Description:The Avaeros are an avian species best known for their sexually dimorphic plumage & coloration, as well as their large eyes, scaly syndactyl feet, and their three fingered scaly hands. They possess a fourth digit on their hands which allow them to retract their wings and hold them close to their arms, making the wings blend in with their limbs. The bones within the digit are specially made to lock into place and by flourishing their arms forward and quickly drawing their arms back they can unretract their wings, their wings aren’t as toughly built as other fliers and are better for gliding, however they can supplement their overall structure with their innate Sylphar Naturia usage. Due to their various layers of plumage they possess a high tolerance towards cold and heat, as well as rough weather, and their plumage is sexually dimorphic with females possessing black and grey plumage, while males only possess black plumage along the ridge of the nose and head, while the rest of their body is mostly blue, with white plumage on the chest and white tips on their wing and tail feathers, as well as flamboyant red plumage around their eyes.

In both sexes their eyes, beak, hands, and feet are yellow in coloration, with the cere at the base of their mouth being red. Their beak is hooked and suited for tearing meat alongside the claws on their fingers and toes. They are extremely muscular and possess little fat on their body, with their rectangular head, large chest, long arms, and short legs possessing thick musculature. This musculature is especially high in their syndactyl feet, allowing them to crush thick stones and bones, and due to their Sylphar Naturia usage they can carry things over long periods of time in multiple environments, giving them a natural predisposition towards air based transportation of goods.

Like all Sophonts on Monterra every one hundred years a Blessed Avaeros is born, possessing stronger Sylphar Naturia usage and a different coloration than base Avaeros. Blessed Avaeros are pure white in coloration with eyes as blue as the sky.

Air Pressure Detection:The Avaeros possess a natural affinity to changes in air pressure, giving them the ability to detect the world around them based on changes in the air and movement of the wind.

Flight Boost:The Avaeros are able to create gusts of wind behind themselves during flight and can produce jet streams allowing them to reach 240 miles per hour. 

Projectile Affinity: Due to their strong eye sight they are predisposed to ranged weapons such as archery, and throwing weapons.

As a result most Avaeros do not live in clusters like traditional cities on the ground, preferring to live in more spread out civilized areas.

Upward Gust:The Avaeros are able to create gusts of wind underneath themselves at any elevation or terrain, allowing them to push themselves off the ground and into the air, allowing them to achieve a pseudo form of flight while in truth gliding around.

Wind Blast:The Avaeros can produce a blast of wind from anywhere on their body, allowing them to blast away any projectiles, falling objects or adversaries. This ability is most useful in evading group attacks as well as nullifying any projectiles such as arrows, though bullet-like projectiles can push through unless the individual gives it everything they have or is aided by others.

Injury: Due to their hollow bones they are particularly susceptible to injury from collisions or physical force being exerted upon them.
