gametrailers folks a visit.

Have fun in L.A.
I like it there, but I don't think I want to go there unless I have something specific to do.
(which you do)
So it seems your job is going nicely eh?
Unreal Engine 3? That's pretty dope you're getting see it all from the inside? I'm totally making an assumption.
I'll be up there this weekend for a music video some students are doing for RedCloud. I doubt we'll bump into each other. And if we did, I would probably just ask you questions about what it's like to drink bubble tea. I've never had it before and am on a mission to find a place around San Diego that makes the goods. Take care MontyOum.

What I'd give to meet the guys at GT. You're really a lucky (and extremely talented) guy, don't waste that.

ugh, last time I tried getting cloth physics to react to my animation I had an exploding dress on my hands... scary stuff :fear:

no doubt your skillz are above mine though, I'm totally looking foreward to the movie.

also I'm exceptionally envious that you get paid to play with stuff like the unreal engine. :shakefist:

anyhoo, good luck with it all :D
