My name is Makoto Niijima. Normally, I excel at booksmarts. When I had attended Shujin Academy, I was always top of my class. I took pride in my academic studies, and I felt accomplished in it. However, I have come to realize that despite that, I do tend to struggle a bit in more social situations. Nothing too major, thankfully. But I have begun to take notice of some instances when my judgment of social interactions would lead me to make a few clumsy mistakes or misunderstandings. I’ve been thinking about that a bunch recently, all thanks to a certain day that I doubt I’ll be able to forget anytime soon. It started out like any regular day. The 19th of May. The sun was shining brightly, people were out and about all across Japan. As for me, I had been snoozing away in my bed.
