Sprite and Nerida flew out of the water with Velle and Sacred close behind them. Their sparkling star raced ahead of them and they didn’t want to lose it. Nerida had never seen Sacred move so quickly, it was jarring to watch her elegant mentor move rapidly. Though Nerida acknowledged there was no reason to think she couldn’t move fast. “Whoa-” Sprite came to a halt and it didn’t take the others long to realize why. They found themselves on a wide stretch of beach. It appeared to go on forever in each direction, and they had an odd sense of being out of reality. They knew this wasn’t the Conservatory though, just a strange part of the Marine Biome they’d never seen. But the massive gathering of esks in the distance truly shocked them. “I’ve never seen so many…” Sacred said, her words trailing off. Squeak and Insari gave each other questionable looks as if to say, do you find this as pleasant as she does? The resounding answer seemed to be a no. They weren’t used to so much nothing. Cyrielle occasionally traveled this deep into the ocean, but only a handful of times. Usually she would get bored and eventually go back to the reefs. Sprite and Velle swam behind Nerida and Sacred. They were too caught up with playing with their new seal cub friend, and they weren’t paying much attention. Occasionally they’d look up to find Sacred and Nerida still meandering down the underwater shoreline between massive rocks and icebergs wedged in between swaying plantlife. “You’ve settled into your home so seamlessly, it’s impressive,” Sacred noted, turning her liquidy, white head towards the massive body of Nerida next to her. Nerida creased her eyes in a smile, “Thank you, yes I’ve done a lot of exploring since we last saw each other. The ocean calls to me constantly and I’m always eager to follow where it takes me.” They were silent for a moment before Sacred added, “You remind me of Enkira, not just in looks.” Nerida recoiled a little bit, “I love Enki, but hopefully we’re not too similar.
