Visser: Luminar by Monster-Man-08 Visser: Luminar by Monster-Man-08
All the way from the moon of Slegabb Five is... the 10,000 Volt Ghost!?

Visser Three morphs this rather jolly looking, chubby, fire-monster in the 36th Animorph book, rather unintelligently in a (top secret, alien) submarine underwater while with those 'Andalite bandits," who eventually sink the sub. Not the brightest crayon in the box, the Visser...

BOOK: Animorphs #36 - The Mutation

Animorphs and all related characters belong to K.A. Applegate

Holy crap, this is exactly how I imagined this morph to look when I read the book years ago.

I thought the point was that he knew the water would make this useful against the Nartec, even if it also opened himself to a potential problem. I dunno.

here's a question. you can acquire any animal you touch, right? as long as it has the DNA? and when you morph your dna becomes an exact copy of the animal's dna, aside from any physical disabilities?

SO WHY THE FUCK DIDNT AX OR TOBIAS, NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES THEY HIT HIM, TAKE DNA FROM ONE OF VISSER THREE'S MORPHS!?

Monster-Man-08 is right. You need to acquire a real, non-morph animal.

but why? does it have genetic defects? would you just aquire the original morpher?

It doesn't have genetic defects unless the original had a defect, because it's a perfect copy. The reason is never given, but it is stated in the books that you need the original.

I think you had to "acquire" the actual, original animal, and not someone in morph or a severed limb or whatever. At least, I'd assume so, that's a pretty obvious battle tactic to be ignoring.

How do you acquire something that burns anything it touches?

The Visser has managed to acquire all sorts of morphs that should have burn, dissolved, or otherwise destroyed his (host's) hands. I'm not entirely sure how, though. Maybe he doesn't mind losing his (host's) limbs, given morphing will repair those injuries.

I know, but I asked this same question when I read the book (36, right?)...How the HELL did he acquire that one? I mean...you need a minute of contact to properly acquire DNA...but if his arm was being burned off...

To this day, it still bugs me...

Maybe he dunked the creature in water before acquiring it.
