Monochromatique

Hello my lovelies~

After a lot of thinking, I have decided to close this group.
It has been an amazing experience to share all of your work and see many of you improve with each new submission. Unfortunately I no longer have the time to manage the group, and I no longer want to leave you guys hanging for weeks..waiting for your submissions to be moderated.
Another thing is that I no longer feel like I have the right to give critique or advice, as I have a lot to learn myself. I've never considered myself entitled to say what's wrong or right in a picture, and I saw this group more as a subjective gallery of work that I admire and find worthy of promoting. But even so, I  feel like that can spark negativity and controversy as to "who am I to say this and that" when people don't understand the "it's my personal opinion-not a general one" part.

I believe that, as with many things in life-with photography too-the more you learn, the more you realize how little you know. And as much as I love the sharing part of the whole group idea, I don't really like the fact that someone has to be the "judge" of weather your work is good enough or not...and even though I always made sure to mention that the way I moderate submissions is based on what I find to be good for  this group in particular...that part always gets lost on the way and people's feelings might get hurt or they can feel discouraged.
With that being said,I will be closing the group in one of the following days.

I want to thank each and every one of you that joined the group! weather it was to watch others' work or to share your own, I want to thank you! I never would have thought that it could get this big and I am grateful for everyone's support! I've found amazing artists through this group and I've been honored to share so many beautiful photographs.
I wish you all the best of luck in all your photographic endeavors,I hope you've enjoyed being here as much as I did and I wanna finish with some food for thought: as I have told many of you in your submissions, you should never get discouraged! just because your work is not on my or anyone else's liking- it does not mean it's not good! Art is a very subjective thing and we each perceive it in our own way, so don't let someone's opinion get you down. If you enjoy what you are doing, then keep on going! do what makes you happy and take any comment/critique as just an opinion- not a sentence.

I will leave the group open for a few more days, just in case any of you want to take a last look through the galleries and follow the artists who's work they enjoyed seeing here.
