Animorphs: Mean Green Mother by Monster-Man-08 Animorphs: Mean Green Mother by Monster-Man-08
In an ironic twist of fate, Visser Three finds himself running from a giant monster that wants to eat him!

The plant monster is Rachel, who, thanks to the powers of the Crayak, was able to become anything she imagined. This 'morph' was created specifically to counter the Killer Jell-o; primarily the lack of lungs stopping it from suffocating, and the weird butterfly-proboscis in order to eat the Visser. This plant morph also lacks pain sensors and is even able to regrow parts, such as it's 'head.' It can also fly!

"I'm just a mean, green mother from outer space, and I'm bad. I'm just a mean, green mother from outer space and it looks like you been had.
I'm just a mean, green mother from outer space,
So get off my back 'n get out my face,
'Cause I'm mean and green and I am bad."

God, I love that movie...

Have you seen or heard the show, though? The ending is all different. :D

I love the movie too.

Every time it would come to Shea's, I'd go see it with my husband.

To this day, the movie stands out as one of my faves. I have the soundtrack and can practically recite it from memory. Seeing it live, only made me appreciate it more.

The ending that they have in the play is the original ending. When the movie was released, this negative ending left a bad taste in the mouths of those who sat through it, hence, the director scrapped that ending, and created a newer, happier one.

Supposedly, there are some DVDs floating around with the orginal ending. However, these are incredibly hard to come by, not to mention, incredibly expensive.

Since this comment was posted loooong time ago, I'd think it worth a mention a director's cut DVD came out last year around Halloween with the original ending in black and white, if you haven't heard *u*

Yuppers! They also released it even more recently on blu-ray, which is the copy that I earn.

In all honesty, I like the original theatrical ending, rather than the one depicting the destruction of the Earth by the Audrey II clones.

I personally like the original ending myself, pfft. I'm a sucker for when the bad guy wins, because you NEVER see it often enough. Besides, the song rocked.
At our local theater [A.C.T., haha very funny, managing committee] during that part they actually had the people coming down the aisle. Scared the crap out of my mother for sure.
And earlier on, come to think, they had that flash guy come down the aisle in Skid Row, I think, and flash aisle people. He "flashed" my mother. You could see while he danced there were boxers tho XD
moral of the story
Little shop is amazing and everyone should see it

Don't get me wrong, I am in complete agreement with you regarding the whole bad-guy-winning-the-day thing. I guess you could say that my biggest problem with the original end of the movie is that it did not translate well from stage to screen. The ending in the movie, though true to the play was...awkward, for lack of a better word. Both me and my husband, as we were watching it, turned to each other and asked "When is this going to end?" at the same time. It was too drawn out, too over the top. I wish they would have ended it with the gardeners taking clippings of Audrey II and letting the audience piece the rest together on their own.

I've never heard of the movie being done in a sort of "Rocky Horror Picture Show" sort of way. Must have been...interesting, 'pecially the gent in the boxers. :D I'd have liked to see that.

The Wheel of Morality should have a space reserved for this movie. X3

Well, her thought process was "Oh no, can't breathe! If only I could morph something that doesn't breathe, like, like, a plant!" and she became the plant monster. She didn't plan any part of it, rather she was granted anything she needed (like needing a way to harm the Killer Jell-O got her the proboscis, and Visser Three lopping off her 'head' got her regenerative abilities).
