There weren't many orcs in Tardos, or goblins for that matter but Alfonzo had seen all sorts in his youth when he had sailed the trade routes up and down the coast of the Caritz Sea. He had been hungry for adventure then and very brash. He should have listened to his father and stayed with him in his skiff fishing then he might have avoided much hardship. They had not really been welcomed and that, Alfonzo thought, was quite normal. They were green and their eyes were gold and the orc was very large and frightening. The sun was spreading its strong rays across the land. The mist of early sun had gone and a Pectinodon had just returned from the hunt to rest. Its large eyes meant that it could hunt well in the dim light, catching animals that were still half asleep. However, the bright light of the day hurt its eyes and Pectinodon ran into the bushes after a hard night’s work. The Pectinodon had caught a small, furry mammal to eat. As it trotted toward the undergrowth with its prey, the Pectinodon disturbed another dinosaur, the Ankylosaurus who was bedded nearby. Ankylosaurus raised herself to her feet and smelt the air.
