Here is the redesign of Spinodra, it’s been on my list of metafauna that desperately needed a redesign. I asked Mcslackerton to give it the body of a leviathan from monster hunter, he also gave it a bit more of a crocodile like features like its tail. Big thanks to my crew on my discord who helped work on my creatures and I hope you all enjoy the information provided below.

Common Name: Spinodra

Genus: Voltidentata (Electric Tooth)

Size: 25 Foot Height(7 Meters), 70 Foot Length(21 Meters), 38 Ton Weight

Habitat: Mangrove Swamps, Marshes, Open Water Swamps, Tropical Rivers, Tropical Swamps, And Wetlands.

Diet: Piscivore(Fish Eater)

Aggression Type: Territorial

Element: Lightning

Elemental Weakness: Earth

Powers And Abilities: Amphibious Movement, Calorie Conversion, Electricity Generation, Electricity Manipulation, Hooked Claws, Deep dive capability, Powerful Tail, Sharp Teeth.

Description: Spinodra are large, semi-aquatic reptiles which are recognizable due to their huge sail on their back and long crocodile-like snout. They possess a long paddle-like tail covered in scutes similar to that of a crocodile. Spinodra live in tropical and wetland environments such as swamps, marshes, and rivers. Male Spinodra are larger than females but it isn’t uncommon for either gender to reach 70 feet in length as they age. These Metafauna primarily eat large fish species and throughout the year they will dig out large pockets in the mud, so that during the dry season when the waters recede fish and water will be guided into them. During this dry season, Spinodra will travel to each pocket and will feed on the fish within them. If the dry season in the area continues for too long they will migrate to a new location, and when they find a new home they will become fiercely territorial.

During the wet season when the water is high, Spinodra will begin their mating ritual with the males announcing their presence with low bellowing sounds to attract females. The males will also slap the water with their jaws and hold their tails high above it the whole time, causing vibrations throughout the swamp. These vibrations can be so strong they can even be felt in the air somewhat, giving the males a slightly territorial marker as well to other males. Once a female is attracted she will approach the male who will rub the female's head with his chin, covering it with his musky scent which entices her to mate with him. He will often dip his head underneath hers and rub her throat, exhaling and blowing bubbles around her jaws.

After the pair has mated the female will dig a hole and fill it with vegetation and will then lay 12 eggs within the hole. Once laid the female will bury them with the topsoil or sand and will watch over the nest for two months until the eggs hatch. When the hatchlings emerge from the eggs they call out for their mother, who will dig them out with her claws and will gently lean their snout into the hole allowing her young to crawl into her mouth, and she will gently pick them up and carry them to the water. She will make return trips to make sure all her offspring make it to the water, and those already in the water will hide within the water grasses while their mother is away. The young will stay with their mother for two years until they are large enough to fend for themselves, or the mother chases them off.

Despite being fish eaters Spinodra are extremely territorial and are known for attacking boats and fishermen. One port town located in the northern region of Solania was terrorized by a particularly large Spinodra for three decades. According to their reports, the Spinodra killed around 500 people and has never been caught or killed. Some Monterrians named it Tjapfiwom, meaning Thunder Devil. Most scientists believe this individual to be an alpha, which could explain its aggressive behavior, while others believe it was simply an old Spinodra who perceived the fishermen as competition and a threat to its territory. Considering all this, Spinodra are very dangerous metafauna, being equipped with the ability to hunt, fight and survive in this harsh world.

Powers and abilities:

Sharp Teeth: Spinodra possess slightly curved conical teeth which line both sides of their jaws and are visible even when their mouth is closed. These teeth are designed for catching slippery prey, but can also be used on large prey.

Strong Jaws: While both male and female Spinodra possess strong jaws for clamping down on their prey and typically instantly killing most fish, pregnant females are known to use these jaws to down terrestrial prey by biting the back of the head or neck and dragging them underwater.

Sensitive Pits: Spinodra possess sensitive pressure receptors located within pits around the mouth which allow them to detect motion underwater. These pits assist in the capture of prey in dark and murky water.

Hooked Claws: Spinodra have sharp curved claws on their front feet which allow them to hook onto rocks and other hard surfaces on land or underwater. In combat Spinodra will use them to slash opponents or to hook into the skin allowing them to push their opponent over.

Powerful Tail: Spinodra possess a thick scaled, muscular, paddle-like tail which propel them through the water with incredible bursts of speed and even allow them to leap out of the water somewhat. They can also be used as a weapon against rivals or other threats. The Spinodra is able to generate enough force to knock down small and medium sized trees, send smaller opponents flying through the air and even break through man made structures such as the walls of a house or small ship. Thanks to their thick scales this usually leaves minimal to no damage at all.

Amphibious Movement: Spinodra can move on both land and in water like that of an alligator, similarly they are better equipped for aquatic movement thanks to their semi-streamlined body and powerful tail. They are capable of swimming up to 40 miles per hour and can dive underwater for 40-50 minutes regularly and up to 4 hours at maximum thanks to their powerful lungs and dense bones.

Calorie Conversion To Electricity Generation: Spinodra are able to convert the calories and nutrients from what they eat into electricity which is amplified via passive Electrical Element Z Energy within the crystalized spikes tipping their sail.

Electricity manipulation: Spinodra can utilize the amplified electricity they create to kill prey by sending it out in high amounts of volts and amperage when their sail is submerged underwater. This typically can override the resistance of nearby fish’s skin and instantly kill them, if not kill them over time due to exposure. The Spinodra themselves are able to endure any backlash electricity due to their thick scales which cover their body but even they can be shocked by a rival's electricity if exposed to it for long enough.

General weakness:

Age Vulnerability: Spinodra are vulnerable within their eggs and after they hatch they remain so, having to rely on their mother for protection until they are large enough to fend for themselves. During their infancy they are vulnerable to many predators and even adult Spinodra.

Diseases and Illnesses: Spinodra are somewhat more resistant to diseases and illnesses than some other Metafauna however they are still susceptible to them, especially when in polluted waters.

Injuries: Spinodra with severe injuries will most likely die from infection, blood loss, predation or starvation, however these injuries are typically beyond what some normal Metafauna are capable of taking, and there are some which recover and live to see another day.

Electrical Overusage: If a Spinodra overuses their electrical discharge it will begin to cause injury to themselves as it will override their natural resistances to electricity.

Starvation: If a Spinodra doesn’t get enough food they will become unable to produce electricity. Starvation also causes them to become more and more aggressive resulting in an increase to a possibility of harm to themselves from those they attack defending themselves.

Extreme Water Temperature Changes: Sharp changes in water temperature such as it freezing over or boiling can harm or impede a Spinodra, resulting in them becoming injured or less active. Both of which will lead to them becoming less active and decreasing their mobility, leaving them vulnerable.

Elemental Weakness: Earth Element Spinodra are weak to the Earth Element and Earth Element weaponry.
