That One Time Sonic Turned Into A Bug by Monkey-Scientist That One Time Sonic Turned Into A Bug by Monkey-Scientist
Remember that time Sonic The Hedgehog swapped bodies with an anthropomorphic bug? Yeah, no one does, but it happened! In issue 241 of the Sonic The Comic, released in 2007 we were introduced to Oscura The Mantis. He only ever appeared once, and was never mentioned again. Oscura has psychic powers, which he uses to snatch Sonic's body. He then attempts to drive him insane, all in a plot cooked up by The Family, a bug-themed mafia. Also, Tails gets his body-snatched as well, though his is more of a possession than a body-swap.

Now, there have been swaps before and after this in the Sonic series. Thing is, they were usually between well-established characters. Here, Sonic ends up being body-snatched by the bad guy of the week. Seeing Sonic as a mantis is kind of cool, especially due to how much weaker he is in Oscura's body than his own. Now, I'm posting this one page here. I like to give attention to lesser known body swap materials, but you can actually easily find the entire comic online. Also, please keep in mind that this has no relation to the recently cancelled American Sonic comic. This is from Sonic The Comic Online, which is a official unofficial (it's confusing) continuation of Fleetway's Sonic comic.

You can find both parts on the official Sonic The Comic website:
www.stconline.co.uk/241/241/s1…
www.stconline.co.uk/242/242/st…

As usual, I own nothing pictured above. Please support the official release. Sonic is the property of Sega. If I'm asked to remove this comic, I will gladly do so. I only post this comic to advertise the issues (and the comic itself) to people who are curious.

Edit: I found out that this was technically a fan continuation. Whoops! Still, the series is pretty fun and I recommend checking it out (Even the creators of the original comic have given it the thumbs up)

Yeah, it kind of does. It's definitely not on the same quality as the American Sonic comics were.

Oh, these guys definitely care just like the American comics do. These UK Sonic comics had a lot of really awesome elements to them. For example, in this version Super Sonic actually turns Sonic evil. And eventually, Sonic splits off from Super Sonic and Super Sonic basically becomes his evil counterpart.

I agree, Sonic has gotten less interesting over the years. The comics still hold up, it just sucks that they are over now. The Archie Sonic comic died in late 2016, and Sonic The Comic Online is just a fan continuation of Fleetway's run (though it is endorsed by the original creators of the comic) It just sucks that the comics got cancelled.

I bet, it just feels like SEGA is just trying to milk the sonic franchise until there's nothing left of it
