I've been meaning to talk with you about where we're at on future OCTs. As is obvious, our grand ambitions for a new OCT have yielded little movement for a while now. Part of it was a traumatic personal event that I am not yet ready to talk about publicly that caused a massive depression spike. Part of it is Cory (SaintKhan) and I have been exceptionally busy trying to get our company off the ground and grow our own projects, like my Webcomic
and our Storytelling Podcast
. And part of it is that, somewhere along the line, we lost the fun of OCTs and we're trying to find it again. We lost touch with that spark, with the joy, and OCTs just became an overwhelming third job. We tried to please as many people as we could, but the result was that we weren't pleasing ourselves.
That doesn't mean we're not thinking about doing another one. We still love watching storytellers grow. We are still amazed and humbled by the support of different members of the community.
What we lack is, for the moment, an idea that is just as fun for us as it is for those involved and the energy reserves to start anew. I have no doubt that, someday, that idea will come and the time will be right. What I don't know is WHEN that will be.
I do hope that you'll keep an eye on this account. We want to come back, and we'd love for you to join us when we return.
