Model is Carly Champagne.

Lighting is one large octodome 45 degrees off camera axis. This image is a good illustration of why I enjoy using large diffusers - note the size of the reflection on her thigh. If I were using a smaller softbox the reflected hot spot on her thigh would be smaller and would come across to your eye as being more intense. Post-work is clean-up, channel mixer monochrome conversion (50% red 50% blue) hue/saturation adjustment (peach color +8, colorize) and a very slight levels tweak.

(Yes, it is OK to use this image as a reference for painting or sketching but please do not use it as source material for photomanipulations)

....wonderful lighting for the skin... good pose, almost classical
hence its appeal... I have only seen males in this pose --this is imaginative....

I just thought you should know that your classic style figure studies are fantastic. My figure drawing teacher really loves when I sketch from your photos during the week. I would love to see more of them (but I love your other stuff too, so whatever)!

Figure study!?! Man, I want to figure study too!

No photomanipulation? Why the hell would someone want to photomanipulate this picture? It's perfect! I must admit, though, that plain manipulation is very very tempting!

Congratz! :)

Well, a lot of the time a photographer will create a body-image like this by smoothing things out, thinning them here or there, plumping them over there - etc.. This is (as they say) 100% organic and natural.

Channel mixer is the best quick way to do b/w conversion. There are others (like Vincent Versace's color layers trick) that are better but maaaaan are they complicated. I'm lazy. :)

There's another one of those poses that displays the female form in such an alluring way.

Delicious shot.

Compliments to the model.

But kudos the you, my friend.

This is an excellent figure study. Her form is very archetypal. In particular, her right hip bone, the fold at the base of her ribs, and the two spinal vertebrae at the back of her lower neck all really catch my eye as good examples of important details of the human form. So, please let her know that she looks perfect.
Since you pointed it out, I can see the advantages of the large diffuser. Since there wasn't a 'hot spot' reflection to catch my eye, I didn't really think about it until you mentioned it.
