a request from Manuel Compaan or ~compaan-art since he was the 100th person to fave my Lamborghini Reventón drawing : [link] and he told me his favorite car is the 1971 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II,which was basically a modified Mercury Montego made for one thing:Stock Car Racing, this was pretty much one of the legendary winged cars that went 200mph on the ovals back in the 70's alongside the Charger.i've decided to at least give it a little more attitude than it actually had stock while leave most of its parts intact.this one has a 427 Cobra V8(where the 429 c.i V8 once settled in)making somewhere around 700hp and a 5 speed manual.it took at least 8 tries since last year just to make the front end.i have to day it,this was the hardest front end i had to deal with in a while but it was worth it,in all honesty this was one of the more underrated muscle cars from the 60's and 70's and one of the rarest, hope you like.
crits are allowed just do a constructive one,not something like "this car sucks" or the "proportions are f'ed up" at least tell me why it is that way.sorry about the small rant. Manuel, hope you like it.

sure thing,Manuel.it was worth it just learning about this fascinating car and how it worked,i had to go as far as to find Montego pics(the base for the Cyclone)most of the ones i've found were 1024 x 768,you're taking a lot of time with the Mercury sketch from what i've noticed but its a good thing since its gonna look badass once you finish it.

This car is much more interesting than a Torino or Mustang. Maybe in this summer I may drive the only Cyclone Spoiler in my country. [link]
I am very busy with all kind of things the last few weeks (school, work, etc.), but I will finish it as soon as possible.

Cool!
I think they were under rated for good reason...no one wanted one.
Okay...no one i knew wanted one. Obviously some people did. But if you wanted a Ford product most went with the Mustang. It was a nobrainer back then. The idea of a luxury muscle car never really caught on because the kids could not afford the luxury and did not really want it anyway.
I like the front end you have here. Along with the rest of the car.
It's another good piece of work!

thanks man,i have to agree not many people talk about these since they were limited edition models as well.the toughest part of it was basically the front bumper of the Merc since i had to go through nearly 10 tries before i had it right.i showed this to a friend and he told me the wheels are wrong, proportions wise.or maybe its the size.

Yeah,it was great! And a real triumph. Speaking of Fords, I just this afternoon spotted a 4-door-sedan with a Ford badge and manufacturer plates on its derriere, in a state of un-camouflage suggesting it'll be out soon. Taut, muscular lines, and maybe a size above the new Taurus. Or somewhere thereabout. I'd have gave chase, but he went a different way, and I was in a hurry.
