Second Basin from above - Cataract Gorge, Tasmania by MK-FouR Second Basin from above - Cataract Gorge, Tasmania by MK-FouR
A high up view of the relatively dry second basin of the Cataract Gorge, where the South Esk River cuts deep through an area of hills just before reaching sea level at its confluence with the Tamar River. It is one of the wider and least steep sided areas of the gorge, but is still a notable view when travelling the local paths.

Although it is not visible in the image, this was taken from a balcony stretching out over the gorge from a path on the southeast side of the basin.
