Note: This story includes elements of Star Trek culture that may be confusing to non-fans. You’ll enjoy it the most if you’ve seen “The Trouble with Tribbles.” Walking the halls of Starlit Station helps me think. I have been taking very long walks lately since thinking is not going well for me. My most recent paper, “A common cause of interpersonal conflict in Vulcan interactions with non-Vulcans,” was not well-received. Several Vulcan colleagues were especially displeased with me, and one asked if I was ashamed of being Vulcan. I suspect other Vulcans have been avoiding my wife and me because of this. I've been unable to finish any drafts lately. So I walk around the station in the hopes it will help. And if I walk next to the walls while reviewing my notes on my tablet, I'm unlikely to walk into traffic and get hit by a cart like I did last year (and three years ago… and six years ago). Perhaps I should attempt a paper on similarities and differences between Vulcan and Human
