14 - Sloth/Apathy
The laziest mf SOB I have ever created is Ted's little brother Veit, but this is not Veit month! x3 The next best character is Liam.
I tried a different take on this one too (the way I like to portray the deadly sins). Christian theology has of course something to say about being a lazy bum - do your deed!! Love God!!, but as my OCs are in most cases very not spiritual nor religious, I can approach these subjects from a different angle.
So here's Liam and his half-brother Lewis! Lewis's opinions are Liam's opinions. Like really... Lewis has never given Liam a chance to think on his own and to make his own decisions. Liam is a tabula rasa. He adapts other people's opinions, and the more confident and strong-willed the other person is, the more loyal Liam is to them. Lewis's ego is HUGE and he's been very possessive of Liam ever since Liam was born, so of course Liam's personality hasn't developed naturally. He's quite hot-tempered and you'd think he is stubborn, but no. Oh no. He's lost if there's no one who thinks for him.
In the first panel Liam is younger and in the second one we have present/current Liam.
This is a very silly and lazy (to fit today's prompt ofc lol) doodle, so Lewis's opinions are very silly and lazy too x3 DISCLAIMER these characters are fictional and I don't necessarily share their views LOL don't fight me
(edit:/ but I can talk philosophy in the comments xD especially because this is not a very straightforward take on this prompt)
Lewis and Liam belong to me
Liam's personality makes for the perfect minion, so he's naturally falling into the right line of work. Henchmen/yesmen mentality. I've unfortunately known people like this and it's sad to see (because many times the person they latch onto is manipulative and abusive.) I've also had some "latch" on to me, of all people. And it's scary cuz like... I want them to challenge me sometimes, not agree with everything cuz I know I'm wrong a LOT. I need to be checked sometimes XD
Anyway, again, a brilliant take on this sin. From its basic meaning of not making an effort/not caring to not choosing to think for one's self. It works absolutely perfectly! Not merely not wanting to listen to authority but rather Liam simply finding it easier and gravitate toward someone who will do the heavy lifting of opinion making.
