Super Smash Bros. 64 quartets

This has been a Smash-related picture that I’ve been thinking of making a long time ago. While the first game of the series is seen as forgettable, I was always interested in its small initial roster and its characters. There are 12 characters, which I see as a self-contained family, but there are also a few more that were supposed to be there, and that makes more even more interested, like a what-if situation, if those scrapped characters also make it into the games. It is confirmed that 4 of them were supposed to be in this game (Making the Original 12 to Original 16), not counting alts. I wish there are more Smash 64 group of characters that also included them, I want to see more of it. Coincidentally, since here are 4 confirmed scrapped characters, and there are 12 actual characters in the game, we can make quartets out of it. Btw, the last one is a bonus, it includes characters that were rumoured to be in the game, but aren’t confirmed.

Here are the quartets I made up (Note: I know Falco is supposed to appear in this game, alongside Slippy and Peppy, but he is not a character, just an alt. And I couldn't find more characters to make another quartet, and what kind of quartet that would be).

 

 

Mario – Link – Kirby – Pikachu

 

I put the more important figures there.

I see their dynamic being something of a master and servant type, and they have pet companions too.

 

Secondary 4

 

Donkey Kong – Yoshi – Samus - Fox

 

Formed from leftovers.

Their dynamic could be something similar to the SpongeBob dynamic, where we have two funny idiot friends, a serious guy and the female friend.

 

Hidden 4

 

Luigi - Captain Falcon – Ness - Jigglypuff

 

The four unlockable characters. I do have a soft spot for it because Jigglypuff is there. I see their dynamic being something of some guy reluctantly joining a gang and get into their shenanigans.

 

Scrapped 4

 

Bowser – Marth - King Dedede - Mewtwo

 

All the characters that were confirmed scrapped. I find them fascinating for the fact that they were supposed to be in the game. Imagine if they were there. Am I the only one who find that funny that among the scrapped characters, we have antagonists/villains and Marth?

I can see their dynamic being a good guy forcing to team up with the villains.

 

Unknown 4

Peach – Pit – Sigurd - Meowth

 

I picked 4 out of the unconfirmed characters that were rumoured to be in Smash 64 (Apparently, Sigurd from Genealogy of the Holy War is one of them, but Peach, Pit and Meowth are well-known. Btw, Wario could be an option too, I even considered him over Sigurd). Personally, Peach is my Smash main, and it would be great to see her there too, but it's fine the way it is.

I see the dynamic for this quartet being a typical love triangle.
