Inspirect by the Hanged Man tarot card, which is all about reversing, upending or reevaluating one's world view, stepping back - it represents for me reflection on life and initiation. the inner work, the soul within, rather than the exoteric world of institutions and dogma. there may be a place and purpose for all things but in this moment the eye is turned inwards. the chains around his foot are pulling the two parts of the tree of death together - i guess there is some little narrative there of the contending heads of Thaumiel in the Qlippoth being symbolic of exoteric religion tearing itself apart, such things though being unified alchemically when one works on the inner plane
