One weekend gone and I'm not settled on a song for Dead Fantasy 2!!!

Hey there, you!
Guess what, I'm looking for a good song, something that'll go good with a action scene, somethign hard hitting along the lines of devil may cry, (heavy guitars, somethign really badass.)

The reason is I am deviating from my plan to bring you Dead Fantasy 2, because the original dead Fantasy 2 which is now being ported to be Dead Fantasy 3 skipped right past some really good stuff. Soo I'm listening to the fans, adding more work. But it's because I know it's the right thing to do.

Sooo that means I'm stuck for a song, and maybe you can find it for me!

Gahh must go to bed!

With all the awesome tracks coming my way I think I just gave myself aonther 50 movies to make.

What have I done!!!!

Seriously thanks everyone, keep em coming.

What about "I stand alone" by disturbed. thought it's aparent they don't stand alone. maybe it can be a paradoxal theme. lol

You could try alot of Leftfield's work. He did a whole crapload of slammin and groovin techno. You might have heard Phat Planet, the intro to the Transformers show Beast Machines.

He's worth a look.

Ghost Love Score by Nightwish is ridiculously epic. [link]

Rhapsody (renamed Rhapsody of Fire circa 2006) is by far my favorite power metal band. Notable songs of theirs include:

Holy Thunderforce [link]
Dawn Of Victory [link]
Agony Is My Name [link]
Rain Of A Thousand Flames [link]
Emerald Sword [link]
Silent Dream [link]
Steelgods Of The Last Apocalypse [link]

One of the founders of Rhapsody, Luca Turilli, has released a couple of songs I absolutely recommend.

Demonheart [link]
Prophet of the Last Eclipse
(Part 1) [link]
(Part 2) [link]

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children's soundtrack is particularly good, especially the following tracks.

Tatakau Monotachi (Piano Version) [link]
Divinity II [link]
Advent: One-Winged Angel [link]

While we're talking about Final Fantasy...

Liberi Fatali from FFVIII [link]
Otherworld from FFX [link]
Seymour Battle from FFX [link]

Naruto, a popular anime series you may have heard of, has a uniformly excellent soundtrack.

Haruka Kanata by Asian Kung-Fu Generation [link]
Go! (Fighting Dreamers) by Flow [link]
Naruto Main Theme [link]
The Raising Fighting Spirit [link]

X-Ray Dog does some amazing trailer and film music, the best of which includes some truly epic choral pieces. Unfortunately, their work is a little hard to get one's hands on since they haven't released any of their albums commercially.

Here Comes the King (Drums & FX) [link]
Dark Empire 2.0 (Remix) [link]

Immediate Music is pretty much the same story X-Ray Dog, but they have better instrumentals on the whole. Unfortunately, I don't have any links for you, but here's a list of their very best tracks. I can't recommend these enough.

The Black Legend (Choir)
Electric Romeo (Choir)
Onward To Glory (Choir)
Serenata (Choir)
Lucius Dei (Choir)

Here are some miscellaneous selections that might have a suitable pace for your needs.

Exporation Space/Exploration Of Space by Cosmic Gate

The Wave by Cosmic Gate [link]

Toby - Raindrops [Amazing song, but I can't find it anywhere anymore. I have the mp3 though.]

Hardcore Vibes by Rave Allstars [link]

Jigga Jigga by Scooter [I favor the A1 Club Remix, which lacks the male vocals, but apparently it's somewhat obscure. Here's the inferior original version: [link] ]

There's a hell of a lot more where that came from, but I require sleep. If I post additional recommendations later they'll likely include more instrumentals and film soundtracks. However, if you're after any specific genres, speak up and I'll see what I can do. Also, feel free to message me if you can't find some of the songs I've listed and I'll be happy to help you out.

Try the Jean Claud Vandam Theme:

"One Of a Kind"

The perfect fight would be to brooke Valentine's - Girl Fight. but maybe you would want to get a techno version of the song. Or the Mortal Kombat Techno remix(it just doesn't get old). I think Kung Fu Fighter would be good for a "friendly competition" setting

I think some of Tyler Bates music is good. If u can find tech remix its pretty intense. SOrt of instrumental/goth/opera rock. Very intense. He's the one who made the soundtrack for 300 The movie. Just a thought

have you tried music from sonic the hedgehog

live and learn

all I am

his world

those are all great songs!!
wannabekaiju Featured By Owner Oct 15, 2007
I think DragonForce would lend itself pretty well to being a fight song. They already did such in one of their music videos [link]

Which one you use is relatively irrelevant, as they all sound almost the same, but I suggest "Through the Fire and Flames."

