River rocks

Micro habitat assignment! In watercolor.

Took a bunch of the river rocks from the french drain around my house, put them in a box, then stuck some sticks, dirt, and leaves on it to create a scene. :p Set up my own lighting and took way too many photos of the pile when trying to pick a good composition. Hahaha. I really like the little oak leaf with holes in it. :3

Anyway, inspiration from Alan Magee's gorgeous rock paintings!

This one is just watercolor - used mainly the large Pentel waterbrush, a toothbrush to flick on some splatter spots, and my left finger to smudge stuff. Took about 8 hours.

hey it doesn't look like watercolor, i thought this was crayon, is great! just that texture, and the tiny dirty spots D: wao. I remember when i was very young i always bring rocks to my home, [still do] even two bags of rock, overall the rock from the river are so beautiful. And this just took you 8 hours? are you kidding me?! xD wao
