Companies in Danville seem to have this habit of doing things not neccesarilly included in their job description, don't they?
Biological research stations dabble in physics. Robotics manufacturers take a shot at weapons productions and train-running software.
Incidentally, LambdaTech is named after a brand of Japanese space rockets, so I guess it makes a little sense for them to have a broad field. I mean, space rockets need like twelve different kinds of science to work, right?

Well, I guess we can rule out our usual villians from any involvement with today's plot...
