Yo!  I hope this doesn't come off too much like the awkward ramblings of a creepy fan... but I am so inspired by your work that I scarcely have words to describe it.  Your art played a huge role in starting me down my own artistic path and still serves as a morale booster along the way.  I am not great... or even good for that matter... but I often visit your gallery and think to myself that if I manage to reach even a fraction of quality that your images possess, then I can truly be proud of myself.

Wow. Thanks a lot! I appreciate it.

Here's some words of wisdom:

You CAN do it. That's not me pandering. It's true. It takes practice (and by what I mean by practice is doodling in the margins of your textbooks or whenever you have the opportunity.

When drawing from still life draw what you see, not what you think ought to be there.

It's ok to use photographs as your source material until you're good enough to draw it without visual aids. I still use photos to help me draw things I don't know much about, like the wrinkles on clothing and such.

Experiment. Trash bins should be full of crumpled pages of paper of drawings that just didn't work out.

You are limited only by what you THINK you can't or can do. Not that you genuinely can or can't accomplish a given thing, but your belief in yourself is your only limiting factor. We are mighty beyond measure. Show the world what you can do and to hell with everyone who doesn't like it. It's your life. Draw what you want.

Avoid negative people. It's the naysayers who hurt us the most.

Never compare yourself with others. It will only cause you to become either vain or bitter, because there will always be those better or lesser than yourself.

Above all else, be kind, not just to others, but to yourself.

I like your Fem Force! I would like them to meet my Local Heroes sometime.

Do you do requests?

Sometimes. Right now, though, I have a long que of requests and I don't anticipate getting to any new ones for many months. Sorry!

Your picture "Afterglow" kinda reminds me of the comic strip "Den". I like it.

Thanks. Hawkmoon *kinda* looks like Den, but that was unintentional.
