My Bio

Hey,

I'm an origami artist from Germany. I started to fold origami about 20 years ago. Over time I developed my first own models (simple boxes and stars). I joined the virtual origami community on flickr 2008 and tried to create more unique models since then. I'm also a member of the German Origami Association (Origami Deutschland e.V.) since 2010. In 2013 I was introduced to wet-folding a technique that changed my style forever.

With this technique I strayed from what one might consider as regular Origami and started to explore organic forms as well as curved folds more and more.

Favourite style of art: Origami, wet-folding

It has been quite a while since my last journal entry but here is something that I just had to post about: There is an Origami folding challenge going on! You do not know how to fold you say?...Well this challenge is here to encourage people who haven't done Origami before to try it out. But it's not just for beginners! You can also participate if you're an experienced origami folder and get creative and have fun. The challenge is hosted by the lovely synconi who will also give away prices to the winners. So head over to her side for more details: THE FOLDING CHALLENGE

Despite my absence from Origami right now, i'm still watching new origami models on dA and flickr from time to time. Today I noticed that there was a new picture of Kamiya's Ryu Zin (Eastern Dragon) online that looked awfully familiar. As it turned out the person posting the picture was using an old photo of the model that can be found online. Looking at the description of the the model it was clear that the person isn't even aware that the Ryu Zin is folded from only one sheet of paper. Besides stealing pictures from Kamiya, he also took most of Won Park's amazing money origami models and posted them as his own (Here is Won Park's Journal

I'm back from the anual German Origami Convention. The journey to Salem, the city were the convention was held took over seven hours with the car. I went there with a couple of friends from Frankfurt (all are Origami folders). The first evening wasn't that eventful at all. We assembled our exhibition models and went to bed. The Second day was full of different possibilities which whom we could fill the day. There were workshops provided by other folders, several hours of "free folding" and of course breaks. There were also two paper shops, where you could buy a range of different papers, books and folding tools, a heaven for folders so to s

Thanks for the fav of my sculpture!

Stay well!

Thank you so much for the watch! :)

Really enjoyed your gallery and wanted to see what you think about a winged snake design!

Thank you! Oh a winged snake design sounds interesting, like a version of Quetzalcoatl?

Right on! Pretty much exactly like that

Bleib gesund und munter und weiterhin viel künstlerischen Erfolg!
Your art is amazing! I love it.
