Lightning crackled outside, as a ferocious wind rustled the branches of nearby trees. It was a cold and bitter night, one shrouded in mystery. Lying beneath the clouds and storms was a single undisturbed tree, one that had a small building situated atop its branches. This building was white on the outside, and only had a couple of windows. Seated at the front of the lab was a mahogany door, colored beige.

Attached to the door was a small fluttering piece of paper, which read "No dragons allowed, WHATSOEVER!" The paper hadn't been fastened to the door properly, however. A strong breeze ripped the paper off of the door, tape and all. The paper was pulled off by the harsh winds and flung into the distance, leaving the door completely bare.

The paper was now gone, and unable to ward off the draconic interloper that would soon barge into this mysterious lab. For you see, this eerie tree-house belonged to the simian scientist known as "Jam", who was often annoyed by dragons and dragon-like creatures! Inside the oddly situated building was a massive amount of bizarre machinery, odd creatures, and weird experiments.

However, the oddest thing in said lab was Jam himself. The anthropomorphized simian stood at 6 feet tall, had a long prehensile tail, and a body that was skinnier than a beanpole. Brown fur coated the simian's body, though left certain parts of his body bare. His hands, feet, buttocks, face, and stomach remained hairless.

The monkey had a pair of hand-like feet, which helped him greatly when it came time to work in his lab. The lab-coat wearing simian wasn't working on anything too revolutionary that night. Jam sat in one of the chairs attached to his favorite body-swap machine, while he twitched his tiny pink nose around randomly. Jam was tightening the screws on the machine, as it had a nasty habit of breaking down every time it swapped the minds of two individuals.

Jam's head was underneath one of the mind-swap helmets, but luckily the machine wasn't on. Jam didn't have to worry about any accidental mind-swaps this time! Little did Jam know, an interloper had snuck into his lab. Sneaking quietly through the pristine white hallway was what appeared to be a small furry dragon. This dragon had several pointing yellow claws situated atop its tiny feet. He had four claws on his front feet, while his back feet only possessed three.

The tiny dragon possessed a long furry tail, one that was connected seamlessly to his backside. He had a reptile-like tail, despite his mammalian appearance. The dragon had two long horn-like ears, while possessing large furry whiskers on the sides of its face. The dragon wiggled his tiny fluffy wings around, while he continued to trot aimlessly down the hallway.

This dragon was known as Chibisuke, and he was confused as to where he was. He was a furry little dragon that dwelled in the virtual reality game of "Dragon Drive", yet found himself in a place outside the game. The dragon didn't know it, but he had ended up in something akin to the real world! The dragon reached the end of the hallway and found an open door, one with light peaking out of it. The dragon took one of his front paws and gently nudged the door open, while at the same time making weird animal noises.

Chibi wondered if this room was where his owner Reiji Oozara was, though he highly doubted it. Once inside the room, Chibi looked around and noticed that it appeared to be some kind of lab. The white walls towered above the tiny dragon, while various pieces of lab equipment decorated the building.

Chibi looked around, and noticed a bizarre creature working on a machine off in the corner: Jam. Chibi giggled happily, and proceeded to quietly wander towards the creature seated on the strange device. Chibi silently snuck up to the chair situated to the left of Jam, and proceeded to climb atop it.

Jam didn't notice Chibi seating himself in the chair, he was too busy finishing up repairs on his machine. After tightening the last screw, Jam placed his arms on the armrests of the chair. Jam relaxed and was about to close his eyes, when the dragon struck. Chibi climbed up on his chair, and was about to leap on Jam. Chibi was like a cheetah stalking its prey, ready to jump on the monkey and obtain maximum hugs.

Unfortunately for Chibi, his big furry tail whacked into a lever seated to the back of him while he was positioning himself. This action caused the machine to light up, powering it on so it could perform its task. The machine whirred to life, as Jam quickly opened his eyes. It was too late for him to do anything, as the manacles attached to the chair snapped tightly around his wrists and ankles. He was now bound to the chair, unable to escape!

Jam looked over at the dragon, who proceeded to blindly stare at him. Chibi had no idea what the helmets did, but he was about find out! The helmets lowered themselves until they were completely covering the pair's heads. Jam struggled in his binds, but to no avail. The helmets let off a large amount of electricity, as they began the mind transfer process.

Jam and Chibisuke began to drool uncontrollably, while their tongues hung out of their mouths. The faces of the two beings became dull and mindless, as their brains were transferred to each other's forms. After a few minutes, the transference was complete. The helmets receded, as the shackles around that bound "Jam" loosened. Chibisuke looked down at his new body, and was delighted by what he saw!

Chibi still had a fur-coat, but now possessed fingers and arms as well! In fact, Chibi now had double the fingers Reiji did! Finally, the dragon could realize his dream of being able to open a door. Chibi stood up on two legs, which felt rather liberating to the former dragon. In his old body, Chibi could only stand up on two legs for a limited time, but now he had a body that could do that 24-7! The former dragon was truly ecstatic about his change in stature.

