Voodoo Economics by Moeromaru Voodoo Economics by Moeromaru
I picked up this crappy IKEA coffee table thing last spring when everyone was moving out of the dorms for the summer and burned it until it stopped being boring. I used every pyrography blade in my collection, plus the blowtorch to finish this one. I burned in all my favorite things...there's a crazy border, a badass dragon, and the whole world's on fire. Hooray! Escaflowne nerds might recognize the little guy with the sword at the bottom. It's supposed to look like an altar table for some kind of insane money-worshipping cult. Maybe psychics can use it to tell the future of the stock market. I'm using it to hold my junk.

Holy shit. I burned some stuff in art class once, but I would never have imagined something like this was even possible!! It's fucking /AMAZING/. And it just goes to show that people can make astonishing artwork using all kinds of methods... It never occurred to me that this was an art medium. Seriously I couldn't do this even if I practiced for my entire life LOL. Also, Escaflowne is awesome. Also also, the fact that it looks like money is awesome. Okay there's pretty much nothing about this that isn't awesome.

I'll just be starting at this for the next couple of hours...

aw man. i don't know which is better, the imagery itself, or the fact that you burned it into some sort of crappy IKEA coffee table. either way, pretty damn sweet. you go. :+favlove:.

Fantastic, I never thought you could make something that impressive from burning.

I love how you've done it in the style of american banknotes too, it's a brilliant piece. :D

Wow this is amazing! I'm absolutely mesmerized by the detail, and it looks fairly big at that. The credo is very witty. :)

I.... can't believe you burned this into a table. That's.... unbelievable. Why do the dragon and crow represent the comex and nasdaq? Any reason? I can see the fish and bull for nikkei/dow... so I was just wondering if there was any reasoning behind the other two.

:O You. Have. So. Much. Talent!

OH my goodness! I started by looking at the DD that you had gotten and thought to myself, 'there is a nice picture.. ink myabe?' then I read your comments and my jaw hit the floor. Woodburning. OMG. Even the notes about the size of the two tables, and the detail! I.. I could never even imagine so much skill put into a table with wood burning. I... I bow to your amazing skills. :worship:
