Hello all, it's been a long time.
I hope every one is having a great summer, and staying cool in the heat. I finally went through all of my deviant messages, and got completely caught back up. I can't believe I still had deviations from last year still unviewed!
Anyways, 2012 has been an eventful year for me. I had two knee surgeries one on my left and one on my right and I've been having knee problems since the first of January. I had my first one done in February, and all seemed well, and then unexpectedly at the end of April my right knee went bad. I had to stop swimming yet again, and had surgery a week later. Both injuries were flukes.
I graduated high school two and a half weeks after having the second knee surgery, but I was determined not to walk on crutches. I didn't. I got my diploma on my own two feet. A week after that I started my summer swim coaching job, and I thought I was home free. I've had a few ups and downs with post-surgery pains, but unfortunately I'm now headed back to the doctor for both of my knees. I'm not sure what's in my future, but I just want to be pain free. I start college in a few short weeks, and walking to class is going to be difficult if I don't get the problems fixed. Fingers crossed it's nothing serious.
And, just like everyone else, I became a fan of The Legend of Korra this year. How could an old Avatard not
watch the show? How many people got chills and teary eyes for the last five minutes of the finale? I know I did. The old music.
It did take me several episodes to get used to the new, modern setting of Korra, but I learned to love it. It still doesn't touch Avatar in my book, but I'm so happy to see benders again! I just miss the old characters so much so many great memories. As soon as Korra ended, I knew I had to rewatch my favorite show from episode one... the Boy in the Iceberg. I bought the complete Book 2 and 3 collections to go along with the Book 1 I already had, and set off on the Gaang journey again. What a great show. I finished the finale yesterday, and cried just like I did the day it went off the air. At least we have three more seasons of Korra to look forward two, and we better see more flashbacks of the Gaang! I'll miss that bunch too much.
And this wouldn't be my journal unless I mentioned something about my favorite band Muse. The Second Law is just a few short
long months away, and I'm excited and totally worried at the same time. After that horrific new single for the Olympics, I'm afraid we've lost Muse completely. I love and support Muse, but I'm sorry, besides the guitar section in the middle, Survival is pure cheese. And I really hope we don't have to hear the lyrics on TV often, because I'd be embarrassed for non-fans to hear this constantly. Just holding my breath for the album. Oh, and I can't wait for the Olympics. Swimming, here we come.
Also, I'm journaling from my new MacBook Pro laptop! Which is now equipped with PSCS6, heck yes! New art from me soon. Yay college life.
