2017 Eventing "Grand Slam" Series

Named after the title awarded if a team sweeps all three of these prestigious international CCI**** events, this series is based on the real life shows if the same name. Only two riders in real life has ever won all three events in row - we thought it would be fun to give the HARPG community the same chance!

Even if no one achieves the "Grand Slam" title however, as these events are also part of the FEI "Classics" series, the teams with the highest scores at the end of the series will receive additional awards and accolades!

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Horses must be at least 6 yrs old, fit and sound. Any breed/size is welcome as long as they are suitable for safely completing the event.

Rider must be at least 18 yrs old, and have at least 1 previous riding image.

Each horse must have previous experience as follows:
> minimum of one ridden training image (either on the flat or jumping)
> and at least 1 complete 3DE show OR 3 individual entries (at least 1 Dressage & 1 Jumping entry required)

ENTRY RULES

ALL ARTWORK MUST BE YOUR OWN. (This means no premade linearts/backgrounds, photos, commissions or collabs.)

Tracing is allowed but MUST be declared. All entries must credit references. If no reference was used, please write "no reference". Entries will not be accepted without reference notations.

Three images are required per horse/rider team entered: Dressage, Cross Country & Show Jumping.
> The three entry images must be at least partial body (color required). Rider and background are required. Registration number should be on the horse or in the case of cross country, may be shown in the rider's bib. Flag of the teams represented country should be on the saddle pad.

SETTING

Held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky USA.

-- Details: Horse must be presented in a snaffle bridle, and should be show groomed with a braided mane. Handler attire should be dressy to dressy casual (ex. Suit, jacket and pants or skirt, dress). Horse will be presented standing before being trotted away and then back towards veterinarians.

-- Details: Horse and rider will perform movements from the CCI**** Dressage Test A. Horse should be neatly turned out in sport horse style with braided mane (braided tail is optional). Tack should be conservative and natural coloured leather with a white saddle pad. Snaffle or double bridle. Breastplate allowed, but martingale and boots/bandages prohibited. Rider should wear traditional dressage turnout - top hat or helmet, coat, white shirt and tie, white or cream breeches and black or brown dress boots). Registration number should be affixed to the bridle or saddlepad, and country flag should be on the saddlepad.

> Cross Country: (Saturday)

-- Details: Teams will start every 5 minutes from the start box. Riders must wear head protection, a body guard, and dress or field boots. Horse saddlery is up to your discretion with the exception of no blinkers or standing martingales.

-- Details: Team should wear traditional hunt style tack and apparel. Dark hunt jacket (colour accents are acceptable), shirt/tie, light breeches and black dress or field boots. Helmet required. Saddlery should be natural leather. Boots/leg protection, breast collar, martingales are allowed.
