Inspired by this scene of 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Collab done with the wonderful =banana-tree of #UltraFractal

Thanks to ^Platinus, ~FarDareisMai and =trystianity for the help.

Due to DDification, I look forward to emptying my message center with one click in about 24 hours.

I don't think I have to explain why?
If you ever watched Kubricks' 2010 Odyssey - the strongest element and the most visionary one is the black monolithic obelisque - and the raising sun, highlighting the black smooth surface and casting the shadow of unknown on all living things in the middle of remote nowhere.
Am I describing the scene or the fractal - might as well be both.

Very strong visionary piece, great shape and perspective - the sunlight spilling over the hills and emanating light. Fantastic texture adding more intricacy to the whole composition.

The only thing which I have always meant to ask the author IS - why is the sky green and the earth blue?

Otherwise - this IS 2010 at the moment, maybe we will aquirre our answers!!!

The sky is green and the Earth is blue because it's abstract.

This...A Fractal. Impossible...but I'll go with it lol. Amazing work.

The fractal part is in the background layers.
RV-TIDE's avatar
Oh..ya frightened me there. The background is really nice in any case. Keep it up.

on a related (but very, very late note), this is indeed all done within Ultra Fractal and it's a "raw render", so in that sense, yes it is all a fractal. But UF is capable of incorporating non-fractal features, that's how pretty much all landscape scenes and realistic fractals are achieved. so in a technical sense, this is not completely fractal. take your pick with the terminology :)

Your reply must be a record of some sorts haha, but it's quite appreciated. Thanks for clearing that up for me! Hopefully Apophysis gets similar features in the not so very, very distant future.