Chibi flexed his new furry prehensile tail around, getting a feel for it. It was like a fifth limb, something Chibi really dug! His old tail was also fine and good, but it was never this flexible. This new form was far more versatile than his old body. Of course, Chibi's new form wasn't perfect. He smelled terrible, his brown fur was mangy and stringy, and his snout was practically non-existent!

The lack of a snout really bothered Chibi, causing the monkey to raise his new hands to his face. He took his dirty monkey paws and rubbed them all over his face, desperately searching for a pronounced snout. Sadly, Chibi's monkey bod lacked any such defining element. Still, he was happy that he finally had hands! To the dragon-turned-monkey, that was the most important part.

Chibi looked back at the chairs, and was surprised to see his previous body glaring at him. Inhabiting Chibi's former body was the mind of a rather annoyed monkey, one who doesn't like his body being stolen! Jam tried to yell at the dragon wearing his form, but only cute little noises escaped his furry lips.

Jam looked over his new body, angered by what he saw. His form was now rather small, petite, and covered in fluffy white fur. His fingers and toes had been replaced by pointy yellow dragon claws, and he had a pair of horn-like ears decorating his head. Jam now had a small furry muzzle, one that was adorned with a pair of tiny nostrils.

Connected directly to Jam's backside was a long fluffy tail, one that was fused to his backside, much like a common reptile. With Jam's tail connected to his butt, he now had a stature one could describe as "a tube with legs". Jam took a leap off the chair and landed on all fours, a stature which he had a supreme dislike for. Jam attempted to stand up on two legs, which was a difficult undertaking.

Jam fell over and landed on his stomach, unable to assume a two-legged stance for too long. Jam grumbled and used his paws to lift his furry body off the tiled floor, hoisting himself onto a four-legged stance as he did so. Chibi chuckled at Jam's inability to use his body properly, causing the former monkey to glare at him. Jam attempted to hiss or growl at the dragon wearing his monkey form, but it came out as silly squeaking sounds.

Chibi stared at his old body and came to a realization: He was really freaking cute! Chibi was a newborn dragon and hadn't looked much in the mirror at all. The long tail, the fluffy fur, the big ears, the dopey big blue eyes, all features that made his body overwhelmingly cute. Jam's glare intensified as he looked at Chibi, knowing full well what the look in his former eyes meant. Jam knew Chibi wanted to cuddle and hug his body like there was no tomorrow!

Due to Jam being barely a foot tall, he knew that escaping the cuddling would be a difficult task. Jam had to get Chibi back to the machine, before the device does its obligatory self-destruct sequence! Jam curved his furry head and looked at his back, taking notice of the tiny wings attached to it. Would these wings be able to carry the monkey-turned-dragon into the sky? There was only one way to find out!

Jam concentrated trying to control his wings, which he found operated much like another pair of appendages. With enough concentration, Jam found himself able to wiggle his wings slightly. Chibi watched on with curiosity, while scratching his hairless chin using his new index finger. It took Chibi a bit to master his wings, there's no way Jam could pull it off! Jam continued to concentrate, until his wings glowed a golden yellow color. They expanded and grew larger, becoming glistening golden dragon wings in the process.

Jam began to flap his wings, which causes the many papers on the shelves next to him to fly off. The papers landed on the ground, as Jam let out a high-pitched sigh. I'll just have to pick those up later, I guess... Thought the mind of the monkey that now owned the body of the dragon. Jam didn't fret about the papers for too long, as he took a running leap into the air. While in air, Jam's wings propelled him upwards. He was surprised to find that he could actually fly!

Jam's fur rustled wildly as the dragon soared into the air! Jam flew around near the ceiling, as Chibi watched him from below. Unfortunately, Jam was not paying attention to his surroundings. The tiny dragon flew head first into the ceiling, bumping his head, and causing his wings to recede. Jam fell through the air, as he desperately flailed his furry arms around. Luckily for Jam, Chibi was standing right below him.

Chibi outstretched his hairless monkey paws, as the dragon plummeted towards him. Jam fell towards the ground, but surprisingly somehow landed into the hands of his former body! Chibi held up the dragon by his armpits, which caused Jam to flail around even more. In his attempt to take flight, he was now stuck in a trap of cuteness and cuddling! Jam kicked his tiny legs around, but that didn't stop Chibi one bit.

The monkey drew the dragon in closer and hugged him against his hairless chest. Jam's face was pressed awkwardly against his former chest, causing him to let out muffled squeals. The monkey's arms were wrapped tightly around the dragon's body, keeping Jam pressed against his dirty and mangy chest.

Ugh... This is how a plushy must feel! The dragon thought, while the monkey continued to press him against his chest! Jam knew he had to get out of this, and get to the machine before it blew up! Just then, Jam heard the countdown begin! "10... 9... 8... You know what? This is taking too long! 3, 2, 1, it's blowing up!" Exclaimed a computerized voice. The mind-swap machine then began to sputter and throw off sparks, while the circuitry inside the machine began to fizzle out.