How about:
'Otherworld' from FFX
'Moonlit Wilderness' from Tekken 5 (its not really badass....but its epic music)

I'm a fan of Aphex Twin, so I recommend:
"We Have Arrived" and "Taking Control"
but there's also a twelve minute instrumental piece by Darkest Hour called "Veritas, Aequitas" that I highly recommend because it builds slowly yet steadily into an awesome two-part guitar solo

Somebody already mentioned Breaking Benjamin, but here are a couple of specific songs:

Polyamorous: [link]

Home: [link]

Shallow Bay: [link]

I'd also say So Cold, but I'm planning on using that one and if I were to tell you about it, I'd have to find a way to pull off a better film. Which would be harder than it sounds.

Wait a minute, did I just? I did. Crud.

You've gotten a shitload of songs already; but I haven't seen Hikari(rock guitar version), so I'll suggest that one. I've no idea where to download it from, but I can send it to you if you like it. Here's a link to what it sounds like: [link]

They're all great music. without a doubt, fun to listen to. But I think the man needs something more Instrumental.
SirceUnlimited Featured By Owner Oct 16, 2007   Writer
that was all I had on my playlist that i thought was worthy. His previous works have contained such artists as Rob Dougan, Juno Reactor, and Don Davis all good artists I might add. I happened to have been a fan prior to seeing these movies so no, i didn't learn from MR. Oum, lol.

however, those three artists in general have produced amazing fight scenes for movies like the Matrix, which is why i think our friend chose them for in the first place; because they were designed specifically for that.

I just thought I'd try something new. who knows? maybe he would pick one. That'd be fricking cool!

also, you have been randomly selected to have a gallery viewing, CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Firia Featured By Owner Oct 17, 2007
Yeah, the vocals in those songs though would just spoil the action, methinks, which is why I assume Monty has chosen Instrumentals in the past.
SirceUnlimited Featured By Owner Oct 17, 2007   Writer
what songs you choose?
Firia Featured By Owner Oct 17, 2007
I'd like to say, but I think it'd be best if I just let Monty roll out the tunes, and let it all be a mystery for now. ;) He said he'd credit me, so I guess, watch for it. :D

Have you considered Speed Metal? It's very fast paced, and doesn't let up on the action. Try Dragon Force's tracks.
PFCMaddMann Featured By Owner Oct 15, 2007  Professional Photographer
I highly recommend Rob Dougan, his instrumental song of Furious Angels rules. Just be careful what song of his you select, one of them was used in The Matrix.
Argent-Twilight Featured By Owner Oct 15, 2007

Videogame music remixes ftw. Might I suggest FF7's "Galvanized Boss Theme"?

(You can get a streamed preview under the "Download" tab, before you actually download it.)
UnknownSquid Featured By Owner Oct 15, 2007
I'll nominate Guilty Gear too.

For an individual track, I might suggest Awe of She. [link]

I think its all you asked for, with plenty of badass. With nice breaks and variations in it which could work nicely with the choreographing. =)

I actually have another version, with an extra spoon of epic added, which I'll see if I can find an example for you.

Tetsujin - Juno Reactor off the Matrix Revolutions soundtrack, it's where they fight it out with the vampires/extremely goth badguys.
lightsideluc Featured By Owner Oct 15, 2007
Really, any Final Fanatsy boss theme is pretty hardcore, FFVII coming to mind especially. Plus, it fits better then the matrix stuff ^^;.
Try One Winged Angel or Jenova's theme, the Advent Children versions are much harder then the originals, if you want it like that.
CaptRosko Featured By Owner Oct 15, 2007
I suppose you want something with just instrumentals, and not something with lyrics (at least understandable ones). ?
Berserk-Dragon Featured By Owner Oct 15, 2007  Hobbyist Artist
I wander if you could get one from newgrounds, asking permission from them. :)

undergrounduno Featured By Owner Oct 15, 2007
Apollo Four Forty - Cold Rock The Mic
Incubus - First-Fourth movement of the Odyssey (Halo 2 sndk)
Soul 33 (sadly, I don't remember the artist's name)
Prodigy - First Warning

And as suggested above, Guilty Gear X has some decent enough guitar and rock badass music that's instrumental, and the Final Fantasy : Advent Children soundtrack is superior quality ownage in the same regard. Hopefully you find what you need!
Maverick22 Featured By Owner Oct 15, 2007
I agree with the dude who nominated Guilty Gear songs.

Some Suggestions:
Guil Gear X - "Still in the Dark" [link]

Guilty Gear X2 - "No Mercy" [link]

Lunatic Calm - "Leave you far Behing" [link] / Instumental V. [link]

Boom Boom Satellites - "Pill" [link]

Prodigy - "Voodoo People (Pendulum Remix)" [link]

Junkie LX - "Junkie XL Colossus Remix" [link]

Check out the God of War 2 OST. Has a bunch of great Epic-feel songs.

Junkie XL is a good candidate right now. It's got a lot of good points, buuut. It's a little too serious/dramatic. I like it though, if I don't use it here, then somewhere else definitley.
