EDIT: I can't believe I left it at 3MB for so long! The issue was as follows: inkscape has a whole lot of stock textures and patterns you can use. It seems that once you use one or even make any gradient at all, the sodding program copies the whole library of stuff n your SVG file. And since a large portion of it is jpeg textures and patterns, it means about 15 thousand lines of parasitic code, spanning up to three MB. That's a lot, if you consider that a full vector of a pony is about 2-4 KB at best.
Use this at your leisure.