The machine broke down, as the screen powered off. Jam was annoyed, now he was stuck as this adorable furry dragon thing! He couldn't do science with these useless claws! Chibi looked at the destroyed machine, quickly realizing that he was stuck this way. He didn't care too much, as he felt this body had a lot of advantages!

The monkey pulled the dragon away from his chest, and then lowered the little critter onto the ground. Jam was placed on all fours once more, a stance he still despised! Unfortunately for the former simian, it was something he'd have to get used to. Jam was still grumpy due to the permanent exchange, causing him to hang his furry head in shame.

Chibi didn't like seeing his body looking so sad, he knew he had to cheer his old body up! Chibi gave Jam was warming smile, and reached his hand over. The tiny dragon quivered, thinking Chibi would give him another awkward hug! Instead, Chibi reached over and scratched behind Jam's big furry ear.

Jam was in a body that liked being treated as a pet, so the ear scratching was just what the new dragon needed. His tension, anger, and sadness faded away as soon as the scratching begun! Jam's large tail waved back and forth uncontrollably, as the former monkey soon took a liking to be treated like a pet.

Oh my god, why do I like this so much?! Jam shouted aloud in his head, trying to resist the urge to enjoy his cuteness. His tail was wagging, he was panting like a dog, he couldn't hate this even if he wanted to! He usually never got this kind of care and attention when he swapped bodies with other creatures or beings. Usually they just mock him, and shove their new superiority in his face!
Jam knew that he had to take advantage of this situation! Despite usually being against cuteness, Jam surprisingly enjoyed the attention. The dragon dug his claws into the tiles lining the floor, before flipping his four-legged body over. Jam tumbled over the floor, landing belly-up.

Jam kicked in his draconic paws in the air, while he continued to let his tongue droop out of my mouth. Belly rubs! I must have belly rubs! I don't care if I'm giving into my cute side, I MUST HAVE THEM! These were the thoughts that were coursing through Jam's head, which Chibi couldn't hear. He did however know what Jam wanted, and he was happy to oblige!

The monkey took his dirty paw and used it to rub Jam's belly. The monkey's hand scratched and caressed the fur lining Jam's stomach, which the dragon happily enjoyed. YES! I may be a mad-scientist trapped in the body of an adorable dragon, BUT AT LEAST I GET BELLY-RUBS! The monkey-turned-dragon certainly enjoyed his belly-rubs, way more than he should have.

Chibi was certainly happy to dole out the belly-rubs to his former body, as he knew that he loved getting them! The two were content, despite being stuck as each other, were certainly having a good time. Even though they were stuck as the opposites of what they used to be, the two had formed a kinship. Possibly one that was stronger than the one between Chibi and his former master, Reiji!

Chibi was still curious how he got here, or if he'd ever see Reiji again. I mean, the two were supposed to go on some epic quest, or something! Oh well, Chibi was sure Reiji would be able to handle whatever comes without him! After all, Reiji was the chosen one... Probably.
Another sill story for y'all! I was binging the second half of Dragon Drive the other day, and was surprised that there was no body-swaps featuring the adorable dog-like dragon "Chibisuke". And I'm like "Yeah, I gotta fix that!" In this story, Jam accidentally swaps minds with Chibi permanently! As with all perma-swaps, this one is non-canon. Jam has to deal with being an adorable furry dragon and has to choose between escaping the cuddles and hugs, or embracing them. :D This story is meant to take place before episode 5, pre-Senkokura and Rikyu. Though, I guess you could have it set after the end of the anime, if you believe the theory of their now being two Chibis to be true. XD

And yeah, I know in this story I made Chibi into more of a cuddle and hugs-loving dragon. I play up the more canine aspect of him, just for fun. :) Took some creative liberties, but I thought the story turned out well. So yeah, Dragon Drive, Reiji, and Dragon Drive are the property of Shonen Jump and Kinichi Sakura. I do not own these characters or concepts, I only own Jam and his lab.

Also, the "Tube-With-Legs" line describing reptile physiology was originally used by :icondragonhead: in a stream. Decided to use it in this because I found It to be a funny line. :)

Dragon Drive does look a LOT like Digimon, but I’m not complaining.

Yeah, it's got that Digimon vibe to it, at least in terms of design. :)

Agreed, plus the main character looks like a combo of Marcus from Digimon season 5 and Mikey from Digimon season 6

Plus he looks like he's dressed like Marty McFly from Back To The Future, with that orange vest on. :D

Yeah, in fact the vest is why I compared him to Miley but Marty McFly is a much better connection

Technically not the older version, just his true form. You see, his true form is Senkokura, which he obtains in episode 5 after Reiji and him train. In later episodes, Chibi gets a bunch of other forms.
