Visser: Kafit Bird by Monster-Man-08 Visser: Kafit Bird by Monster-Man-08
The tenth morph of Visser Three. Native to the Andalite Homeworld, the six-winged Kafit bird is considered the best 'bird' (though there are only two other species). It's just barely able to fly thru the M of a McDonald's sign.

The Kafit is a typical morph for Andalites (who generally don't acquire many morphs, unlike the Animorphs or Visser Three), yet upon seeing the Visser morph one, Ax fears that the Yeerk Empire may have infiltrated the Andalite Homeworld. (Ax's fears do come true, as we meet traitor Andalites!)

The Visser morphs something else from the Andalite Homeworld system [link] , in the book we first meet Ax, no less!

He wouldn't really need to infiltrate, though... his host is Andalite, so he could use anything Alloran acquired.

I find it a bit funny how Ax never ponders the possibility that Alloran (Visser's host) acquired these morphs... Visser 3 may not have been to the Andalite home world at all, he should still be able to morph anything Alloran has morphed before being infested.

Silly Ax doesn't realize that he could've had the morph before he was even Yeerk'd.

I would just like to point out that Elfangor mentions that the Kafit is acquired by a few cadets for pressure, which is frowned upon. The only thing they do acquire in training is the djabala. This is why Ax's first time flying is with the Northern Harrier. Unlike his big brother, Ax follows the rules.

I seem to remember that in either animorphs or the andalite chronicles, ax or elfangor reminisces the kafit bird being the standard morph that andalite students/cadets/arsiths used to practice morphs

Maybe Alloran acquired a different subspecies of Kafit Bird than Elfangor did. Elfangor got his morph in the 60s or 70s. Alloran, if he acquired it before Esplin made him, would have done it around the same time (before or after) Elfangor did. If, like one Animorphs suggests to Ax, Esplin acquired a Kafit Bird that escaped to a zoo or whatever, maybe it was a variation of the species with different DNA for a different number of wings.

Sorry for not being concise.

Hmm...12 sets in Animorphs consecutive, 6 sets in the Andalite Chronicles, and 3 sets in Animorphs 18?

I thought it has "six pairs of wings", not "six wings"?

The Kafit Bird makes two appearances in the series. Visser Three morphs into one and Ax describes it having six wings; Elfangor also morphs into it, but tells us it has six pairs of wings.

This being the Visser's version, I went with six wings total. I made a twelve-winged version on a newer entry: [link]

Don't you mean 3 species?

And I never thought of it like that. . . . . . .and I wonderr how a bird with 6 wings can fly.
