Mardrut by Monster-Man-08 Mardrut by Monster-Man-08
The Mardrut is a whale-sized aquatic organism from one of the moons of the Andalite homeworld. Given Visser Three's comments, the Mardrut is apparently carnivorous (or at least omnivorous).
It propels itself through the water with hundreds of tiny "fish tails" and three large "water sacs", the latter of which makes a distinctive WHUMP, WHUMP, WHUMP sound. Despite all the appendages, the Mardrut is incredibly slow moving and has difficulty making turns, but never tires.

awesome new take on Mardrut, i like their jet water sacs for propulsion, the micro-fish fins, the vertical mouths and the six yellow eyes near the mouths, it's really alien.

KAA designed some weird aliens over the years...

The "covered in fish tails" part always stumped me. You illustrated it really well.

You design creatures that just don't look like anything I've seen before, real or fictitious. This is one example of that. I now realize I've been to your gallery before. I just forgot until I was brought back by the sight of your Mortasheen mutants in the latest Bogleech gallery.

Pretty cool. It always was/is (been reading since I was 11!) hard for me to imagine the aliens V3 morphed, so the illustrations people do help.

This looks awesome. :D It almost looks like a ship of sorts except with mouths. :XD:

Agh I remember the description of that "WHUMP WHUMP WHUMP" sound disturbing me as a child, because when I was even -younger-, I used to have nightmares of walls constantly trying to close around me and crush me, always accompanied by a rhythmic "WHUMP WHUMP WHUMP" noise, which would only get louder when other people trying to escape the horror would find a place to hide only to be crushed into a graphically gory paste by seemingly normal walls suddenly springing to life and snapping shut like a vise. It wasn't even the movement of the walls that created the noise, it was just some kind of background ambient sound that accompanied the recurring threat.

I don't think I'd ever paid attention to this creature's description in the book, though, but I do remember the fish-tail skin. It looks kind of cute here.
